Earth. Peaceful and serene. Known across the cosmos for its acceptance and opportunity. Warm air and idle chatter fill the streets of South City as life moves ever-onward. Things seem average today; there’s a sale at the grocery store, a musician strumming away on a street corner… and a woman screaming bloody murder?
The eerie scene breaks the thin calm veneer of the city. Unease sets in as the woman scrambles out of the grocery store, her open purse spilling out onto the sidewalk as she hurriedly clamors away. Looming over her is the shape of a man. Thin and tall, the armored monster sticks out like a sore thumb among the average inhabitants of this quaint countryside.
”Tch. Talk about dramatic.”
Erebos, the Demon Prince, steps out onto the street. Collecting the purse in his hand, he lets the bag strap dangle limply from his finger as he inspects the item. It was so decidedly Earthling in design. He’d run across things like it before, but nowhere else in the cosmos did people store their things in something so… Gaudy.
”I was only asking her if she knew a decent blacksmith. My sword’s got a chip in it.”
Held in a loose grip in his other hand was a sword. Simple in design, sure, but a sword’s still a sword. There was, however, noticeably a small sliver of metal missing from the tip of the blade, giving it an odd silhouette if you looked at it the wrong way.
Turning back to the grocery store, he let the purse slide off his finger and onto the street, shrugging at the sound of growing panic behind him. The woman had collected her phone from the floor, and had begun dialing emergency services. ”I guess I could just remake it, but this one was pretty cool. Whatever.” With a snap, the sword melts into his palm, and reforms moments later, good as new.
”What were we doing here, again?” He turned to the clerk, who was coated in a layer of sweat. ”Kaza! Where’d you go? What were we here for?! Was the sale really good or something?”
Hand on his hip, he cocked his brow as he raised his head to try and get a better look at the back end of the store. Was his Majin friend down there somewhere, or had they gotten separated again?
Tapping his foot impatiently, he continued to stare past the fellow at the counter, who was slowly reaching for something beneath the register...
