After dueling swordsmen, demons, and dragons, the Majin was unsure what it was that she was missing, when pitted against the protagonists of her favorite stories. She had gone through trials and tribulations, swung her sword around, and even landed an attack or two.
“...before eventually running away. Hmm. I guess they didn’t run away when the going got rough.” The Majin leaned back against the huge boulder, looking across at the sword buried in a nearby tree. The large blade shone in the dim light of the setting sun, while shadows grew long underfoot. She rose to her feet, stretching with a loud yawn. Her red eyes skimmed the nearby woods, and the rocky ruins that lay behind her. She had wandered far from the cities this time, which meant food would be harder to come by.
“It’s not my fault I didn’t get a group of friends to cheer me on from the sidelines. That’s like...an instant power buff, in all the shows.” The Majin grumbled, before walking over to her sword. Placing one palm on the bandaged hilt, she finished the stab, cutting the huge tree in half. It crashed to the ground with a torrent of cracking wood and falling foliage. She swung the blade onto her shoulder, before she fixed it there with her will.
“You know...I could get one of those fancy harnesses, to make this outfit even cooler.” The Majin pondered aloud, trying to picture the way the harness would fit on her slim frame. After a few seconds of intense deliberation, her head started smoking and she fanned away the cloud.
“Too much thinking; I should start traveling again.” With that, the girl headed into the darkening woods, unaware of the man she would soon encounter.
