TAORI'S PL: 3,000 | ALPINIA'S PL: 2,000 |
ACTIVE TRANSFORMATIONS: None |
For once, Taori had allowed Alpinia to actually come with him on a foray out into the neutral region, where neither Saiyan nor Tuffle had claimed dominance. Specifically, they were headed out to the Mercenary Outpost, a lawless land where backstabbers, thieves, and murderers frequented, each of them hoping to score a job that required the use of those skills. And it was quite telling of Taori that he felt safer in this place than he did in the vicinity of any Tuffles. "Yeah, I don't know about this place," Alpinia said as she clutched Taori's arm while they walked. Taori couldn't help but smirk. "Why? You're always pretty insistent on coming with to these things. I thought you'd enjoy it."
Alpinia tightened her lips in discomfort as she glanced around, then replied, "Okay, well, I guess I thought the places outside Vegeta would be a bit less... Run down? Depressing? Kind of scary?" Taori shook his head. "Alright, come on, there's honestly nothing to be scared of. Quite frankly, even your power level is higher than loads of these guys." All it took was a quick tap of his scouter to prove himself right. A few high power levels roamed here and there, but most everyone was only in either the double or triple digits.
And, speaking of triple digits, some little schmuck with a power level of 230 waddled up to the Saiyan pair and pulled a... Knife? Taori blinked down at the sorry excuse of a weapon, though Alpinia seemed fairly threatened by this. "Come on, scouters, hand 'em over or get gutted," the thug warned. Alpinia hurriedly started to take off her own scouter, but Taori held out his hand to stop her. "Alright, pal, I'm with my wife, so you're lucky. If she wasn't here, you'd have already gone flying through that wall over there. So I'm gonna nicely tell you to-" The thug moved to attack, but he'd barely even had time to blink before he was suddenly on the other end of the wall Taori had mentioned earlier.
And then, the entire building that the thug had been knocked through began to creak, shift, and collapse, quite loudly and dramatically, until it was a pile of large, fresh rubble. Taori blinked at the destruction he'd caused in surprise. "I... Guess that was a load-bearing wall?" he said as he glanced over at Alpinia, who was more concerned with the many eyes that were now upon them from the passersby around them. Whatever, Taori thought. It wasn't like that would draw the ire of someone with the power to do anything about it, right?
