Still unaware of what Destron truly was, Cabasa could nevertheless witness both her king and Pankaa argue about it. This was nothing more than a pointless squabble; a rift between the two was forming before her very eyes and Cabasa didn't like it one bit.
She had made a terrible mistake bringing Pankaa here in the hopes of providing both the Avali and Gandigan with a different world view to spark a constructive conversation. Instead of this, Pankaa's arrogance was clearly riling Gandigan up.
When Gandigan spoke up and drew a parallel between Namek and the Arcosian empire, Cabasa was reminded of Apexle's vile words about her king. Gandigan, in all his good faith and unironical desire to see the Mazokus prosper, was sadly steering their kind toward a path of conquest that would make them no better than the Saiyans they were trying to put on a leash. Cabasa hated that hypocrisy; she spoke up against her king, knowing well that it was a gambit. "Gandigan, I agree that we need to move against the threats like Lottus, but when will this stop? I am asking out of genuine curiosity: Do you want the Mazokus to extend their tendrils across the stars and become an EMPIRE? This would make us no better than the planet-conquering Saiyans we claim to have the moral superiority over."
Cabasa shook her head, getting a headache with how complicated this situation was getting. "I simply want the full truth at this point; sharing your plan to several people separately instead of holding a broader meeting led to terrible miscommunications, I fear." As shown by Gira's initiative of wanting to put Saiyans on the frontline.
After this interjection, the teal Mazoku allowed Gandigan and Pankaa to hash it out about the Guru and Gira's claim over the throne. She had said everything she wanted to say on these subjects but, upon hearing Pankaa's words about how there were no Mazokus without the Guru, Cabasa got a lingering feeling of déjà vu; this conversation, or at least something very similar to it, occurred before in the past. The winged warrior saw it flash and flicker before her very eyes, a table of Mazokus torn over questions of sovereignty and legitimacy of their peculiar way of life that didn't align with the rest of Namek.
The schism.
The absent-minded haze that glazed Cabasa's dusky jewels with an epicenter of crimson faded away as she returned to the present to hear these words that made her heart sink in her stomach.
"Foolish child..." She thought to herself, seeing this willingness to throw himself in danger for her as the worst possible outcome.
Was this how love felt like? It hurt.
Pankaa was able to see her pupils become smaller and the teal hide of her face wrinkling under the yoke of expression; Cabasa's countenance was oozing with fear, dread, and worries. She stood up and faced Gandigan, holding her arms and wings wide and apart while using her body as a shield for the Avali.
Was this how love felt like? It hurt.
"GANDIGAN!" Her tone was sharp, her figure stiff and heaving with the hectic breathing that brought life in grand inhales to her body. "I... have made a grand mistake in judgment today, I apologize." Cabasa bowed profusely, doing more than slightly inclining her head for once. "I...I thought he would have made it possible for the Guru to be onboard, but I was wrong..." To hells if she portrayed Pankaa as a tool to influence Nero -even if it was a lie- and potentially alienated her relationship with him; what mattered was that all of Gandigan's attention was taken off from him and directed toward herself.
