BACKSTORY
This is how Yakito would describe the uphill battle that his life was so far.
From college dropout to burger flipper. From burger flipper to street brawler. From street brawler to mercenary. From mercenary to proud member of the Armored Squadron.
This string of changes all stemmed from a single element constituting the nucleus of Yakito’s existence: His mom.
Just like him, she was born with a birth defect, a bad gene running rampant on her side of the family preventing them from using the spiritual energy inherent to one’s physical coil - ki. Marian was dealt a particularly vicious hand by fate, for even amongst her unlucky lineage she was an anomaly; her deficient spiritual energy bled into the wholeness of her immune system, causing the merest of contaminants to potentially be a death sentence.
Marian’s condition urged an environment insulated from outside contaminants and kept under the permanent scrutiny of medical personnel. This kind of healthcare was beyond exorbitant; it was a death sentence, a ticking time bomb of borrowed time waiting to explode.
This is why Yakito ditched college and put it all on the line by taking performance-enhancing drugs to ensure his victory in the underground fighting pits of East City.
This is why Yakito voyaged in the starry firmament to put his strength to a more lucrative, freelancing use after Marian’s subsidies got cut due to Earth’s economic recession.
This is why Yakito sought an audience with the Emperor of Arcose, pledging his loyalty to his realm and its inhabitants as a member of his elite armed forces: The Armored Squadron.
Yakito was quick at demarking himself, showing a proactivity and integrity rarely seen amongst the rank and file of the Imperial military. In his perspective, Yakito sees the four hundred worlds comprising the Arcosian realm as his beloved charges, for it is the gestalt whole of their knowledge that delivered the state-of-the-art treatments that Marian enjoys nowadays; slowly but surely, her condition is improving.
For as long as he draws breath, the Arcosian Empire shall have a ferociously motivated defender: Squadmate Yakito, an Earthling characterized by his half-mask rebreather and beret proudly emblazoned with the Armored Squadron’s insignia.
For his ma! For the Squadron!! For the Empire!!!
TRAITS
Makafushigi Adventure || Earthling Core Trait #1
You gain an additional 1/2/3 TP dependent on the tier of Sparking created (Light/Medium/Heavy). These Sparking techniques have a cost reduction of 1 MP.
Martial Artist || Earthling Core Trait #2
You start with four technique slots instead of the standard three. In addition, you may choose a single Standard technique from each tier (Light/Medium/Heavy) and add 1 TP to each.
Turtle School Secrets || Earthling Option Trait
You start with the Max Power technique for free during character creation. In addition, Max Power no longer drains Momentum per turn, but you cannot generate MP naturally either.
Bare-Knuckle Brawler || General Trait #1
If you enter a thread with no combat items or consumables, your non-Sparking Defensive techniques that do not have the Evasive variant gain +5% power. Being given an item mid-thread nullifies this trait.
Self-Sacrifice || General Trait #2
You may activate any one of your Standard techniques using your life force. This will render it free of cost, but will instantly knock you out, or wound you in Action threads. Cannot be used on the same turn you would normally be knocked out from damage. The technique may be boosted as per normal boosting rules.

SUPPORT TECHNIQUES
Support Technique || Indomitable Fury (Turtle School Secrets Max Power)
Yakito may activate Indomitable Fury at the very start of his post, increasing the power of all his techniques by +10% while active. This will not drain Momentum but will still prevent Yakito from generating MP naturally. While active, he cannot use Evasive or Escape techniques, block escapes, and intercept attacks meant for others. Yakito can only turn off Indomitable Fury at the end of a post, at the end of his second post after activation at the earliest. Yakito will not regain any MP on the post he turned it off on. If he runs out of MP, Yakito loses Indomitable Fury's effects at the end of his post and cannot gain any MP on his next turn.
UTILITY TECHNIQUES
Utility Technique || Battle Frenzy (Starter Utility Slot #1)
Doping took its toll on Yakito, causing figments of savagery to sporadically come out when he is under duress. When this Utility technique takes effect, Yakito loses all inhibitions and enters a berserk state. The likes of civility are discarded for a ruthless demeanor and heightened senses.
Utility Technique || Survival Instincts (Starter Utility Slot #2)
Yakito is simply unable to use ki thanks to a birth defect. To compensate for this, he has a danger sense allowing him to detect any potential threats in the surrounding area. More often than not, this will trigger a fight or flight response despite his better judgment. The efficiency of this Utility technique is impacted by the likes of Antisense and ki control.
