Surprisingly, the system that controlled the blinking light was responsive to the presence of Nervan and Budoshi. The floor around the two activated and began to move— a secondary elevator of sorts? In any case, the new area that they were brought to was very different. Though it looked like it was cleaned not long ago, this place was untouched, beyond untouched. It was previously perfectly sealed and tucked away from the fresh hell outside these many layers of (sometimes melting) walls. “Awgh, ewwwwwuh, it smells weird in here, like old books, sweaty socks and a doctor’s waiting room got thrown into a blender...” Budoshi exhaled sharply out of his nose. “But, uh, I guess it’s not like outside is any better.” It was hard to find worse air quality than an area permeated with the foulness of Destron, to be fair.
Nervan and Budoshi carefully examined the room they were now in— there were only a few things of note; a large central computer, attached to it was a strange device with hand prints indented into it. Perhaps it was some sort of activation mechanism? Moments later the lights snapped to life, revealing the third point of interest more clearly— a truly gargantuan sealed chamber. Budoshi wandered up to it first while Nervan examined everything else.
Budoshi wiped the frost away from the glass in such a way that he seemed to do so in a single motion of his hand. Despite his general disposition towards science he was excited by what he could only just barely see. Was this Bane?
Well, Guara would once again return with one of his pre-recorded messages to explain! The being within that giant machine was indeed the abandoned one the pair had sought, and the device was revealed to be an important part of the process that would awaken the creation. Budoshi almost turned right around to beeline it to the energy transference device, only to be stopped by Nervan. “We will activate the device. You should be closer to the chamber to confirm what is occurring.” There was a seriousness to Nervan’s voice that even Budoshi in all of his glee could not ignore. “Uh, alright. I suppose that’s sensible, Guara did mention an imprinting program. Maybe it works kinda like birds do? We’ll see, I guess!”
Budoshi turned his attention back to the large container while Nervan’s appearance seemed to vibrate, stretch and tighten all at the same time for but a single second, afterward, they looked only a slight bit less... Off. In any case, they were certainly stronger, strong enough to activate Bane. So, Nervan placed their hands on the appropriate indents of the transference device, wholeheartedly and willingly giving Bane energy, the spark of life, the chance. “Your story, begins now.”
Bane would be abandoned no longer.
