It was early morning as the sun's rays began to filter through the bedroom window in a cascading light. Kombu slumbered on his bed, but not peacefully. The Saiyan tossed and turned in a dampened bed while he remained drenched in sweat. His comforter had become tangled in his legs like a giant constrictor. On the outside, it appeared that Kombu was experiencing a bad dream. Soft moans and grunts emitted between pants as he fought an unseen enemy. But to the man who was lying in torment, he was experiencing something authentic.
Kombu stood against Kowlin, Virus, and Dai on that fateful night on Mount Five Element, where the Moon's wellbeing lay on the precipice. However, the dream's events had taken a more sinister turn than they had initially been. Kombu stood alone against the three villains. He started to power up, pouring all that he could into his strength to face the enemies. However, each foe grew and grew to gigantic proportions, and their faces grew more and more twisted and conniving. Kombu looked past them now, and became frozen in terror as he witnessed the very Moon itself start to crumble. And as it did, the nightmarish foes turned into shadows before each pounced on the helpless Saiyan, thus swallowing him up in darkness and despair.
The Saiyan shot up in his bed with a yelp. He panted as he struggled to catch his breath. The sweat cooled his body as the recent nightmare chilled him to the bone.
"Just a dream," Kombu murmured after a hard swallow.
But he knew that though the events were a nightmare, the fact remained that the moon had been partially destroyed by Kon and her ilk. But his thoughts would be derailed once his mother, Verna, peeked in to check on her son.
"Kombu," she called, a worried look on her visage. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Kombu sighed, wiping his brow. "Just a bad dream. I'm okay."
"Alright," Verna replied, pursing her lips. "Well, there's someone at the door for you. He didn't give a name, but he says the President needs to meet with you?"
Kombu looked to his mother with interest. "The President? Hm. Okay. Tell him I'll be on my way."
The Saiyan wasted no time in preparing to head out for the day. He ate a small breakfast, at least, small for a Saiyan, and proceeded to take a refreshing shower to clean the sweat from his body. After producing a well-fitting suit via magic, he set out to meet the President of Earth. He had hoped to meet with the Leader of the Earth, anyway. Kombu needed to warn the planet of the threats that lingered.
It was not much longer until Kombu had arrived at the King's Castle. Flying had its benefits. And soaring so high had helped clear Kombu's head for the meeting that was to come. The man landed softly on the pavement just beyond the steps that led to the castle. He quickly adjusted his tie and shirt cuffs.
"Here we go."
