Tambo rushed away from the Saiyans to rejoin the main battlefield upon seeing the charging supernova. While the Namekian had little time to consider the crux of this battle, now he understood just how much of a threat Yangcong was. To push someone to that extent while being unequivocally portrayed as the most evil man in the galaxy…but it didn’t sit right with Tambo. Was that really the same man he had met those years ago? That one that struggled to know which path to take for the survival of his people.
Upon rejoining the main fight, Tambo realized he couldn’t set foot down on the ground for it was shielded by the same one charging the giant sphere of ki up in the sky. A smart move and proof of his commitment to keeping the land free of harm…for the most part. What little doubt that still dwelled within Tambo’s heart about Ticoga evaporated in that instant. He would be at peace with that.
He noticed the older man, Yangcong himself. Tambo rushed to meet him, standing several feet away from him for safety, but still within talking distance. He frowned deeply, silent for several seconds. He closed his eyes, collecting his thoughts. How did he feel about the man, exactly? Anger? No. It was disappointment.
“Who are you? I have warned you, years ago. If you continued on that path, you would lose yourself, lose your grip on reality. I see not the man I once met. One that was conflicted, desperate yet hopeful for a peaceful future. I see nothing but the specter of war in those eyes of yours.”
He closed his eyes once more, understanding that the man had given up on his humanity. Opening them again, he met Yangcong with a cold stare.
“Or perhaps you were already on your warpath when we first met, when you told me of the precarious situation of the Tuffles. Was it all a lie? Sweet nothings to manipulate us to die for your selfish desires? And yet…back then…you saved that child, you spoke of using your technology not for bloodshed, but for preservation! What happened to restoring planet Sadala to allow for Saiyans to get back to their homeworld? What happened to looking out for others? What happened…to your humanity?”
Tambo looked up at the supernova hanging high in the sky. This was…retribution.
“You fell into a pit of despair and selfishness and now, everything has come full circle. I have no grievances against you, but I am no judge in this affair. I wish things could have been different, I truly wish you had used your ingenuity to restore the planet as you told me. Farewell, Yangcong.”
Tambo turned his back to Yangcong, getting away before Ticoga launched his attack.
