TAORI'S PL: 60,000 |
ACTIVE TRANSFORMATIONS: None |
Here they were. As hundreds of Saiyan soldiers and their allies marched on the fields outside of Hatchi City, it was time to bring about an end to a generations-long conflict. Time to bring an end to the war that had consumed not just Taori's life, but the lives of every Saiyan he'd ever met. The war that had driven good men mad, and made heroes of cowards. All in all, it was about damn time they just stopped with the fighting. That might have been a strange thing for a Saiyan of all people to say, but Taori supposed Alpinia and all his other peace-preferring friends had rubbed off on him too much for the part of him that lusted for battle to say no to the idea of peace. Though he knew not all Saiyans shared this sentiment. Many of them would have turned up their noses at the idea of some 'pathetic peace treaty' signed over diplomacy. And he was quite certain that many wouldn't accept such a weak ending to a war their loved ones had fought and died honorable deaths in.
So that was why, as Taori led hundreds of Saiyan soldiers to march on Hatchi City, the looming Tuffle Capital growing slightly larger with each step they took, he had hatched a plan. As far as he was aware, he and Cheri were the only two souls aware of this plan, save for Amara. The Saiyans would get their glorious final battle, as they raided the capital city and 'forced' Cheri into submission, where they would sign a surrender treaty officially ending the war in a Tuffle defeat - provided all things went well.
The key factor was, Cheri was on board with all of this.
Taori's soldiers wouldn't have known it, but Cheri had likely long evacuated the city of any civilians who may have gotten caught in the crossfire. What largely remained in Hatchi would most probably be its defenders and machines, and Taori had conveyed orders to his men that they were to, as best they could, force the enemy into surrender and retreat, and not to kill indiscriminately. Some disliked the idea, though he had assured them they could let loose all they wanted aside from that caveat.
Everything depended on how well this went, though - the hardest part was that only he and Cheri knew of this plan, so it wasn't out of the question for someone who knew nothing to throw things out of whack. "I don't pray often - or, at all, actually, but for the love of God, I hope this works out," Taori silently thought as his army came to a halt before the city.
Using his scouter, Taori projected his voice across the city frequency he'd received access to, the Saiyan's words booming through nearly every speaker in Hatchi. "Tuffles of Hatchi City - this is Taori, King of the Saiyans. My army is here. We are ending this war today, whether you are ready or not. I will offer you this one chance: surrender, our face the full might of the Vegetan army. The choice is yours."
Cheri was, of course, not supposed to surrender, but things were largely out of Taori's hands at this point. He waited with baited breath as he could only hope both the more potent soldiers who stood behind him, the powerful Tuffle defenders who remained in the city, and any others who might interfere wouldn't get in the way of the plan. If things went well, then this really was it.
This would be the war's end.
Taori is leading the Saiyan army in an assault against Hatchi City! If he succeeds, the war will be over and the Saiyans will be victorious!
