A tiny black point, below anyone’s notice, was ‘attached’ to the slightest speck of dust. This speck of dust drifted at the subtle, inconsistent whims of the winds until, eventually, it found itself tucked into the crevasse of the side mirror of a truck for a full four hours. Then, a few hours beyond even that, the mote of dust flew away with a particularly potent breeze and stuck around on a rock for a little while before eventually winding up on a tumbleweed. It tumbled, and tumbled, and tumbled, reaching further and further into the area that the locals called the Gizard Wasteland. There was a tower of some note somewhere nearby, but FTAGN is not there… was not there, right, the passage of time and all that. But would be there, in time. That much was inevitable.
Eventually, this tumbleweed would get caught on the thorns of one of the wasteland’s cactuses— you could tell it was still on the outskirts of the wasteland because there were whole cactuses here, and therefore enough water to satisfy their basic needs— and it was here when something quite strange happened. On that ‘slightest speck of dust’ there was a rather small… thing. A ‘particle’, almost, that was a void in perception, textureless but small enough that its texturelessness did not stand out… and it grew. Touching this cactus, this living thing, the corpuscle expanded outwards. It grew to the size of a pebble, then a rat, and soon enough the nature of its texturelessness became apparent: it was entirely black, in a way that made the lighting inconsequential. It was massless, without substance, and yet there it was! What was it? Or, perhaps, rather, what was ?
There was no ‘FTAGN’, not here, not now, not yet, not as such. responded to the cactus, but was not sapping its energy: no, was recognising its form, and emulating it. Meaning? Meaning that, in the middle of this dessert, slowly growing, was a lump of black immaterial, lumpy but shifting like a balloon filled with beans and dotted with the spines of a cactus.
But the winds were not done with , and soon enough this spiked lump was traveling into the lifeless innards of Gizard Wasteland proper. was changing shape strangely often, emulating what little surrounded it, while the sheer black texturelessness of made such a standout sight that anyone flying overhead could easily catch sight of . And here’s hoping someone does: FTAGN gave off no ki signature at all, utterly unsensable.
