The telekinetic abilities surely were handy.
As soon as Aufeia landed at The Moins Space Station, the guard asking for her identity had to deal with the malfunction of his equipment. Dislocating a tiny piece inside his holographic tablet was child's play and a perfect way to direct the attention to anything other but her. As the Arcosian was trying to fix it, calling for the technician's help, she joined the group of impatient travelers who ignored him and walked right into the main area. This was scary, in a way. Who knew that crowd could be so powerful? The more people were around the easier it was to blend in... But it wouldn't hurt to be careful. Treading cautiously and minding people around her, Aufeia walked through the maze of corridors, trying to figure out her next move. The Space Station wasn't the biggest or most advanced one but surely did not lack in anything.
The space pod that she was supposed to travel in was for now waiting in line to be inspected. As did many others... Because she didn't use her surname when she was buying it, nor did she expect anyone to believe that nobility would use such a drab way of traveling. Aufeia didn't fear that her pod would be confiscated - the only thing concerning her would be time. Something told her that she would be waiting a long time before she could leave this station.
The civilians were further guided into the waiting areas, while the station employees were trying to keep everything as mannerly as possible. Of course, with a sudden evacuation that shook the planet, things weren't as easy to control as they seemed in theory. Guards were everywhere... And it didn't escape her attention that they were on edge. The lines were constantly getting longer, gates were changed every hour so unhappy travelers were moving from place to place. The luggage got lost. A couple of fights broke up. People were either panicking or treating the whole thing as an uncomfortable necessity and not paying it more mind. If what Aufeia heard was correct, it wasn't the first situation like this. She tried to remind herself of the books she read, was there a conflict that she didn't read about..? Hm... That made her wonder if the Empire's situation wasn't as stable as she considered it to be. Though to further ponder about this statement she would need to wait. This thought had to remain in her mind until after the conflict was resolved - one way or another.
Another wave of people came through the gates and Aufeia discreetly covered her face with the wide hood. Standing by the wall, with her silhouette obscured by her travel cloak, she hoped that she wasn't attracting anyone's attention... But with the ongoing commotion to catch anyone's interest she would have to start singing or dancing in the middle of the waiting area. She could take it easy for now, choosing one of many seats. Resting her back and legs with a soft sigh she closed her eyes, listening to the murmurs that didn't want to stop. The trip was tiring. Much more than she thought it would be... But she was on her own and there wasn't anyone going out of their way to aid her. Aufeia knew better than to trust others. Especially as long as she was on the Empire's territory. It wasn't possible to see her mother strolling through those corridors but it also wasn't impossible, so she wasn't lowering her guard anytime soon.
The ships that were docked in the Station were now awaiting inspection before anyone would be allowed on board, creating unpleasant murmurs here and there. Aufeia has never before felt so much... Contempt. And fear. Anger. Granted, her family wasn't the best, though this amount of people was surely overwhelming to her mind. The psychokinetic sensitivity was making things difficult for her, so she decided that the best course of action would be to lay low. As much as it was possible. Massaging her temples, she silently made a vow to, as soon as the travel would end, find a quiet place to rest. Aufeia couldn't sense what others were thinking but she was aware that the Station wasn't the safest place. The tense political situation was the trigger that made the unruly feelings reach the surface. And once that happened, the so-called theft accident from the Floe Space-Port won't be the exception. There were souls with no shame, only waiting to use the immense confusion and silent panic for their selfish gains. Here and there she could feel unpleasant intent emerging, like a warning light, among the buzzing of confused voices.
Her head was starting to ache. Aufeia joined her hands on her lap, and with closed eyes, she breathed slowly, deeply. Again, there was plenty of time before she would be granted permission to leave the Station - after her pod's inspection, of course. Meanwhile, her mind's eye was in dire need of some rest. Focusing on her breathing, the sounds from her surroundings became a background noise and only now she felt that her body was feeling heavy. It was the most effort she ever used to move... But she couldn't allow herself to stop being vigilant.
Aufeia had only her mind and sharp senses against the world.
