Crap. Even more people.
Erebos had a bit of a problem with crowds. It wasn’t so much the influx of people themselves, but all the extra noise that polluted the air. Loud noises always made it hard to think. Hard to quip, too.
But he didn’t let it deter him. Not this time. He gave the Arcosian a roll of the eyes in response, and allowed one of his shadowy hands to extend and wave at the new arrival.
Giving Fukushu a sneer, he refuted the Herman’s claim. ”Hey now, I’m plenty strong. I would’ve beat Azoth in that big tournament on earth a couple months back, but I got disqualified, on account of my sleeping habits.”
Try as he might, Tendatha’s existence had once again gotten on Erebos’ nerves. Her snide remarks set his blood ablaze. How dare she quip back at him!
He raised his finger to speak, but held it for just a moment. He’d be the bigger man, today. Help her out. Then she’d see who the real troublemaker was.
”Can’t say many Kai’s of note have crossed my path lately. There’s Fend, the rascal, but she’s been missing for months now. And there’s always Ward, the strong silent type that he is, but he’s vanished on me too. I know Ward was here on Konats, but I haven’t been able to track him down since I got here. Suffice it to say, if you’re looking for either of them, you’re plum out of luck for now.”
With a wave of his hand, a string of pictures floated about above his head. Pictures of Ward and Fend danced around, floating near Tendatha to try and get her attention. If either of them were her target, she’d at least be able to identify them.
But his focus suddenly shifted. At the mention of arcosians being strong, he wheeled back around, sliding closer to Fukushu and… The Arcosian he’d already forgotten the name of.
”Tch. Strong schmong. If he was so special don’t you think he’d be at the tournament grounds?” He sent a nudging elbow toward Isikiy. ”No offense, of course.”
With a sigh, he placed his hands on his hips. ”Shame I missed it. I was gonna sign up, but my fighting buddy was out of town. Shame shame. A tag-team tournament is pretty rare; maybe they’ll do it again next year.”
Oh yeah. He’d entirely forgotten about the robot ball thing he was talking to earlier.
”I think this conglomerate pile of misfits is your fault, ball boy. Asking so many questions got folks curious.”
