Another smile dawned on Megis. Words had failed, and so he was gifted with a fight. "There will be no eyes upon us today, old fool. The Gods had abandoned this place; you've said as much yourself. And once I'm done there'll be no one to speak of what happened here either." The Majin halted any magic coming from him, allowing the stone to fall where it did. He would want all of his concentration for the upcoming battle. "Don't fear, Bing. Both of you will fall."
He had two choices: either try and take Bing out early to drop their numbers, or going after the woman, who was clearly the greater threat on her own. Megis choose to go for the woman. Megis began erratically, leaping around from rock to rock as they continued to fall from the sky. He had held back for far too long, so now he'd have some fun to cool off.
Laughing manically, Megis would pull his arm back behind his head, stretching it out to several times it's normal length. Once he felt he had the distance, Megis would swing him arm around and around and around, picking up speed with each rotation, before finally flinging his hand forward and out, aiming to slap Ramen right across the face. While the old bat's resolve was tested, Megis patiently awaited Bing's reaction. How much had he grown since they last fought?
Ramen could barely see the slap coming towards her when it did--no, it was worse than that. She couldn't see the slap coming for her. It was only the sound of the hand cutting through the air that prompted her to move, inspired her to take the action she did--and that was to channel her ki into the base of her staff to propel herself into the air, with such speed that as the hand closed in, an image of her had been left behind in her place.
The hand passed through the static image, and the martial artist reappeared a few feet away. She was untouched, but she was a little shaken. It was clearer now more than ever how overmatched they were. Still, she grounded her feet and prepared to fight: she would stand her ground, no matter what came.
"Bing! You said his name was Megis, right?" she called.
She had to at least ensure that Megis wasn't totally right in what he had said. In the meantime, she hopped into the air, letting her momentum carry her--and aimed her palm downwards, firing another fierce kiai. She wouldn't hurt the Majin if she attacked him directly, she knew--so she instead aimed to shatter the ground beneath him, to trip him up.
It was just about buying time and hoping for a miracle now.

Bing’s register of combat beginning was slow on the uptake. By the time Ramen had avoided the attack, he had finally heard the aftershock of the Majin’s strike. His brow furrowed; was he really that out of his depth?
Pooling his Ki, Bing began to shudder. He needed to put everything he had into every single strike, for doing any less would mean his body would still have power left to give.
With a harsh exhale, he thrust his hand up above his head. A practiced motion, but behind it a force beyond his years. Emerald green Ki hovered above his outstretched palm, bouncing between his palm and fingers like a playful spirit eager to be seen.
”Hrah!”
No clever name nor sharp quip escaped him. Only the force of his body. With an exerted effort, he tossed the ball out. Though only the size of a fist, the energy ball packed solid power into it.
Surely Megis would evade, or perhaps it was an attack so beneath his notice he would simply allow it to hit him. A fools choice, but one the Majin might make. Death by a thousand cuts was surely in the cards.

One moment Ramen was there, and the next there was nothing. Nothing but a mirage, which quickly disappeared as Megis's hand swept through. His eyes tried to keep track of where she was moving, and a moment later she came back into view. Interestingly she asked Bing to confirm his name. What was that about? Perhaps she had heard his name before, and wanted to know if he were the same Majin. They hadn't meet each other before had they?
Suddenly the ground beneath Megis began to rumble as Ramen's attack struck the Earth. It seemed a small thing to avoid, though Bing made sure that Megis didn't have the time required. His own energy blast struck Megis across the face as his attention was stuck on Ramen, and for a brief moment the Majin fell below.
It wasn't enough to seriously hurt him, but still he could feel a burn sizzling across his check. Now it was time for something a little more serious. Megis would sit for a while, letting them stew, before bringing his hands together and rocketing them into the air. Once they felt high enough he'd produce a large, grotesque eye between his hands, spinning it through the air to get a look at where his opponents where. When he caught sight of Ramen again he'd mush his thumbs into each other, creating a small mouth across them. "There you are!"
Megis would slam his palms together; the eye between them bursting into a green ooze. From there he'd swing his arms down like a hammer, attempting to spike Ramen into the Earth below.

Ramen had no way of escaping this next blow. She thought for a moment that she might have been able to keep some semblance of pace with the Majin, but the attack came slamming down on her with enough force to have broken her bones if it hit clean. But, she couldn't let that happen.
At the last moment, she twisted around and thrust both hands upwards, firing off a powerful kiai--this one directly at the Majin's spiking arms. She had intended to use her Kiai Keshi, but the strike hit her before she could summon up her energy. The result was that she was slammed hard into the ground, tiles cracking beneath her as she wound up near-embedded in the Lookout.
Something else might have broken too, but adrenaline helped to hide it... for what good that did her now. She grabbed onto her staff and forced herself up, on unsteady feet. She coughed, and she was sure she could see blood hit the rubble beneath her, from beyond the edges of her crimson aura.
"You're going to win this fight, but that's all it will be: one fight. If you don't back down, I'll take advantage of the very Lookout we stand on."
She rattled her staff against the ground.
"If you have any sense, you'll leave here with your head held high, and your reputation intact. If not, your plans will fall to ruin. You'll satisfy this violent outburst, but everything else you're after will be lost to you."
Although Bing’s strike landed true, it was of little use. As he had expected. What he hadn’t expected was just how powerfully the Majin would strike Ramen. She tumbled to the ground, giving another impassioned speech to deter the monster.
Bing could only watch from afar, trying his absolute hardest to perceive the combat as it happened, rather than so long after impact. If he could catch up. Perceive that which was imperceptible, he might be able to provide some semblance of help.
His Ki pooled again, coalescing near his chest most of all. His breathing deepened, and focus heightened.
With a burst of speed, the Serpent Warrior leaped for Megis, trying to tackle him and slow him down for at least a moment. If he could keep the foe grappled for a few moments, perhaps it would give Ramen a clear shot.
”Afraid to attack me, Megis? Give me your all!”
In the moments before his hands found purchase, he wondered if perhaps this would spell his end. Ramen had done well to draw fire all this time, and unlike Bing, she seemed able to survive the onslaught, even if only for a few moments.
But it didn’t matter. He would fight.
”Face me!”

Megis could not deny the satisfaction of seeing Ramen fall so painfully. He was curious as to how much of a beating the old woman could take; probably a lot more than Bing could. As Megis got up, so did Ramen, as her will was evidentially unbroken. He thought to attack her again, to press the advantage that he had gained, though something she said gave him pause. What did she mean by 'take advantage of the lookout?' Did she have some experience with the magics here?
The pause gave Bing the time he needed to once again strike at Megis, tackling him down and perhaps giving Ramen a moment to recover. Looking up a Bing as the Earthling tried his best to put on a strong voice, Megis was still upset that he had been betrayed. "You could have helped me here, Bing. I am not afraid to hurt you, I'm just sad that I have to kill you now."
Megis took both of his arms and wrapped them around the legs of Bing. From there he stretched them out, wrapping them over and over again, around the boy's legs, until his own flesh was no longer visible behind Megis's pink arms. From there he'd pull Bing into him and begin his onslaught, moving his own head forward to slam it into the face of Bing. Pulling the boy out again, Megis would rear his own head back and the continue, building up a rhythm as he repeatedly pulled the boy and in again, each time slamming their faces together.
When Megis launched his attack on Bing, Ramen tried to provide some kind of cover--opening up with another pair of kiai's--not to hit Megis, but Bing. If she could angle it right, she thought she just might be able to knock Bing to temporary safety, to keep him from being completely overwhelmed.
"Don't feel like listening? Then, I suppose the people of Earth will listen."
She hopped back up to the very top of the Lookout, glaring down at Megis with newfound venom in her eyes. If she was going to do this, it had to be fast. She doubted very much whether the Majin would halt his course now, but if his speech to begin this whole affair mattered as much to him as it seemed, there was at least a chance.
"I'll flood everyone who can listen with images of what you're doing here, with the violent lengths you're willing to go to in order to feel like some sort of great protector or future leader of Earth," she explained, clutching her staff more tightly in her hands. "It's like I said. You'll win the fight, but your other plans will be up in smoke."
To make it clear she wasn't bluffing, she lidded her eyes--and with the power of the Lookout swelling around her, projected a message upon wind and cloud.
To those that can hear me... my name is Ramen, and I am upon the ruins of the old Lookout with a martial artist named Bing Gan. We've encountered a Majin named Megis..."
Then, she paused, looking up to the Majin.
"So, how are you feeling? Do you want to be known for your violent actions here today? Or would you rather leave this place in peace? I'll spin some story about you rescuing us from certain danger to save your reputation, in that case."

Bing cursed himself as the Majin twirled around, wrapping him up in gummy-flesh. The species was so very strange, and worse yet, that strangeness was starting to get him killed.
Pummeled over and over, the young man lost sense of time and self. Before he knew it, he was suddenly tumbling end-over-end, his body indented on the side of a tree across the clearing.
Ramen had saved him, somehow. A sigh of relief shakily escaped, which was cut short by a sharp grunt of pain. His Gi was already torn in places, and a cut danced blood down the side of his head.
”You don’t have to kill us, Megis. You can still stop this.“
Turning to Ramen, he was surprised that her prowess extended to the art of telepathy as well. Not a legendary art by any means, but still incredibly hard to master. If she could really reach everyone on the planet, then…
Well, it might seal their fate.
Bing watched with bated breath and uneven stance, waiting and watching. Tired as he was, his soul was still brimming with Ki. Surely he could do something to harm the creature in a lasting way. Somehow.
Adopting his battle stance yet again, Bing steeled himself.

His onslaught came to an end when Ramen was able to knock Bing off of him. Megis made no effort to go after him; his attention not solely back on the old woman. Unfortunately, Megis hadn't even considered telepathy being involved, even though it was a technique that he himself had begun to work on only recently. "You... you won't dare!" Of course, she had no reason not to at this point, and began to tell the world of what was happening.
If she really thought that her threat would make Megis stop, she was wrong; dead wrong. Ramen's efforts pushed his fury into overdrive. No the only thing on his mind was how could he kill her as fast as possible. "I warned you! I warned the both of you! All you had to do was leave me to my peace!!!" Steam erupted from the head of Megis as he began his charge.
He rushed across the stone, charging himself at Ramen. At this point he had a good enough feeling to know that Ramen wasn't going to run, no matter how hard he tried to intimidate her. He had to finish her, here are now, so it was time for one of his most powerful attacks. Picking up speed, he grabbed his head, pushing and pulling it into a wider, flatter shape, so that he could better ram her down. Once he was just a few feet away he sprung himself at her, aiming to slam into the woman's face and hopefully taking her head right off!
Bing was likely to get involved; he may even try and throw himself in front of the poor woman. He was a hero like that. Hopefully he didn't; he thought that maybe once she was gone, he could be easier to talk to.

The Majin refused to give up. Ramen had been expecting as much: given how quickly he had abandoned his ploy to wait them out, she could tell patience wasn't his strong suit. He clearly wanted to stop her from sharing the details of his actions here, but he wasn't willing to change course to do it-- instead, he launched himself towards her.
He was fast, faster than she was -- and she knew she couldn't get away from him. She channeled her ki into the edge of her hand in a snap decision, and swung for him as he launched his headbutt. She managed to get in-front of him for it, but the technique couldn't dispel the energy in someone's head. All it did was slow his momentum enough to keep her from being completely defeated.
The impact still managed to throw her back several feet, and she crashed off of the roof of the Lookout chamber and into the stone tiles below. Every bone in her body told her to stay down, but she forced herself to rise. Her head stung, her back ached, and she was certain something in her hand had broken from even trying to contest that attack.
But, they had passed the point of no return.
She lidded her eyes, returning to telepathy--but this time, directed at Bing, rather than across the skies. She had to get a message to him specifically. There was no way the Majin would back down, and if she knew anything about their kind, he would want to steal all the power he could from this place--and them.
Bing. We can't hold him off any longer. On the count of five, we're both going to run. It isn't something that feels right, I know that--but we've done all we can here. There's no way he'll change his mind. He's set on power, and we don't have enough of it to stop him. You fly in one direction--I'll fly in the other. He'll chase me. You need to live to fight another day. Do not debate me on this.
She could feel her power beginning to wane, but she would still need to do something if she were to even make an escape possible. She knew that the Majin would probably stop her, but at the least she could make it more difficult for him to stop both of them. It was more important that Bing make it out in one piece.
"If you don't want people to know your actions, you should think about changing them. It's easier to convince people you're here to protect them when you act like you're here to protect them. I hope you learn that one day. This world could use better protectors than those that have failed it time and time again."
She led her words hang for barely more than a moment before launching herself backwards. For once, she let out a cry to accompany her kiai, abandoning the wordless form it had taken before. She blasted tiles and debris, dust and dirt, everything in an attempt to kick up as much of a storm towards Megis as she could. Then, as she turned to dart around in the opposite direction from Bing, she fired blasts of ki in every direction. They hurdled across the skies like decoys, aiming to fool Megis' senses just long enough to effect an escape... or, more to the point, the younger fighter's escape.

Things had gone from dire to hopeless in moments. Despite the trying times, Bing held his head as high as he could, biding time until his moment arrived. If Megis made a mistake, or overextended, then perhaps he could leave the beast reeling.
As he prepared himself to strike, he was met with a telepathic message from Ramen, urging him to run. Try as he might to find a reason to protest, he knew that dying here would simply mean Megis would roam free in the near-future.
Just because someone else might show up, didn’t mean Bing had to die to give them the time to arrive. He had to live on to ensure the defeat of this foe. One day, surely, he would accomplish this goal.
But he wouldn’t leave just yet. Not without giving Ramen a fighting chance to escape. With a stern nod to the elder warrior, he turned his attention towards Megis, and breathed deeply. Ki flowed through his extremities, first like a flowing faucet, but soon, it erupted from him like a burst pipeline. Mountains of Ki sloughed off his person in thick chunks, and with a roar, he brought his hands to his chest.
”It’s time… ENTER THE SNAKE’S MAW!”
Hands cupped together like the mouth of a beast, Bing thrust his arms forward with a sharp yell, letting loose a mighty wave of Ki! A spiraling emerald wave danced across the expanse, aiming to slam right into the Majin’s chest, exploding in a brilliant, cutting display, and leaving behind a plume of smoke.
Panting heavily, Bing nearly fell to a knee, kept up on both feet by adrenaline alone. He’d poured almost everything he had into that attack, leaving just enough power in him to run.
Turning on a dime, the Serpent Warrior dashed through the woods, stumbling through shrubbery and foliage. He wasn’t sure where he’d end up, but as long as it meant his survival, he wouldn’t much care.
Was this cowardice? He wondered if abandoning Ramen was the right thing to do. Sure, his attack might give the Majin pause as to who to chase, but in truth, the attack was rather easy to evade for a warrior so mighty.

Megis cried out in glee as he slammed his fists into Ramen. Even though she managed to block a decent portion of the attack, Megis still felt her life force dropping. She was fleeting, and soon he'd have the kill. Once again she tried to push her point on him, but once again Megis was past listening. "I am trying to protect them. To protect them I need this Lookout!" Megis brought his arms down to his side and began to gather power his power.
Ramen soon began striking erratically, kicking up a storm as she attempted to obfuscate their exact location. "Running? Already? You really think I can let you leave after all that's happened here!?" Megis stepped forward to give chase, though he found himself being struck in the chest by a massive wave of energy coming from out of view.
The wave had enough power to throw him backwards, leaving him momentarily disorientated. When he opened his eyes Megis saw a gaping wound laying across his chest; the pink bubblegum like substance he called skin was now charred and blackened. He let out a small cry as he poked at the burn, before another eruption of steam came from his head. By now both of them would have started their escape... he would only have time to grab one.
Megis shot both arms into the air, stretching them out several times over until he reached through the clouds. From there he joined them, before spinning them over and over and over again. Ramen's distraction had proved mildly effective, as he had trouble sensing where exactly they were. A mess of readings clouded his judgement, which meant he was essentially firing blind. He waited... and waited... and waited... and fired! Throwing down his pillars of flesh down, hoping to catch one of the two in flight.
Even as Ramen flew away from the cloud of smoke, she could hear the Majin professing the same point again: he was determined to rebuild the Lookout, and what was worse, he seemed convinced he was right. Her other suspicion rang true as well: now that his temper had flared up, there would be no stopping him.
And he didn't stop.
She came to a sudden halt in mid-air, twisting around to gather her energy again. She had only intended to leave if Bing had made it clear, but he was slower than her -- and pillars of Majin flesh were being hurled in every direction. That meant Bing's direction too.
She cussed under her breath and rocketed backwards with a sudden burst of speed. This would be the last act she could muster, she knew. She had already drained her energy to the breaking point trying to even hold the Majin off for this long, and getting to Bing in time would take the rest of it.
She made it in place just in time to fire off another kiai defensive wave, but the pillar struck her with a blistering force that nearly floored her right then and there. It caught her on the outstretched arm, and then on the inside of the arm she had drawn back to guard herself--and she was sure the second arm was broken, at a bare minimum. She let out a curse as she floated back down to the ground, barely landing on the edge of one of the pieces of debris.
"You reveal yourself too clearly," Ramen said, willing herself up to her feet once again. "You're deluding yourself if you think you're anyone's protector. If you were, you wouldn't have turned to violence so quickly here. If you were, you wouldn't have tried to stop either of us from leaving. If this was anything more than a flight of your own ego, you wouldn't be so willing to murder for it."
She shook her head once.
"Your victory here will turn to dust soon enough."
And then, she finally lived up to her promise. A voice sounded, as clear as could be, as if they were carried by the wind. She would signal the alarm, in some last act of defiance, to ensure that their actions here were not forgotten. And, more importantly--that Megis' actions were not forgotten.
Guardians of Earth.
The Majin Megis has captured the old Lookout. He intends to rebuild it for himself, and to capture its power for his own purposes. He may present himself as noble, may act as if he is your friend--but if you do not hear my voice again, you will know why.
He trusts words only so long as they get him what he wants. He seems to know no mercy. He intends to look down upon Earth from an ivory tower of his own conquest, and he has made clear he will kill those who defy him.
She stared him down, knowing he probably heard that message as clear as the rest.
"The damage is done," she said, flatly. "I hope the petty victory you feel you've won here was worth it. You get an extra kill for your troubles, at the cost of your reputation."
"Do you think the people of Earth will ever accept a guardian who would openly murder at the first sign of a non-violent disagreement?"
She managed a small smirk, despite the circumstances--despite her rapidly approaching fate, and the pain that reverberated through every inch of her body.
"You did a very good job of proving us right. I haven't seen someone so blindly violent in quite some time. If you had let us go, I might have dismissed the whole thing as a misunderstanding. My pride isn't so unshakable as yours."
She let herself fall back into a fighting stance, knowing full well she lacked the energy to defend herself.
"Now, finish it. It's clear you can't resist the temptation for revenge over being... delayed by a few minutes. It would be an awful shame if you didn't prove my warning right."

The thrumming of heart in his ears. The footfalls beating against grass and dirt. His ears had drowned out most of the sounds around him, focusing as much of himself as he could on escaping. His route was unclear, but if he just kept moving…
The numbness of his adrenaline suddenly dropped away, allowing him to hear the strange sound from above. Stretching gum..? He wheeled around, a shocked expression as a pillar of Megis descended upon him.
But it was stopped.
”No!”
Bing skid to a stop, his attention fully focused on Ramen. She’d taken yet another hit for him. How shameful. He should be the one protecting her! It was now, at the end, that he finally felt a pang of shame. Something he hadn’t felt in ages.
His stoic demeanor had finally subsided a bit, replaced with frustration and exhaustion. If only he’d been stronger, faster, or wiser. Maybe they’d have gotten away.
Ramen spoke sharp words, condemning the Majin. Bing simply sat idle, his hands balled into fists as he caught his breath. Shaking his head, he stepped forward, guarding the woman with his body. Even though they’d both go down here, at least he’d give her a few precious seconds of life.
”This is my fault. If I were faster, you wouldn’t have had to come back for me.”
Despite the pain and the exhaustion, he stood tall, arms splayed out to make sure Megis would have to go through him.
”Like I said; if we die, it’s because I failed first.”
