Gandigan didn't expect to find himself on Plant any time soon, especially considering everything that was planned on Namek. But it was what he had planned on Namek that made him consider the Saiyan planet in the first place. While on Konats he had dropped by the Konatsian castle in the hopes that maybe he could find something or someone to answer his questions, but in the end he was left wanting. Maybe he'd find something better on Plant?
The Saiyans actually had an active monarchy, though he never expected to actually get an audience with the King. He was sure the duties of a Kingship would keep him busy beyond the needs of a single Namekian, but he didn't need to find the King to get some of the answers he was looking for. The palace was no doubt occupied by the King's council and friends, and maybe one of them would have time for Gandigan? It was worth a look at least.
The sight of a Namekian in the Saiyan capital must have been a rare sight considering the looks he got as he walked through the streets, though he couldn't tell if they were born from curiosity or something else. None attempted to stop him until he made it to the palace itself, where the guards posted outside stepped in his way. They gave each other a weary look before turning to face the Namekian. "Excuse me, I would like to enter the palace. What do I need to do to make that happen?"
Nope. No, nuh-uh, definitely not a thing. Obviously some sort of elaborate plot or scheme or trick or something, because that power level on this planet? Not real. She hadn't even been in the Saiyan capital when she had felt that enormous power level so casually walking around Plant, but that hadn't stopped her from immediately ceasing...whatever it was she was doing and flying over here. She'd been so out of it she couldn't even remember the last hour of her life.
She had descended nearby so as not to alert some stupid guard and stomped her way over to it, ignoring and pushing past some disgruntled Saiyans as she soon found herself in front of the gates. Two Saiyan guards stood there, obviously meant to stop and talk to anyone who wanted to enter. Personally, she thought they were pretty bad at their job- She's snuck in plenty of times with them being none the wiser, after all. But enough about them! There was a lone Namekian there who, to her anger, seemed to be the source of all that power.
Now, Zuci could accept that people were stronger than her currently, even non-Saiyans. She was nowhere near her peak, after all! She was completely and utterly okay with someone even being twice as strong as her; it was a fact that Saiyans weren't the only ones in search of more strength, even if they were the common superiors when it came to raw might. But to this degree? And from a non-Saiyan?
"Why are you asking? They can't stop you!" Zuci said, unbelieving of him seemingly having manners. "What, have you come here for a political takeover? Strong as you are, I'm sure the King won't have trouble dealing with you. Now tell me- You're strong, how? Magic? Wish-granting divine beings? I demand an answer!
Gandigan wondered how long it was going to take for one of the guards to finally speak, though the voice he heard came from a woman who announced herself rather boldly. Surprisingly, it seemed as though she was angry... at him? Had he committed some sort of crime? He knew that Saiyans were known for their tempers, but he was trying to be polite here. It seemed her ire mostly came from his power, which he found funny since he thought Saiyans respected strength.
"I'm asking because if I'm not allowed here, I won't force my way in." A lot of assumptions were being made on her part, despite Gandigan simply asking to step inside. "If I wanted to take over, don't you think I would have attacked first instead of just asking? Just calm down, would you?" Her own power was significantly below his own, which made her brash attitude all the more ridiculous.
"My power? I trained for it. You understand the concept of training? It's pretty simple really. I worked hard. Now I'm not here for any nefarious purpose; I just want an audience with the King. I would like to speak with him if he's here, and if he's not then perhaps one of his underlings? Anyone connected to the monarchy would satisfy me at this point." In truth Gandigan might fancy testing himself as the might of the Saiyan King, but he'd rather not risk a diplomatic incident. "Oh, and... do you happen to know anything about super Saiyans? I've been hearing some stories I'd like to confirm." The power to destroy planets was what Jango had told him. Now seemed as good a time as any to look into that.
W-What the hell...? Zuci had expected to be met with an aggressive response, or even a threat! She looked to the guards in order to see if she was the only one who had been confused by his response. The two of them just shrugged, seemingly not going to do anythnig so long as things were kept civil. Now she wasn't going to actively provoke the Namekian, but she was definitely thrown off by his attitude (or lack thereof)...
"...Forgive me for the rude comment then." She said after a moment of thinking. "Most others with your power level have been rather 'aggressive' to say the least. Curse that rat who broke my tail... In any case, fine, I'll be calm. Your power just irked me is all."
If he wasn't going to get aggressive, then she had no reason to- So long as he didn't say anything to aggravate her. "Of course I know about training, it's what I do when there's not some overly strong... Ah, forgive me, doing it again. He's probably busy at this moment. We just had a fairly large attack; We won, of course, but he's probably ensuring that everything is going well after the fact. Is there any particular reason it has to be someone involved with the monarchy?"
Her arrogant self was sure it was something she could deal with on her own!
"Ah, Super Saiyans..." She trailed off, unsure of how to answer. If he didn't know by now after that broadcasted tournament, was the universe at large still unaware of the awakenings of Super Saiyans...? She mused on that idea for a while, debating on whether or not to tell him. That information could be a valuable secret if they were ever attacked by another species, or ever had to lead an attack of their own...
Eventually, she shook her head and sighed. No point in keeping it hidden; technically it was already public knowledge, may as well spread some of the word.
"Saiyans who have achieved a legendary status; blonde hair, green eyes, power that no god could match... We've a couple on our planet, and I aim to make myself the next one. For reference, now that I have a close-up look at you I can get something of an idea of your full power. And I'm sure it's still less than that of the Super Saiyans I'vebeen around, no offense."
"Perhaps they've been aggressive because they were Saiyans, not because of their high power level." Though it didn't surprise him to hear that sort of thing. Though he hadn't meet many people with his sort of abilities, it was easy to see how one could become a touch... arrogant after achieving the level that he had. Gandigan tried his best to keep a level head, though with the path to Kingship up ahead he wasn't sure what the future may hold for him.
"Well, I suppose it doesn't have to be someone related to the monarchy, but I had a few questions which I thought might be best answered by a King, or someone who spends a lot of time around one. I'm sorry about whatever this attack was, though with the power of the Saiyans I'm sure your people were able to handle themselves well."
The Saiyan woman more or less confirmed what he had heard from Jango, though for Zuci it was clear that the Super Saiyan was more than a legend. She had seen it with her own eyes, and stated quite confidently that there were multiple of them now. She even went as far as to say that they were more powerful than Gandigan was. "I don't doubt it, if everything I've heard is true. Though until I get to test myself against one we won't know for sure."
He imaged that the King (whoever he was) must have been a Super Saiyan; there's no way he could have won the throne without that sort of power. But who else? Not the Saiyan woman; despite her eagerness she fell well short of any sort of Super Saiyan. "I think you've a long way to go until you reach the power of a Super Saiyan. I was hoping to meet one too, if there was time for it. You don't have any in the palace that I could speak to do you?"
Gandigan looked to either side of him, matching eyes with each of the two guards still out front. What Zuci had said was true: he could easily defeat them if he wanted to, but he wasn't here to cause trouble. "Assuming that there's no problem with me entering?"
"...No comment." Is Zuci's response to that whole idea. If she were being honest she had no real idea what that Lottus' deal was; did he have legitimate reasons to be as destructive as he was, or was he just another rampaging Saiyan who just so happened to be as generically aggressive as any man she found on the street? Either way, she wasn't about to badmouth the attitude of the Saiyans.
"Of course we did! An attack like that was obviously going to be dealt with, Super Saiyan power or not! Even I got my fair share of action; let my tail be proof, ugh..." Zuci groaned as her tail waved from side-to-side, briefly seizing in place from a jolt of pain. Still needed to recover, it seemed... "But yes, I should be able to answer most of your questions. Let's see..."
"As for whether you stand a chance, if you're hiding more power I'm sure you'd actually last a decent while. Still, from where I stand you'll simply need to be a Super Saiyan yourself to defeat one. And, well... I'm sure you see the issue with that." She waved to both of their beings, one being a normal Saiyan and the other one a clear Namekian. "But hey, you're stronger than most of our race right now so take pride in that! When my own hair becomes a pretty gold, I'll grace Namek with my presence and give you a personal demonstration! Ohohoho!"
Now, onto the topic of actually meeting a Super Saiyan...
"Ah, to meet one... There's the King, obviously. I believe that we're holding the attacker in prison for his crimes, and something tells me you're not going to be able to see him. There were a few more that showed up I've heard, but no one's ever even seen them on planet as far as I've been able to find out."
So many, but she wasn't one... Ugh...
Best bet is staying here until the King shows up and asking him if he's willing to show you. He and the attacker were in a tournament that was broadcasted before that you may be able to find. Anything other than that, I'm afraid you're out of luck. I don't think I sense him inside either, unless he's hiding his power for whatever reason. So! Anything else my graceful self can aid you with, dear traveller?"
"Ah, a Saiyan with an superiority complex. Color me surprised." Up until now, Gandigan had tried his best to be rather cordial; this was probably a mistake. He was supposed to preparing himself for Kingship, and being meek was no way to represent Namek. He needed to do a better job at barking back at the Saiyan whenever she challenged him and his people, else every lowly Saiyan will think they can walk over them. "Believe me when I say that you're seeing a fraction of my power."
He wasn't sure if he liked the idea of this one coming to Namek. "Not sure we need any Super Saiyans on Namek, especially if they live up to the reputation. Though I suppose that any decisions on that would be left to Nero." It wasn't for him to say who could come and go on Namek; his authority would only extend to the Mazoku territory... at least to begin with.
Eventually Gandigan was allowed through with Zuci's grace; he ignored the guards as he entered the palace, and followed along beside the woman. From what she told him, it didn't sound like he'd be getting his meeting with a Super Saiyan any time soon. The King was out somewhere, and the... attacker? "Wait a moment; you mean to tell me that the person responsible for this attack was also a Super Saiyan? I guess not everyone here is on the same side, huh?"
That was good news as far as he was concerned. Let the Saiyans fight among themselves rather than against Namek. "Two Super Saiyans going against each other, yet the planet still remains. Maybe their power has been overexaggerated?"
The news of a tournament came as a bit of surprise to Gandigan. They had fought on Namek? He couldn't recall seeing or sensing any such power?... Wait, no. There was another wasn't there? Somewhere else. He didn't pay much attention to that one. That must have been what she was talking about. "I'm afraid I didn't catch that one live. You wouldn't happen to have any footage of it archived would you? And if I can't meet any Super Saiyans in the flesh then perhaps you have some records of their feats on hand?"
"Not a complex if I'm just speaking fact. Besides, having low self-esteem just doesn't suit me. Can't exactly achieve my goal of becoming the strongest without being arrogant about it." She said before holding up her hand to check out her nails. "I trust you though; you could probably kill me and most of my people without much effort on your part. Impressive!"
She smiles, seemingly not taking him too seriously despite fully believing the words she had just spoken to him. It was less a matter of disrespect and more Zuci just viewing things in her own way; he was superior to her now, and while that may have annoyed her initially now he was just another goal for her. This little- Well, big gap in strength between them wouldn't matter a year from now after all!
"Nero? ...Never mind, I'm assuming that's private information. And for the record, not every Saiyan is eager to fight every person they see. ...Mostly. Without killing intention." She added after a moment of pause. "The King certainly wouldn't be an issue. If anything you'd all probably enjoy his company." She says with some vague amount of distaste for him.
Zuci can't help but let out an annoyed sigh thanks to his question. She pinches the bridge of her nose and tilts her head up towards the ceiling of the palace. "Trust me, we are not all on the same side. Generally we keep to ourselves for the most part and I don't mean from other races. That's not even mentioning the disparity between the 'elite nobles' and the 'low-class'. Tch, what a stupid notion... Ah, ignore that last part. But yes- I'm not entirely sure what his deal was, but he didn't seem too happy with the way things are that's for damn sure."
Hm... What did that Super Saiyan want from all that? Maybe she'd know someday.
"Oh, no no no." Zuci says with a giggle. "If our King wasn't trying to stop said Saiyan, I'm fairly certain this planet would be less than dust in the vast void of space. I was alone in my home when I first felt it. I've never been around a Super Saiyan before, but you feel that- That power that feels like it's trying to choke you just by its mere existence and you just know, my friend. Maybe someday I'll prove the legend by trying it myself! ...On an unpopulated planet, of course." She adds just in case he starts to look at her weird.
"The tournament recording? I should still have it saved, yes- I believe it's still being shown in parts around the planet too, so it shouldn't be too difficult for you to find and watch it for yourself. I wish I was there myself- The damn screen can only capture so much... Hell, I would have participated were it not for King Taori ruining the entire thing with his presence. I had planned on taking the throne when I became a Super Saiyan, but of course he beat me to it..."
Oh, now for feats...?
"Well, the Super Saiyan Lottus did require...a lot of effort to defeat. I was knocked out in the grand battle, but from reports I can only surmise it was one of history's greatest battles. And that's not even mentioning the destruction."
That she definitely held no responsibility for in any way, shape or form.
"The amount of effort it took to take him and that damn colleague of his down- Don't even ask me about that, I don't know- Surely the full might of the Saiyan people against so few forces should be enough? That's excluding the legends and tales of course; planet-destroying power, fated to surpass the Gods, limitless potential- I hope at least some of it rings a bell?"
Things were very interesting on Plant, but how could Gandigan take advantage of all that? The division between Super Saiyans was important to maintain he thought; if they were to all join forces then to force in the universe could stand against them. Whoever this rogue that attacked Hatchi was, he felt it imperative to seek him out and get a feel for who he was. Anybody capable of fighting against the Saiyan King and surviving was someone that Gandigan wanted to know.
"Stop, not kill? If this guy is as much a madman as I've been lead to believe then I can't imagine any reason why your King would want to keep him alive, unless... they have some sort of personal attachment?" Maybe it wouldn't be as easy to exploit as he had hoped; Taori was keeping this rogue around for some reason. It may have been that they had come to some sort of an agreement already.
"Well, I shall have to found some of these recordings myself then. You say that you wanted to try and become a Super Saiyan and take the throne? You must be rather close to the top Saiyans in terms of power then?" Given what he was sensing off of the woman he was sure that must have been some sort of disguise. There was no way this level of power could have even been close to a Super Saiyan, if everything he had heard was true.
"Yes, I think I have some sort of idea. You don't happen to have any information on how to stop them do you? Maybe some sort of secret weapon written about in a stack of old books somewhere?" Gandigan delivered that line with a hint of humor, but he hoped that maybe he could get something out of Zuci.
"Eh, that I do not know. Maybe he took pity, or perhaps there's some secret political reason I'm unaware of. Fact is he's alive. Besides, killing him..."
Zuci trailed off, suddenly unsure if she should bring up that part about all this. He'd been killed already of course, but just...'came back' like it was nothing. That had opened up Zuci's eyes in a whole other way- Was death even relevant? Did it only apply to those who were supremely strong like a Super Saiyan? Regardless, it was definitely something she had to consider just telling someone. Hm... After a moment of thought, she spoke up.
"Plus, we already killed him once and that didn't work. Guess Super Saiyans really are a cut above the rest of the galaxy, hm?"
She said it nonchalantly, knowing the absurdity of the statement would earn more than a few reasonable questions. Still she continued on, acting as if she didn't just say something absolutely crazy and insane. On the note of her own power level though...
"Hmph... Just because it is my aim does not mean I am close. The rest of these backwater fools may be content with idling around, but I have my eyes set on grander heights. I know I'm not close to the legend now, but someday- Someday soon, I'll be listed in the annals of history..." She waved her hand dramatically, looking up as if she were seeing a bright future for herself. "But yes, they shouldn't be too hard to find."
On the topic of stopping a Super Saiyan Zuci couldn't suppress her giggles at his questioning.
"A legendary superweapon, hm? That would be convenient, true. Unfortnately for you, there is no such thing; reading all of the old tales and legends, I would know. You want information on stopping a Super Saiyan? Be strong. Raw might is all that will ever help you against one. No weapon or tactic alone is going to serve any purpose other than delaying the inevitable. Having seen one up close... Using a 'weapon' would be like trying to make a ripple in an ocean by throwing a pebble into a random end of it. You either fight and win, or fight and lose. That's it! Anything else? It seems like I've told you most of what you came for, have I not?"
Back from the dead...? "Are you serious? This guy has already died? Then what's he doing attacking Hatchi?" Gandigan had heard stories of... zombies and the like, but those were just jokes, right? And this story didn't sound anything like that. He didn't know what Zuci was trying to play here but he didn't like it one bit. Maybe she was just trying to scare him; another feat to add to the list of the might Super Saiyans. Like that would work on him.
Zuci prattled on for a little while longer on the strength of Super Saiyans. Obviously there was no secret weakness to them, other than simply being stronger. It was then that he realized his Super Saiyan investigation had reached a dead end with Zuci and that it was time to talk on something else. "Well, you've told me everything you can about Super Saiyans; I'll have to learn more by actually talking to one I guess. But there is another question I have that you might be able to answer."
Gandigan looked around inside the palace they were standing in, taking in all of the view before continuing. "Isn't this place kind of a dump? I mean, no offense but I've heard a lot about some sort of Saiyan Empire. I don't know if those are just stories of old but I haven't really seen anything that's impressed me so far. And outside of the capital? Things just get worse."
"Right, because I would definitely tell such a hard to swallow lie like that and assume you'll take my word for it. Ask around- He's died before, but now he's just alive again and chose the same option he did last time: Violence. Like I said, I'm not sure about his exact reasons but believe it or not he did die and he is alive again. Going beyond death for a Super Saiyan is now, objectively and truthfully, a feat they are entirely capable of doing! Do you see why I am so infatuated with the legend now? It's too magnificent to not strive towards!"
Again, she may not have known whether or not he was able to come back due to being a Super Saiyan but that didn't matter; a Super Saiyan did it, and by that logic it wasn't impossible for her to do either. They were already talking about something positively insane already after all.
"I guess you will- Hm?" Zuci perked her head up wondering what other question he could have for her. At the mention of her homeworld being a dump she damn near snarled, but strategically chose not to physically threaten him. She did think about verbally abusing the planet Namek, but considering she had never been it wouldn't exactly feel right to do so.
"This planet was engaged with a war against the other species that share this planet, the Tuffles, for quite a long while. We came to something close to peace a bit ago, but by that time I'd say the planet had already taken it's toll. The Saiyan Empire... A misleading name, if I'm being honest. An Empire wouldn't have to share a planet with someone else, and they would have others under their heel or control. ...Or make alliances, which we haven't done. I presume someday we'll get there though. If you're looking for architecture go to the Tuffle side or whatever."
It annoyed her to have to discuss her people at length in such a negative light, but it was the truth and she wasn't about to ignore that. "Alright, if nothing else I imagine you'll be wanting to get on and find a living, breathing legend somewhere around. But hey- Next time we see each other I'll be more than happy to give you a free look at the glow. Someone of your power level, I try to avoid until I'm good and ready. In the meantime, good luck with your search." Zuci threw up a peace sign, walking past Gandigan at a slow enough pace where he could stop her if he had anything else to talk about.
Gandigan could tell that he was beginning to get on Zuci's nerves. If he pushed too much pushing and she might begin to push back. He was looking to make a scene; especially considering they were still within the Saiyan palace. If she really wanted to she could have probably over a hundred other Saiyans showing up to help kick his ass, so he figured it was best to get out now before things got out of hand. There didn't seem to be anything else she could tell him anyway.
"Well, I thank you for everything that you've told me here today, Zuci. Hopefully I can put this knowledge to some good use, and if not?... Well, it's always nice to learn new things I suppose. I imagine you have better ways to spend you time than being badgered by me, so I won't hold you up any longer."
Gandigan bowed his head, allowing Zuci to walk past him and head to whatever it was she had to take care of. At the same time he would turn and head back towards the entrance he had come in through. He gave each man standing at the door another bow before taking off back to his space pod.
