The trip from Shokun to Arcose with his newly acquired pod had gone by rather swimmingly for Yakito, minus the few intrusive thoughts that still trotted in his mind. Since his defeat at the hands of Zuqetta, the vulpine Zoan had been pondering about her words rather intensively.
Was it worth it to dabble in warfare with the risks inherent to the profession? Yakito didn’t like the prospect of selling his strength as a private military contractor to the Arcosian Empire, but it is not like he had much of a choice given his life situation. With his mom on her deathbed and requiring specialized healthcare and facilities, a minimum wage job like the one he currently had at the burger joint was simply out of the question. He needed to ditch this McJob and entirely focus on his main moneymaker, lest he’d never be able to amass sufficient funds to pursue an education with the hopes of attaining the coveted state of financial stability. At the same time, doing so would only make the very finite time he had for his ma even more scarce…
"Attention to all passengers. Currently entering Arcosian atmosphere." Yakito was shaken out of his conundrum by the robotic voice of his space pod’s AI - nothing fancy about it, simply the factory issued program that came with the vessel. Uneasy, the fox stirred in his seat, looking through the window to absentmindedly gaze at the many skyscrapers of Kuriza City. Eventually, his pod made a safe landing in a high security parking lot near the palace reserved for business representativess and supplicants alike.
Mere seconds after the androgynous lad stepped out from his space pod, a loud alarm began to blare in the vicinity with a pre-registered message playing out from the nearby drones. "UNREGISTERED PARKING LOT OCCUPANT. CITIZEN, IDENTIFY YOURSELF WITH YOUR IMPERIAL ID NUMBER AND VACATE THE PREMISE WITH YOUR VEHICULE. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL BE MET WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT." Yakito quirked a brow. "Wait what? But I am not an Imperial cit-" The confused fox was abruptly cut by the same voice. "ESCALATION TO CODE RED DASH FORTY-ONE."
Yakito sighed as Aliens, Androids and Arcosians alike circled around him with arm blasters at the ready. For a moment, there was nothing but his own raggedy breath escaping as puffs of condensation from the half-masked rebreather he donned. Attached to it was a single puce-colored scouter lens that scanned the vicinity with yellow characters in the Tuffle language flickering across the tinted glass before displaying numbers. "Twenty-four thousand units is the highest of them. It comes from the robot…" The red-furred Earthling gave the Delta Sentinel model a cursory glance. "My own battle power is seventy-thousand. If the scouter’s logic is to be followed, they are no threat to me…"
This concept of battle power was still alien to Yakito but, if the reaction of the many security guards who used their own scouters to confirm the femboy’s statement was to be used as an indicator, he clearly had the upper hand. Still, he was in civilized territory and wanted to work for the Arcosian Empire, so he saw no use in escalating the issue. "Listen guys, I mean no harm! I simply want to see your Emperor and talk to him; I heard he was looking for strong mercenaries to join the armed forces."
The Delta Sentinel unit took a step forward before speaking in its own robotic voice. "Your clearance level is insufficient. Those who desire to meet the Emperor must fill one of the forms from M.E.T. dash one to M.E.T. dash eighty-two and those who desire to meet one of his representatives must fill one of the forms from M.E.A. dash one to M.E.A. dash three hundred and forty-six." Uninterested in administrative hijinks, Yakito rolled his eyes and cut to the chase. "Can I meet him or nah? I’m just gonna scram if I can’t, tinhead." The Delta Sentinel unit narrowed its eyes and issued a reinforcement request to all units within a 1.5 miles radius.
