CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
(Art done by me)
Sagan stands at about 5'8 with a muscular build. He has caramel skin, black hair, and light blue eyes, often sporting ear piercings. He can most commonly be found in a simple black shirt and a pair of sweatpants. His most notable features are his especially prominent eyebrows that are often the subject of awe and teasing alike, the Mark of Raijin that has been tattooed on his neck, and the fact that he can often be found with either a mischievous-looking grin, or a rather intense glare.
BACKGROUND: Thousands of years ago, there lived a man named Raijin. Raijin lived in a small village somewhere in the Western Wilds. The village was small, indeed, but the people were hearty and optimistic, and did their best to fend off against the constant conflict that came alongside living in close proximity to other villages and bandits. Despite the fact that he was a very small and weak boy, Raijin participated in the battles out of a want and desire to protect his village and those he held dearest, often using wits and sheer courage in the place of strength.
Running low on food and supplies and hoping to expand in general, the village sent Raijin and some other men to go out into the world and search for these things. And so, Raijin and his group went on an expedition to find food and land, and they were eventually successful. They would return home to their village, eager to inform them of the good news, but were shocked to find nothing left of their village other than steaming ruins, and a majority of the village killed. Raijin, furious, demanded to know who had done this. When he found out that it was a neighboring village that their village had frequently been warring with, he rallied what was left of the villages able-bodied men, and devised a plan to seek revenge upon the neighboring clan. The plan was extremely bold, but a clever one, and Raijin was able to convince the men of his village to go along with it.
The men made their way to the neighboring village and enacted their plan. It didn't take too long, though, for the forces of the neighboring village to grow privy to it, and attempt to thwart it. Another battle ensued. The neighboring villages' army was plentiful, but the men of Raijin's village were skilled, clever, and bloodlusted. Despite their valiant effort, however, Raijin and his men were once again brought to their knees. It seemed as though all hope was lost. Now faced with the threat of his village being eradicated forever, Raijin was backed into a corner. It is said, however, that at this moment, the Ancient God of Storms looked down upon Raijin and his people, and recognized their pain. The God, feeling merciful, decided to bestow a bit of its power to the most courageous of Raijin's men, that of course being Raijin himself. Raijin, now extremely powerful and enraged, was given the ability to channel and control the power of the storms. He used this newfound ability to wreak havoc and justice across the neighboring village. From the ashes of the now destroyed neighboring village rose a new people, with Raijan as their newly powerful head. These people came to be known as the Kaminari Tribe.
It is said that, throughout the years, Raijin's power, wisdom, and courageousness is passed down through the generations into a child, who will be known as the Arashi no Omo, or the Lord of the Storms. After the previous Lord of the Storms perishes, each new child in the village is put through a spiritual selection process. If the child passes, they are given the Mark of Raijin, and are closely monitored as they train and start to manifest their new abilities. While those chosen children remain normal Earthlings at their core, they are also able to tap into the Thunder of Raijin. The Thunder of Raijin is unlike any normal thunder, and thus, can be conjured, used, and combined with ki to supercharge attacks, or create new ones. As they get stronger, they are able to tap into more and more of Raijin's power.
Sagan was born, and went through this process. He showed excellent promise in terms of both fighting ability and courageousness, but was a bit of a late bloomer when it came to the wisdom portion of his role, unless it came to devising complex strategic plans on how to steal snacks from the village bakery without getting caught. As he grew and trained more, though, he became more and more a skilled tactician and strategist, using his wits in battle to overcome foes that were even stronger than him, just as Raijin once had.
Regardless, the future of the Kaminari was looking fairly positive. That was, until a power of ridiculous magnitude compared to the Kaminari once again ravaged them. With Sagan being too young and inexperienced to properly protect the Kaminari, a majority of them were wiped out, with the village being destroyed once again, and the few remaining survivors scattering across the globe, and even amongst the stars. Sagan was taken by last surviving village elder before the brunt of the attack unfolded, and hidden away somewhere on a small island in The Eternal Ocean, in order to ensure that the Lord of Storms would survive, and that there was a chance that the Kaminari would one day return. He was always told that the attack had come from a rival tribe, but that may not have been the absolute truth.* He was trained on that island by the elder for the next couple of years, until the elder passed of old age, and for the first time in his life, Sagan was entirely on his own.
The next couple of years were rough. Sagan was forced to survive alone. He struggled through it, though, and has managed to survive well enough thus far, now accustomed to life amongst the majority of civilization. His lack of adequate training, however, has stunted his role as a protector, and as the Lord of Storms. Less concerned with specifically the whole 'protector' business at the moment, his current goals are to get stronger, master his use over Raijin's power. While he has been given a gift of immense power, he is still just an Earthling, and must train his body to be able to utilize and handle the extents of the power. His other goal is to make Zeni. Long-term, he wishes to find out who or what power truly destroyed his village and his people, eventually find the famed Dragon Balls, and wish the Kaminari back.
