They Don't Come in Peace [CONQUEST]

Wizard? NAMEK?? MAKYO!?

Chervii scowled. An unusual expression for the chipper Demon. "Can you all just... SHUT UP!?" Screaming flame erupted in tandem we their frustrated roar, bathing the city in an oppressive wave of heat momentarily. "Firstly. I am not a Wizard. Don't compare me to those scroll-reliant college idiots, or I'll roast you. Secondly. I have no kin on NAMEK; and kindly take your metal souvenir BACK." The impact had been so miniscule Chervii had almost forgotten it'd even happened. Clutching the bullet betwixt their finger and thumb, they'd flick it towards Tekira with enough force to seriously hurt the Earthling!

"Thirdly. This portal is not my doing." They'd glare at both Alva AND Chomei. "I know the pink haired one's default state is bullheaded stupid anger and so his IGNORANCE was to be expected... but, et tu, my metal friend?" Fah. "I don't even LIKE the Makyans! They're like weird third cousins. What I'M doing here is noticing a strange surge of strange magic, thusly investigating. And the camo-wearing one was purposefully hiding her signature. I simply took necessary action to ensure she wouldn't be a threat."

Some sort of odd colored Majin asked Chervii of home, to which they scoffed dismissively. "No Majin spawn in the depths of the Demon Realm unless bound to a master. And you clearly are some sort of defect." Strange. The 'good guys' seemed dead set on exploding Vale as soon as they possibly could - violently, too. Their behavior reminded Chervii more of their fellow Demon soldiers than any sort of mortal hero. 

Chervii's cold beating heart paused as the animalistic spellcaster DARED to dub them prey. "You?" The blinding squall impacted the Demon head on, Chervii scowling as they walked through it with only a few minor cuts to show for it. "You're just a failure with a death wish." Golden fire crackled dangerously as Chervii called upon their magic. "Tin. Best friend," They'd call to Alva. "Allow me free reign over these fools, would you? As you already now know this portal is not my handiwork."

Instead of blasting Meara in direct revenge, Chervii smiled wickedly as they openly aimed at Kim instead. "Prey... yet the very same fleshling you protected is all too weak, isn't she?" Another torrent of fire seemed poised to crash into the militaristic Earthling, engulfing her in dangerous magic. Two smaller bursts of controlled heat went for Meara and Tekira respectively. The one aimed at their gun wielding friend was purposefully held back to the point where it'd knock her clear out as opposed to melting a hole straight through her body.

Before Gira's strike could even meet his target, it was skillfully deflected by another newcomer. When the hero vanished behind her target in an attempt to continue with the attack and give the portal-summoning ne'er-do-well a bop to the head, the woman caught her kick mid-delivery, the Saiyan being stopped in her tracks completely and suddenly, the fighter pushing her back gently. Gira was surprised for a second, mainly at the sudden intervention of the woman, but soon she smiled at the prospect of having an actual fight with this woman. "Nice! You're pretty good. Wish we had time to see who's strongest, but..." She quickly turned her attention back to the villain and stanced up, ready to fight at a moment's notice. It didn't appear that this newcomer was working with the invader. She seemingly didn't even appear to know exactly what was going on. This being the case, Gira pegged her as an ally for now. The young Saiyan looked down at her hands. They were trembling.

She felt like she was about to jump out of her skin. No one had so effortlessly stopped her Justice Smash before. On top of her clear skill in combat, her power was impressive to boot! Being here with so many strong people, all in one place, was a little exciting. It had to be the adrenaline flowing through her veins that made her tremble like this... and that still wasn't everyone. Taken by surprise by the bug-like creature landing near her, Gira immediately felt uncomfortable. 'Of course it looks like a bug... and of course I didn't sense it coming, either.' It must be able to hide its energy. While this creature didn't appear to be with the guy summoning the evil-looking portals, bugs always gave Gira the creeps. The young Saiyan attempted to maintain her readied stance, trying not to let her nervousness show through. However, it would soon be easy to ignore the bug creature near her with the arrival of two new combatants. These two were... the word "loud" was the only thing that came to mind while the Saiyan attempted to figure out if they were friend or foe.

At first, it was the woman who caught her attention. She caught the tail end of her shouting something mean-spirited about the city she loved. Then, it was the man. The power that assaulted her senses with that one was strong indeed. Her attention was soon drawn back to the portal-opener. A Shinjin, he called himself. The young, sheltered Saiyan had no clue what that meant, but she assumed it meant he was an alien? Unbeknownst to her, the truth was far more complicated, but that would suffice for now in her mind. Still... this guy, was smooth. Like, way too smooth. He reminded her of a used car salesman that her mom dated for a month. Gira's mom had always said that the guy was a born liar. For that reason, she was suspicious of him. However, he hadn't made a hostile move yet... unless you consider summoning an unknown portal without a license a hostile move. For now, Saiyagirl decided to not to try for another attack, and another instance on this chaotic battlefield was about to demand her full attention.

A powerful burst of energy caused the hero to turn directly towards the source. It was that one horned woman who tried to attack the Earthling. Three attacks streaked towards three different targets. She only had enough time to go for one. She immediately locked her eyes on the woman with the gun. She was the one who was insulting her city. Still, a hero's job was to try and save everyone, no matter what. Without even thinking, Gira's azure aura flared around her as she leaped from the ground, flying towards Tekira, only hoping she'd make it in time. Imposing herself between Tekira and the attack that threatened to hurt her, Gira looked back briefly and gave her a thumbs up. "Just stay behind me, and everything's gonna be okay." She wasn't sure why she was saying it. The incoming attack was too strong for her to survive as well. All she was really doing was getting herself hurt too. But be that as it may, she had to try! Dammit, if she became a hero for any reason at all, wasn't it for this?  Spreading out her stance to provide more effective cover for her ward, the hero braced for impact.

Suddenly, the searing heat slammed into her body. Her cape caught fire pretty fast, incinerating in seconds. The irresistible heat cracked the glass on her helmet, causing the entire visor to shatter. "Damn, guess I... wasn't strong enough for this after all." On the verge of giving up, a feeling suddenly arose from within the Saiyan. Not excitement, not fear, but anger. Pure, primal anger. If she didn't let it out, the girl felt like she was going to explode. For this reason, she let out a deafening roar as the heat washed over her. When all was said and done, remarkably, the hero was still standing. Her cape was gone. So was half of her helmet as well. She had incurred some serious damage, notably some burns over the entirety of her forearms but she was still in the fight. Gripping the blackened remains of her helmet, she tossed it aside, revealing two glowing yellow eyes. She grit her teeth, barely able to stop the urge to fling herself at this callous villain. "Hey, freak!" Gira growled in Chervii's direction.

"What? You think you're tough? Attacking someone who can't defend themselves from you?" The Saiyan began walking in the demon's direction. Gira twitched and shook, barely containing her anger... but it was growing by the second. Soon, she would have no choice but to let it off the leash. "You're just the same as the crooks I bust in the city, preying on those weaker than you." At this point, Gira was clenching her fists so hard that blood was now dripping down onto the stone. "You're NOTHING... nothing... BUT A LAME-ASS PUNK!!" She couldn't take it anymore. Her mind was completely overcome by wrath. All that remained in her was a desire to destroy her target. Leaping towards Chervii with a roar, Gira wound up a punch before flinging it towards the demon's stomach, aiming to send her rocketing into the air before holding onto her right forearm with her left hand, a blue orb of ki quickly growing in front of her palm, expanding to the size of a beach ball. With one final roar, the enraged hero threw the ki towards her target. Realistically, this attack wouldn't come anywhere close to obliterating her foe like Gira's rage demanded, but she would fight til the end no matter what.

A few other interesting faces had dropped in since Morrigan included herself in the situation. Three humans were among them, including a vaguely familiar one with long pink hair, but most demanding of her attention was the insect-like being who’d flown down and offered amicable support of her own question. Though unexpected, it was not unwelcome. Being substantially less helpful, the Shinjin she’d just defended gave only a vague explanation between warping around with a familiar ability. Morrigan’s brow furrowed, trying to decide on the best course of action.

Others seemed to be suffering from less indecision. While the girl she’d already repelled seemed more mindful of her next move — her spirit not going without an acknowledging nod from Morrigan — others had already let loose. Mostly towards the Shinjin, though the satyr woman’s other trick did not escape notice. Snapping a hand out to catch the red thread escaping her, she twisted the energy between her fingers and let it fray apart into nothing. It may not have been a malevolent technique, but she was better safe than sorry. Speaking of which…

“I think it’s best you call this off or try it elsewhere,” Morrigan advised Vale, pointedly stepping out of the line of fire. Individually, she might have been able to “convince” the others that talking things out would be easier, but their collective strength was far too much for her. No, try as she might, it was a fight now. With a heavy sigh as opposed to furious exertion, Morrigan’s power climbed to its height.

Goodness, where to start? The most powerful present was the demon as best she could tell, already aggressing against three foes themself. If their extremely emphatic explanation was to be believed, they had no hand in the portal’s inception anyway. Though letting them go wild didn’t seem much more appealing. And then there was the other Majin, coming out of the woodwork just to make things more difficult for the witch. Maybe she knew more, but all the hostility headed her way would make it hard to find out. Morrigan supposed she’d start there, then.

Striding across the field, Morrigan interposed herself at Meara’s side, spinning on a dime to level her power in the satyr’s favour. The blazing shots fired by Chervii were beyond her, but the Majin’s attack was much more manageable. With her hand outstretched, Morrigan struck in time to shatter the arrow of energy into ribbons that washed harmlessly over them.

“You don’t make a good case for yourself either, to be candid,” She tossed the comment over her shoulder to Meara, sounding typically disinterested in spite of the situation. Despite her tone, Morrigan was tense, taking care not to enter an aggressive stance just yet. His attack had been handled, but the Majin seemed powerful nevertheless. Although remaining at her defense, the martial artist’s criticism of the witch wasn’t finished. “I’d suggest you leave as well if you’re only going to cause more problems. If I heard correctly and the Makyo Star is anything like the tales I’ve been told, it’s certainly not good, but it will be handled.”

At the same time, Morrigan clocked Gira’s retaliation against Chervii, not at all helping her nerves. Although the younger fighter was stronger than meets the eye, she was also just that. Young. Morrigan hoped she could hold out long enough for the situation to diffuse somewhat. Or failing that, for the demon to find someone more worth their ire.

"I was made on this planet. I can tell you more after this is over." Kyten answered bluntly. He tried to focus on the others speaking to try and learn what was happening, why everyone had gathered here. He noted that the swirling vortex went unexplained by Vale beyond the vague promises of an opportunity for power and alien visitors. Kyten didn't know if that was good or bad, but many seemed to have a problem with him regardless. It seems he would need to rely on those around him to explain.

Initially, their reasoning wasn't there. Of those who assaulted the likely Shinjin, the brown being was the first to offer an explanation. Unfortunately, his reasoning was so stupid as to rely on names alone which meant nothing to Kyten. The legless human and the human with goat's feet provided no explanation for their attacks, only speaking to themselves. Kyten was fully prepared to retaliate against one of them, for attacking another without reason.

As he prepared to fire a beam at the goat-human, a machine charged forward for a melee blow. The machine was the only one to give reasoning to this, but that explanation told Kyten all that he needed to know. Vale was opening a portal to cause a demonic invasion.

Machines didn't lie. Kyten had been told this; they had no reason to do so and should therefore be trusted. At worst, they could be given the wrong information and could be incorrect for that reason. They certainly could have an incorrect goal. However, with the information he had, what the robot said made sense. The swirling black that he stood before them. The 'surprise' that Vale stated would come, the alien visitors and the opportunity for strength. That's why Vale wasn't forthcoming with what he was doing, why he dodged a clear answer. It all made sense. Though Vale hadn't lied, he was hiding his intentions; Kyten didn't know why Vale chose to not simply lie, but it helped his decision.

Like Shinjin, demons were a largely unknown quantity. Unlike Shinjin, Kyten assumed them to be negative. This was not through any specific experience, simply from what little he knew of their tales. More importantly, the computer stated it was an invasion that Vale planned. Vale was no innocent party, attacked by senseless parties. He was trying to invade Earth. To hurt Earth's people. And Kyten was right next to him.

Abruptly, his arm swung wildly from his previous target to the Shinjin. Without saying a word, the buglike being shot a thin but powerful beam from the small hole in the clawed palm. Its purpose was no more or less than to puncture Vale's chest, likely a lung if he had one. Kyten barely thought about the action at all. He was the target, he was the threat. Vale was the cause of this. He had to be stopped. Others here may threaten individuals, but Vale threatened an invasion. The others could be handled later, for they were not threatening Earth.

The smile did not waver. There was no anger in the action, only acknowledgement that this was what Kyten had to do. What he was supposed to do.

It took a lot for him to hold himself back. His inner fury called out for revenge—Vengeance for his failure to stop the dastardly duo at Mount Frappe. He almost didnt process Alva's reply as she turned... The blood pumping in his ears nearly shutting her out. He vaguely looked at Kim, who Alva had apparently saved. She seemed to be going on some sort of rampage, perhaps possessed by the foul magick permeating in the wind.

His frown only widened as he turned his attention back to the woman. Does she think i'm stupid? He grumbled silently. The demon yelled something, and Chomei turned his attention on them. Chervii was apparently renouncing any involvment with... whatever was going on here. Yeah right! He growled. Someway, somehow... Chervii had a part in this—There was no doubt in his mind. This Chervii fellow thrived on chaos; The fact that they'd shown up here and at Frappe could be no coincidence.

On that note... He realized he hadnt the faintest clue what was going on. He'd kinda arrived after things had kicked off. The others seemed to be attacking somebody near a growing... Portal? It was magical, that was certain. Maybe the guy was with these two, he wondered. Regardless... His instinct told him that the portal was the source of the foul feeling he now felt. Alva and Chervii had been speaking amongst themselves, and came to an agreement. Having diverted his attention momentarily, he only heard the last part.

There was a lot of stuff happening all at the same time. And for a creature lacking an actual physical brain, Bean! was having a hell of a time keeping up with it all. Yes, definitely Bean! was having trouble keeping his facts straight, and not me. The narrator...

He ignored the weird pink demon thing [CHERVII] for now. They were rude, and refused to admit that they smelled like coffee mountain and they called Bean! a defect when his name was clearly Bean! so they obviously were a little bit dumb as well. The time for asking more questions would come, but it was not right now.

What did draw his attention was the righteous calling of Earth's greatest hero. Or at least [TEKIRA] claimed she was as such. And who was Bean! to doubt a claim of a more experienced Superhero. "ME AM EXCITE TO MEET YOU! ME AM CAPTAIN BEAN! WHAT IS BE PLAN?!" He called to her, eyes filled with wonder and excitement to be in the presence of such an apparent legend.

And then she caught fire...

Bean! was stunned. How could such a mighty warrior be taken out? It must've been the surprise attack. He had clearly accidentally distracted this great legend and whoever threw the fire took advantage. He had done this...he had gotten them killed.

"YOU AM MANIACS! YOU AM BLEWED THEM UP! BEAN! AM DAMN YOU! BEAN! AM DAMN YOU ALL TO HIFL!"

The Majin was filled with rage and sorrow at their fallen mentor, but before he could seek out their 'killer' he was distracted by another voice, more familiar this time [SAGAN]. Someone asking if he was Bean? Heh, the disguise had worked perfectly. They thought he was some idiot called Bean? when secretly he was a handsome genius called Bean!

"ME AM NOT KNOW WHO YOU AM SPEAK OF CITIZEN! ME AM CAP-"

All of a sudden Bean!'s head took on an unfamiliar and more squiggly shape as a foot that had not previously been there suddenly entered the space his head had been occupying. His squishy, stretchy form malleably curved around the foot before the shockwave of the impact sent him flying. But whomever had kicked Bean! in the head clearly didn't realise what a handsome genius he truly was.

A stretchy brown hand would wrap around the leg of his attacker [JYUSHIN.] The arm expanding even as Bean! soared away from the impact point. But eventually the arm would stop expanding, and in fact would start retracting at rapid speeds as the Hero Majin came sailing back through the air towards the fashionable pink fellow. 

"BEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"

A sudden uppercut would be delivered to Jyushin as Bean! retracted back into him, sending both Majin flying up into the air. Provided Jyushin didn't do anything to prevent this of course. 

Bean! would not throw any more punches as they flew up, instead he would wait until they were at the apex of their leap, just before they started falling and would fold his arms in a scolding manner. "YOU AM KILL CITY HERO? ARE YOU AM SORRY?!"
