Piracy and Devils

"This place has been nothing but pains in the ass, I tell ya," Salvo grumbled as she redressed the bandages around her waist. It had been a hot minute since that mostly ill advised battle at the shrine, and it had taken that long for Salvo to start really recovering from the wounds she'd sustained. The Namekian she'd been fighting was easy enough for her to handle, but that Demon guy that had shown up at the end... Well, he was another story. Salvo was lucky that punch to her gut hadn't sent said guts bursting out her back with how hard the hit was. Maybe she should've asked him to go a bit lighter on that hit. Though, she did have a bit of a reputation to uphold among her crew, and, well, they didn't take her as one to run away from a fight. 

And, thanks to that little scuffle, they still didn't.

"Maybe we oughts ta cut our losses and head elsewhere," Romaine, a mainstay of Salvo's crew suggested as he watched her fix up her bandages. He was a bit of a meathead type of Earthling, but Salvo kept him around cause of how blindly loyal he was. "Not yet," Salvo replied, "The GP still hasn't picked up on our scent here, so we're as good off here as anywhere else. Besides, everyone else here besides that one guy who sent me flying through a mountain has been pretty easy to pick on."

Granted, as Salvo glanced over at their haul that had been amassed in the corner of the room, it was a fairly pitiful pile of mostly religious artifacts and old pieces of pottery. Oddly, Namekians didn't seem much for material possessions. Maybe they would be better off raiding some other, more technologically developed planet. But Salvo was still holding out hope that something of value was on this backwater planet.

As Salvo finished fixing up her bandages, she slipped her dark blue coat back on and buttoned up, then ordered her pilot to touch down so they could survey the land. According to their navigation, they were somewhere in the Dragon Isles, which seemed to be a relatively remote part of this already remote planet.

"There seems to be some sort of farm below," Pare, Salvo's Brenchian pilot called out to her as she checked the scanners. "Shall I land elsewhere?" Salvo shook her head. "Nah, who gives a damn about these Namek farmers? They won't do anything about it if we land on their fields. Besides, it's just dirt." Pare nodded, then brought the ship down, which descended swiftly from the sky, threatening to land on and crush both the farming equipment and all the soil that had carefully been excavated, along with all the crops!

As far as proper cordials went, Salvo surmised that the two of these demon folk weren't entirely devoid of them. The one with the silly looking red scarf remained amicable enough, and Salvo forced a chuckle at his comment about the mountain, though noted to herself that she absolutely had to get herself strong enough to send him through a mountain at some point in the hopefully not overly distant future. As for the other one, while there was definitely more venom on his tongue than there had been with Erebos, he didn't seem particularly keen on starting any sort of fight himself, either.

So, in short, everything was fine.

"Naw, me crew'll be on their best behavior, and the like," Salvo promised, "We be lookin' simply fer a place to put our boots up fer a spell." Besides, it wasn't like there was a whole lot around these backwater islands to loot. If they wanted to become carrot and radish thieves, then maybe. 

Salvo also noted that the second demon appeared to have a little girl with him - a daughter oy younger sister, perhaps? Though, it seemed the little thing was shy, so all Salvo did was wink down at her with a smile in an odd little form of saying 'hello.' The actual adult she was with was spouting some kind of nonsense about genetics and trees and sustainable life and all that razz... Nothing Salvo particularly cared for. In fact, she let out a somewhat involuntary snort.

"Beg pardon, did you just-" she coughed, then continued, "Did ye just run a rig 'bout me and me crew doin' a farmin' job? For ye? Did ye happen not to notice we're pirates, ya blockhead? Doin' honest work ain't exactly a thing in our line o' work!" Salvo turned towards Erebos, cackled, punched him on the shoulder maybe a little harder than was a usual friendly gesture, then jabbed a thumb at the other demon's direction as she asked "Can ye believe this bilge-sucker? Askin' a pirate crew and a demon to plant 'is weeds for 'im."
