Kronos was terrible at taking instructions, especially from authorities; doubly so from adults. A part of it was motivated by their own ego; the other merely out of an inherent skepticism of anyone that wanted to boss him around; most because he could count on one hand how many times these decisions had worked in his favor. What was most annoying is that these elders, his so-called betters--they'd never actually explain themselves to him. They'd treat Kronos like he was too stupid to know what was wrong and then yell at him when he wanted to know more. Every once in a while, they'd have the shame to come back and admit fault. But most never did. Some didn't even have a chance.
It said a lot, then, that for the first time in at least two years, from someone he'd hardly known for more than a day, Kronos shut up and listened. Not out of fear, not out of obligation, but respect. As stupid as it might've been, as much as he knew it was a bad idea--Kronos believed in Dion. There were a lot of questions to ask, and indeed, he was gonna chew him out something fierce for not finishing this guy off sooner--but they had priorities. First he had to win. Together...
With Dion leading the trio, Kronos flew several feet behind him as he relentlessly started to pummel Yangcong, an uncontrollable whirlwind of ki-infused punches that shook the teenager's body with every blow. A part of Kronos suspected that Dion wasn't lying about whatever history he had with him, but now he was sure. That was a fury you couldn't fake...
...and it left the scientist vulnerable!
Yangcong was reeling. His little suit was losing power. He was flat on his back on a metal bridge, right above a vat of destron. Dion had done his job: he'd taken the lead to weaken their enemy. And now it was time to finish him.
Kronos didn't breath or move or think, standing motionless for a few seconds while inspecting their body from afar. 'His energy's fading...for real, this time. I know some guys are good at faking it, but...his energy couldn't even compare to Dion's...'
'...we got him...I got him...!'

SHRKKK!
Kronos didn't breath or move or think, standing motionless for a few seconds while inspecting their body from afar. 'His energy's fading...for real, this time. I know some guys are good at faking it, but...his energy couldn't even compare to Dion's...'
'...we got him...I got him...!'
"WAHAHAHAHA!" Kronos belllowed definatly, backflipping in the air as the adrenaline fuelling his transformation finally started to recede. "KRONOS, TEEN OF TOMORROW, REMAINS UNDEFEATED! YOU USED ME FOR A MONTH! MADE ME BUILD YOUR WEAPON! HELP YOUR RESEARCH! I...you were gonna use that on people..."
"...and now you won't. Will ya?" He had returned to his scrawny, normal size, more bruised than ever but still standing. The look on his face was a mixture between his regular, uber-confident grin and something a bit more...serious. The events of the past few minutes were bombastic enough to distract the teenager from his emotions, but with Yangcong defeated...
"...you gave me a tail again," Kronos croaked hideously. "It's...it's honestly kind of funny. I can't put into words how much I hate you. You nearly destroyed the capital with me in it. You took my technology to do that again. You turned me into...into one of those Great Ape freaks. You betrayed me."
In lieu of the tears running down his face again, Kronos sheathed their sword and started to walk away from the group--both Yangcong, Prim and Dion. "Do whatever you want, asshole. I'll take any research that's worth a damn on my out. And as for you, Dion..."
They sighed and gave him a joyless look, unable to fully make eye contact. "Leave me alone for a while, okay? I...I appreciate the help. But I wanna be...alone...for a minute. God...my head..."
It was obvious from the cadence of Kronos's words that he was on the verge of passing out, be it from the immense stress wearing off him or the damage he'd sustained. Falling asleep here was an unwise decision, and asking to be abandoned on top of that was even worse. Whether his choice would be respected or not, though, was the other's choice.

Attempted thread Exit! Dion can leave him alone, but he's probably not doing that. Unless he wakes him up.
