What was Amara, if not fashionably late to potential genocide? The woman sighed as she slipped on the last bits to her hastily finished suit, interlocks comfortably nestling plates and connections into place. The NEO platform had initially been planned to come with an extreme stimulant to boost her battle power to new heights, but with the strict schedule a looming attack on Hatchi gave her, integrated weapons and defense systems were pretty much all that could be managed. Predictably her comm lines were flooded with messages as the attack went underway, Amara hiding a wince as she donned her helmet. "Set all incoming messages to be text-converted and mute notifications."
So far, there had been a lot of screaming, a lot of posturing, and - in her opinion - not a lot of balancing. With all the alacrity she could muster, Amara turned her attention to a different matter. Learning that the Saiyan monarch had been stowing away in Hatchi's research underbelly would raise questions later if anyone found out, but the decision to do so just a short day prior was paying off. "Activate the M.A.P. bots we have available. Deploy Saiyan troops in optimal position to engage invading units." What was a test run with the likes of STINGER, ROGUE, and CAVALIER had turned into a successful but stunted program.
Across the city, vaguely humanoid bipedal machines with digitigrade legs emerged from compact storage, clicking and whirring into place as they readied themselves for battle. Each was armed with an integrated blaster and additional 'handheld' heavy rifle capable of putting severe dents in even the strongest infantry, though the androids' number was far lesser.
These personal forces, along with a select amount of squads from the Saiyan elites, meant Amara was not bringing the might of the army to bear. It was a tactical decision. Trying to maneuver that many troops into a defensive position without receiving crossfire from OUTSIDE the walls was a disaster waiting to happen.
Finally, Amara emerged from underground, her anti-sensing ability slipping off as she came face to face with chaos itself. Ignoring the abhorrent immediate destruction of the city center and the not no subtle streaks of red painted across the rubble, Amara's mind forced itself into the mission.
"Target priority..." While the maniac Lottus was attracting the most attention with his vulgar display, he was far from the most significant threat. A stronger signature was rapidly approaching the city, and one ever so slightly larger hovered above them all. She vaguely recognized it, confusion growing as to why some uptight Shinjin was now trying to bombard Hatchi on the side of a psychopathic Saiyan.
The other forces and fighters at play were ignored as Amara climbed into the sky, arms outstretched as a brilliant sheet of shining white-blue hardlight formed, interlocking hexagons standing as a firm net to Ward's attempted attack. Jagaimo had beaten her to the proverbial punch and was making a bold if not vain effort to try and stop it. The initial cavalcade of meteoric debris was caught in her web, shifting together and wrapping around the magically created copy to halt its momentum. While she'd succeeded in stopping the barrage, Hatchi was left with the problem of a city's worth of debris pushing against her construct, threatening to break free and tumble down below. "Jagaimo, we need you on surface level! I can handle it from here!"
Amara's breath hitched as she continued weaving fresh hardlight to keep the net intact, reaching out to Ward telepathically: "Considering you made it all the way to the battle part of this whole kerfuffle, I assume you're not going to just back down if I ask nicely. Still, uh, could you please not do this? I'm not gonna claim to know WHY you're here... but if you told me, maybe we could work something out. You don't strike me as the Lottus type of person." There had been the whole spiel about balance and whatnot, but wasn't balance of life and death supposed to be obtained WITHOUT a Shinjin's intervention? One personally assisting in the near genocide of an entire species didn't seem very balanced to her... but of course, Amara was not the Kai here.
A younger her would've likely flown into a rage at Ward and his attempt at 'balance' - and truthfully, she still felt the urge to protect her people through blood - but Amara had made peace with that part of herself. She wasn't fully Saiyan; Rage would only do her harm. Hopefully, the melting pot of battle powers could handle rescuing the remaining civilians. Though the REASON for Lottus' attack meant airlifting or shielding any scientists and engineers would make the rescuers prime targets - and it was hard to say that letting any of them go was the right call given how easily a single man or woman could leak the secrets of refined Destron out of revenge and start the whole damn process over again.
"This is Amara speaking." A second blast of telepathy entered select minds: Vocado, Nasu, Korado. "I've got the storm covered for now. I'll holler if I need help. Focus on preserving the civilians first and kicking the asses of the perps second." And then a third - directed at a certain purple-haired Saiyan: "Cato. I guess you're with Lottus out of obligation, whether that's because he has something over you or it's just a matter of friendship... that's for you to know. Please consider what helping him here means. You'll be forgiven if you don't stop us - I won't ask you to fight Lottus." And a final to another familiar attacker: "Marimba! Did you forget about Konats? Tell me what you're looking for, and we can help you get it without needing to help Lottus in this madness."
