Cassidy's smile widened as apparently two of the three new individuals he had just made acquaintances with had a decent sense of humor, allowing a chuckle to leave his lips as both Alva and Mirin shot the soldier of fortune a howdy in return to his own. He took no offense to their potentially mocking replies though, Cowboy was definitely one of, if not the most laidback individual that their group now came to house within their ranks, and really couldn't care less. So long as they watched his back, got him paid, and offered up a good time or two, the older veteran was sure that they'd all get along just fine.
Hell, most of the people here he got along relatively well with, Derry being of course having the advantage as he was the one who Cassidy met first out of the rest of the lot. Although, surprisingly enough, despite Yangcong being the only man he had ran a single mission with, as well as he being the second member Cassidy had the opportunity to spend a good amount of time with, he didn't necessarily vibe too well with the man. It was mostly business when it came to anything Yangcong related, and while he wasn't one for waiting around, it wouldn't kill the guy to stop and smell the roses from time to time.
Such an inherent bias only grew with Yangcong's greeting toward the cowboy, with Cerrone's expression twitching slightly at his less than hospitable attempt at a hello. Still, he had a point, it was his fault that he had been late to a momentous occasion like this one was set to be, so he supposed Yangcong had an okay-ish reason for being such a stickler this time around.
In response, Cassidy nodded his head in his general direction, replying in a slightly forced cordial tone as he readjusted himself against the wall, "Apologies, friend- you know how things are. Plus, these past few days I've spent trying to get myself into shape for that upcoming Tenkaichi Budokai that you yourself mentioned, Derry, so I'm exhausted as is."
"However, I ain't too sure if I'll be competing, actually- about a day or so back I think I injured something important in my right leg, and it's really putting a dampener down on my mobility. Coaches and the rest of my team say I should pull out, get it checked and righted, so we'll see if I end up competing anyways. Either way, I'm not too worried."
A twinkle in his eye sparkled just for a moment as he looked over the other three besides Yangcong and Derry before stating in a confident tone, "If you youngins are as fierce as Derry has stated you to be, well, I ain't too worried about our chances then. If you need anything from me, training, teachin', whatever- let me know. I might be getting on in years, but I sure as hell know a thing or two about the fight game."
During his small tangent, Cassidy's gaze had eventually chosen to focus specifically on Kon herself amidst its duration, his curiosity about the spunky young blood growing with each small bit of information about her through remarks thrown by Derry and herself here and there only helping to act as kindling for the fire that was Cassidy's growing interest in her potential. Sure, she was wild, a loose cannon in most definitely every sense of the word, but, she had a great amount of promise as well. But then again, seeing as she was of the "great warrior race", that didn't really surprise him all that much.
Choosing to ignore her sage advice, Cassidy tipped his hat toward her, saying in a friendly tone, "Specially you, Kon, was it? You've got some mighty fine potential there. If you need someone you won't constantly be at odds with to help ya bring it out, well, you know who to call on."
Finally, his attention returned to the rest of the group proper, with Cerrone remaining somewhat attentive to what both Derry and Yangcong had to say, though, he'd be lying if it hadn't already heard it all before. The whole rival gangs debacle was one that the cattleman was more than accustomed to, and even without his experience in mercenary work it was quite a simple calculus to deduce. Money equals status, status equals power, etcetera, etcetera. He's been there, done that.
Though, he was hoping the journey they took to get into such a position was something new and novel enough for his tastes.
Perking up as he heard his name being uttered, Cassidy looked over at Mirin, shaking his head as the masked man inquired whether or not he had anything further to add to the discussion, simply stating, "Nah, not really feller. I've said my piece, and everything I needed to hear has already been said. Oh, though I do have one thing."
Focusing on Alva for a moment before eventually placing his eyes once more on the group, Cassidy pulled his revolver out from the holster, spinning it for a few seconds upon his finger before halting its motion and holding it firmly within his grip, showing it to the party before saying, "If ya'll know someone who can help with some modifications I need done on my equipment, let me know. Since I've grown quite a bit in the strength department since I've saddled up with you people, my equipment needs a bit of tweakin' so that it can handle my surge in strength."
"Besides that though?"
With a dramatic flourish, in one smooth motion, Cassidy returned the gun to his belt.
"Ain't nothing else I got to say."
