CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
Cassidy has been blessed by the biological lottery, remaining young looking even well into the sell by date for most former MMA fighters his age. Despite all the fights and several warring battles he's been through throughout his career, Cowboy remains relatively unscathed- naught but a single nick on his body. He sits at exactly six feet tall and weighs in at one hundred seventy pounds, his peach colored physicality in incredible shape- an aftereffect of over twenty years spent in a physically demanding profession. Toned, built, and blessed with plenty of reach, Cassidy normally shaves the dark blonde hair off his head, preferring to be bald most of the time, and often times sports a beard with his look as well. As for clothing, in more casual situations, he'll mostly wear anything, even pairing a fitting cowboy hat with most outfits he wears, as it is partially his calling card.
While in the field doing his mercenary work, however, Cassidy sports a large, tan trench coat with fastened riot gear along with it that goes along with his brown eyes- normally working with a riot helmet fixed upon his head as well, heavy combat boots, black combat slacks, and leather gloves covering the rest of his body.
BACKGROUND: Born out of one of the more south western parts of the world, Cassidy Cerrone was attracted to all things fighting even at a young age. Although his parents were able to keep him mostly in line, primed and proper, while he was in their line of sight, the young boy when he had free reign was quite a different story.
Despite being barely a toddler, Cassidy knack for fighting manifested itself quite early on. It wasn't as though he was a mean or spiteful person that sought to start things unnecessarily as some unruly youths that took to fighting usually happened to be, in fact he was taught to be quite the gentleman by his southern natured parents. However, there was a reason why he did hunger for the rush of a good bout. It was one of the things that he was able to pick up as though it had always been second nature for him. Math, reading, the arts- all of that normal stuff that children his age liked to do Cassidy wasn't able to pick up nearly as easily as he could his own two fists.
As a means of remedying such a lack of skill in any other department, and debatably as a means to gain his parents' approval through ways besides academic progression, Cassidy began to work hard at his craft- and while starting off he was as graceful as fish in a barrel, eventually his parents caught on to what his true passion in life was, and began to fund his venture into combat substantially.
He became a pro at the age of seventeen, but despite this his skill and passion for the fight game shone tried and true in the first few fights of his blossoming MMA career. Soon enough, "Cowboy" Cerrone had quickly made a name for himself and ensconced his place as one of, if not the Greatest Fighter of All Time, a status given by his becoming of a two weight world champion in his MMA organization (The UCF, Ultimate Combat Federation), and by his achievement of becoming the all time leader in wins and in finishes.
He was also able to forge many a friendship during the expanse of his venture, something that as a child had proved very difficult originally- with one of them being with fellow GOAT contender in the female division of the sport, Acerola- also known by her MMA alias, Ms. Tique. To Cassidy, though, from the beginning and to now, she'll always be known affectionately, and teasingly, as Ace. Their relationship was an odd one, however, very much being on and off due to the constant clashing of their dissimilar personalities and philosophies.
Despite these distractions however, Cassidy continued to forge his way to super stardom in his chosen passion. However, due to a line of losses to lesser opposition in the twilights of his career staining his otherwise spotless fighting record, along with the loss of popularity and thus profitability in MMA due to the popularization of Ki within martial arts now taking the viewing public by storm- why watch two regular dudes fighting when you could watch crazy fire fights with pretty laser lights added into the mix- Cassidy knew that he was faced with a split in his path. Hang up the gloves and try to retire gracefully, or revolutionize his fighting style, in order to help keep up with the changing times.
Cassidy knew all too well that path that he had secured himself upon. Fighting was all he had come to know, and he was still yearning for a chance to prove that he could still hang with the best of the best, the cream of the crop of martial arts, after the disasters that had left him with heavy doubt in the latter end of his career.
So, bidding farewell to his longtime MMA gym, giving thanks and wishes of luck to his fellow teammates and lifelong coaches, Cassidy left and went on to reach for bigger and better things- that of which being the pursuit of access to one of the more prominent names when it came to schools that helped to combine the best of both the martial arts and Ki related worlds. Cowboy was of course talking about the well known Turtle School, whose popularity had risen considerably along with the spread of knowledge of Ki control on Earth as a whole.
Thankfully, due to his star power and inherent promise as a pupil, Cassidy was able to get in good with one of the instructors at the dojo, and after a year of instruction (he was able to pick up MMA and fighting like it was second nature, combining it with the concept of Ki control was a whole nother' beast however) Cassidy left the school a revitalized fighter. While things like his chin wasn't all that it used to be, and his physical conditioning now a step or two behind his younger days, Cerrone was still a dangerous fighter as is- especially now that he had the ability of Ki control within his arsenal.
The problem now, was, that in the midst of his kit's retooling so to speak, his MMA license had expired, and he was also then promptly pulled out of their substance testing pool, which meant that he had essentially been retired without his own knowing. This did not bode well for him, as he also had become quite tight budget wise considering the lifestyle he lived as a fighter and how much it took to sustain it. He'd be homeless by the time the paperwork to return to the UCF had even been filed properly for looking over.
Seeing as he needed some form of funding lickety split, Cassidy suddenly found himself in the midst of the world of mercenary work. His experience when it came to hand to hand combat, decent awareness of the concept of controlling his own Ki, and his sizable skill as a marksman- he had learned how to use a plethora of weapons in the many off seasons of his past fights, as in his own words, no good cowboy goes his life without knowing how to use a six shooter- all pointed him to the conclusion that he'd make good bank off of performing a hit or two. It wasn't the most respectable line of work, as he was still killing people, even if he tried to pick the ones that were supposedly bad people as his targets, but it definitely got the job done in terms of cashflow in the end.
And from there on, it was history. Cassidy's mercenary work provided him with enough money to pay his dues, allowing for him to not only keep the eight acres of land he had purchased in order to live with a bit of privacy, but also his lovingly named BMF Ranch that he had for his own personal use, for, well, ranching, as well as training. He even made up with Acerola of all things- and while they weren't back together per se, they did now share the same roof with each other, so he supposed it wasn't entirely out of the realm of possibility.
As for why Cassidy continues to work himself in such a high risk yet high reward environment, he himself doesn't really know. Was it because of the sting from the last few losses within his otherwise fantastic career making him doubt the one thing he ever had been good at in his life, and the need to reassure himself that such losses were flukes and that this was something that he truly shined within? Or was it something more than that? Was it because he feared fading away into obscurity, afraid of being forgotten, and now needed to sustain the high and the gratification that came from having the kind of reputation, fame, and notoriety he had gained from being a fighter in the first place? To ensure that someone, anyone, would remember his name long past his time was done?
Either way, win or lose, Cassidy "Cowboy" Cerrone was sure to show up and show out, every damn time.

COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
Light Attack || Wildman's Rowdy RoundhouseADDITIONAL NOTES: Just for future reference, his whole tree is going to be differently named, so here it is;
Cassidy starts out in an orthodox stance, waiting for his opponent to throw a single strike that he is then able to parry with his rear hand. Once parried, Cowboy then immediately switches stances so that he is able to load up his left leg, moving it far enough backwards to allow for enough forward momentum coming back to swing and land right on the opponent's chin whilst encasing his leg in bright orange Ki for added effect, potentially causing major concussive damage.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Bleed
Medium Attack || Ten Cent Takedown
Considering his full MMA background wasn't just comprised of kickboxing, Cassidy in this technique attempts to fake the opponent out with a straight jab, only to stop the action midway and immediately shoot for a takedown. Instead of the classic takedown, however, Cassidy grabs the opponent by the upper body, and uses his pure strength to slam them straight into the ground, hoping to halt their momentum momentarily.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Exhausting
Heavy Defense || Deadeye Defense
Knowing that his chin isn't all that it used to be, Cassidy utilizes his years of experience and rehearsal of head movement in order to both evade and deflect most attacks coming his way. Through a combination of upper body movement, lower body movement, and various blocks and parries, Cassidy is able to dodge or block most attacks based on his movement and placement alone- his perception becoming much higher than usual, allowing for him to perceive actions as though time has slowed considerably.
Power: 100%
KP Cost: 5 KP
Variants: Evasive
Sparking Medium || High Noon
Focus. Mark. Draw. Cassidy utilizes his aforementioned slower perception of time and takes a few precious moments to aim with his Ki-powered six shooter; when he's ready to fire, he fans his revolver's hammer and rapidly shoots every enemy in his line of sight with Ki-imbued ammunition. Usually when using this technique, Cassidy forms a Ki tumbleweed and allows it to roll out across the battlefield as a tell-tale sign for his teammates as to what his plan is, as well as a means of distracting his enemies as to what his true intent is.
Power: 70%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Preparation, Splitting+
Utility Technique || Flight
The user manipulates their Ki energy so that they can levitate or fly.
Utility Technique || Energy Sense
Ki Sense, also called Reading Ki, is an ability that allows the user to sense Ki and power levels.
Support || Weathered Warrior's Will (MAX Power)
you may opt to increase all techniques by 10%. This will drain Momentum at a cost of 1 per turn and prevents you from using evasive techniques, escapes, and blocking escapes. You will be unable to gain any momentum during this effect. If you run out of MP while using MAX Power, you lose its effects immediately and can not gain any MP on your next turn. You may only deactivate MAX Power at the conclusion of your turn. You will still lose MP for the turn you turned it off on.
