The last few weeks had been... interesting. On more than one occasion, Lottus had found himself bloody and broken - only to be healed and broken all over again. But never once had his encountered spelled then end for him; rather, Lottus was now leagues above the kind of power that should have been possible for a Low Class Saiyan.
Lottus had surveyed the battlefield where he'd fought at Vocado's behest - dragging the water creature and Rhapsody Shade into a battle... a battle they had no stake in. One of his own, a Saiyan by the name of Renkon he had learned, had become an Oozaru and complicated the battle. He should have been able to kill the two interlopers and gone back to fight the real challengers - instead, he'd been locked in a three against one struggle for his very life.
He'd survived the battle, but had to be taken down by Vocado when his mania had taken hold. A mania that was getting worse, he knew. Every time he used the power of his Wrathful state, he suffered intense migraines that just... blacked out his sensibility. Each time, it had felt like he was dragged into a dark world and chained there until the madness passed. And then he had encountered Rhapsody a second time - and the anger that burned in her was palpable. But rather than fight to kill him, she had relented. And rather than kill her when she had fallen out of consciousness, he'd helped her.
He'd gone out of his way to help her, cleaning and wrapping her wounds. Her response, when she'd awakened, was at first a suspicion of foul play at work. He'd seen the look in her eye that time. She ultimately told him that she wanted to help him. But there was no helping him, this much Lottus had decided. He was dying; and eventually, it would just... end.
The battles, he told Rhapsody, were his way of feeling alive. And this was true. Killing and fighting helped him fight off the ever increasing feeling of exhaustion - because the Destron that had infected him was finally reaching towards its intended goal. Soon enough, it would kill him, and then he would never have to hear someone call him a monster again.
Sankishin Kamae had called him a weakling and a fool. Fukushu thought him weak, and fairly easy to manipulate. Nasu was too difficult to get a read on. Vocado saw Lottus as a soldier, but little more in the scheme of things. Rhapsody saw him as something to pity. And Cato... Cato was something of a kindred in the spirit of something that didn't belong. He'd had fun fighting her.
Up until his madness took hold again. It happened every time now. At this point, if the Destron didn't kill him, one of these stronger warriors would. He hoped that it would be the latter - dying to that despicable Tuffle death cloud would be... He hated the notion of it.
Lottus arrived at a run down two story building. Half of the building had been destroyed, exposing the blackened rooms within. Lottus had made this place his home - unable to live around his own people. A ratty, dusty bed lay right where he'd left it. The basin of water had become filthy from the long time of stillness and disuse. Lottus walks past the exposed floor boards, and sits on the bed, causing a cloud of settled dust to burst into the air.
"...What now...?" Lottus mutters. He takes out the device Fukushu had given him, gazing at it as he considers his options. "If I take the Heran up on his offer, I get to die in battle."
Lottus reaches into his armor, and pulls out a deep blue gemstone, and holds it next to the device.
"He agreed to help me annihilate Tuffle labs... but he wants to produce more Destron." Lottus remarks. The memory of what the Destron did to Rapini, what it was doing to him... "How do I stop that...? Rapini... I hate the Tuffles for what their war machine did to you. I hate the Saiyans for being so weak that we couldn't just wipe out the Tuffles and prevent that weapon from being made in the first place..."
Lottus' eyes flick back to the device.
"...I can't let the Heran make more of the Destron." Lottus says, finality in his tone. "I won't let what happened to you, happen again."
Lottus puts the gemstone away, but keeps gazing at the device Fukushu had given him.
"I can't kill the Heran... so..." Lottus narrows his eyes. "If I'm going to stop the Destron from being produced on more worlds... I have to finish the war. For good."
Lottus grips the device in his fist.
"The Tuffles have to die." Lottus affirms. "...All of them."
