Whatever the person creating this game had in mind it seemed it wasn't going to plan. Either the ones that had wandered into his maze were stronger than they had anticipated, or they were in fact spreading themselves too thin. Something was off, and as time went on however short it was, that was becoming more apparent as both tried testing out the clones and the game.
The clone Erebos was locking with seemed the most affected by whatever was happening as it became immediately apparent as they began to mess with Saizomaru's clone. It was almost as if the Erebos clone had no strength of its own, even blinking out of existence it seemed a few times leaving Erebos to momentarily be grasping at air before the clone reappeared. It was similar to a glitch in a video game as it flashed, but trucker Saizomaru didn't seem affected the same way.
Both tables suddenly blinked away and the room started to darken similar to someone pulling down a dimmer switch. Erebos' clone disappeared entirely leaving only the other still grasping Saizomaru's arm firmly before it was gone as well.
"OH, YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS THE DIFFICULT PATH? SHALL WE TURN IT UP FOR THEM?"
The audience screamed loudly in response before the sound of their cheering faded into silence as the room continued to dim until there was barely enough light to see. The room was silent of any noise but there own movements for a few minutes, but any movement would have given away what was happening as there would have been the sound of sloshing liquid.
Below there feet water began to rise, increasing in speed over time until it was up to their ankles less than a minute later, and any entrance or exits they had seen before were gone.
"TIC TOK"
At the word tic a copy of Saizomaru blinked in front of him then disappeared, and at Tok the same for Erebos. As if there all along, a large analog circular clock began to glow bright blue from across the room attached to the wall. It didn't seem to have any sort of countdown associated, but the tick sound of the hands moving was audible. At each alternating ticking of the clock one of their clones would appear in front of them, not as the redneck variations, and less so attempted clones, but almost like they were staring into a mirror.
