|They Don't Come in Peace|
Vale PL: 30'000
Months passed and Vale had not forgotten about his promise to that young man. Truthfully, he had almost forgotten about it, but boredom and the promise of mischief sufficed to rekindle that desire to wreak havoc somewhere. Earth was not a prime candidate, but it happened to be there and that was all the reason he ever needed.
The Furnace of Eight Divisions provided a place charged in lore and history, the remnants of magic dwelling in the place still perceptible to the magically attuned. It was what had drawn him in initially and as he meant to do back then, now too would be the seat of his summon. He had tried once, but failed. First he doubted his own skill, only to realize that the place he tried to reach didn’t exist anymore. Surely, a lot of time had passed, and myriad civilizations had risen and fallen. Even for someone like him, it was hard to keep track of it all.
As he did his due diligence and researched the state of the universe, he had found the perfect place to use for his funny scheme. The Makyo Star hosted demon-like lifeforms and after a visit in person, he promised them a chance to spread their influence. After all, being stuck on this rogue planet was quite the boring life and they ought to get a little vacation here and there. To make it convincing enough, he did sprinkle in some lies about how they were being openly mocked by the earthlings and some other petty stuff. Just to get that extra oomph.
“Alright, take two.”
He had preemptively placed a bunch of souls in a circle, the wriggling white clouds trying to escape whatever curse they were under. As he gathered his magic energy, its foulness spread across the area and with a click of the fingers, the souls caught on fire, a dark violet fire with green hues. As they screamed in pain, the smoke emanating from them began concentrating itself in its epicenter and it was not until they had been fully exhausted that the portal came to life, not unlike a dark void of unfathomable depth. The souls, as far as they were concerned, would finally find rest as they vanished, finding themselves back at the check-out of the afterlife and, hopefully, clogging the waiting line.
“Alright, this time it worked! Now, the portal should be opening on the Makyo Star as well. As soon as it stabilizes, they will be linked and the denizens will come flooding through here! I did tell them they could take whatever they wanted for themselves…Surely it won’t be a problem. Wait, am I talking to myself?”
It didn’t matter! While he did not know the full extent of the invading force, he knew it was composed of Makyans, but also of lower lifeforms and certainly not the brightest or smartest. To his estimate, it would be enough to take over the western part of the world, but, honestly, he didn’t care too much about these cretins. A bit of fun was all he wanted!
Alright, second time is the charm? Let's hope so
VALE is opening a portal connecting directly to the Makyo Star! After doing some PR work, he convinced the Makyans to come to Earth for a takeover, isn't that cool? They're raring to go, too!
IF the portal is allowed to stabilize and fully connect the two worlds, an invading force will pour from it and march over to West City, destroying it. The Makyans will remain in the ruins until they are dealt with.
IF the portal fails, Vale will have his fun anyway and still win. This is, in fact, a Xanatos Gambit.
