The demon seemed to be trying to play a distraction, and so Kohi made his move. He launched himself into the sky with the full of his newfound speed, moving dramatically faster than he had mere moments ago. He aimed not to get behind the demon, but rather to place himself against the backdrop of the sun -- to make it more difficult, or at least more inconvenient for the demon to get a good look at him. As he fell from the sky, he began to channel his energy into his body, smoke beginning to rise as his muscles contorted, shifted -- and then expanded dramatically. By the time he came clear out of the sun's glare, his muscle mass had tripled -- quadrupled even.

An experienced fighter might be able to pinpoint the weakness with such a stunt, the energy sustaining his powerful new form both volatile and unsustainable. But he didn't need to fight like this for long, he just needed to get off one good attack. It might not be enough, if their opponent still had tricks up his sleeve. But if luck was on his side, it might just be enough. He cupped his hands together by his side, and began to expend all that built up energy into his palms. It began as a flicker of ki, a little glimmer of the crimson energy he had demonstrated before.

"This is it," he murmured to himself. "If this doesn't work..."

The energy continued to build between his hands, right up until he drifted past the roof of the store. As soon as he had an angle to fire that wouldn't result in the entire store being vaporized, he thrust both hands forward and released all that gathered energy. He could feel his muscles recoil as the bulked form seared in pain, every ounce of the power he had built up being thrust into that one, massive attack: a wave of bright red energy, crackling with excess power, as if so much of his energy had been contained into one small space that it was trying to escape even as it was being funneled into a beam.

But while some power may have sparked off like little volts of red electricity, there was no doubt where the beam was heading. If his earlier attack swamped the store in a crimson glow, then this larger attack blanketed the entire city block. It wouldn't last long, and perhaps it wouldn't even have the impact that he hoped -- but for that brief moment, his MAX Power Bakuharamune gleamed with all the strength he could muster.

As the last wisps of power left his finger-tips, he felt his body being rocketed backwards through the air. His muscle mass shrank back down to normal, even before he collided into the ground with such a heavy crash that he sent rock and asphalt spraying across the street. It was only the merciful presence of a parked car that finally stopped his momentum, as he slammed into it and left a sizeable dent in the door. His eyes slowly peaked open, and he gazed upwards, in the hopes that the results might have matched the effort.
