SPECIES TRAITS
SAIYAN PRIDE: When you have sustained 100% or more damage, you gain a +10% boost to all techniques, but you may not boost techniques with momentum. Healing to the point where you have less than 100% damage sustained deactivates this bonus.
BURNING KI: Once per thread, you may spend momentum in increments of 2 to regain KP at a cost of 2 MP to 1 KP.
ZENKAI: Upon being damaged 150% or more in one thread, gain a +10% bonus to thread completion. If you heal from 150% or more, you may gain that completion bonus up until that point mid-thread, for immediate application to your PL. Only usable in Action Threads, and only occurs once a thread.
GENERAL TRAITS
QUICK LEARNER: You gain technique slots every 8,000 PL instead of every 10,000 PL.
IMPOSSIBLE RECOVERY: If you are defeated by taking Critical Damage in an Action Thread, you can choose to be dealt a Wound and continue the fight with whatever HP you have remaining. If defeated again, you will be dealt an additional Wound. In a non-AT thread, this allows you to resist Critical Damage once, and you do not sustain a wound.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
BACKGROUND: Planet Sadala. The origin homeworld of a race of warriors known as the Saiyans; humanoids with simian tails who enjoy the thrill of battle. It would be this planet where Kombu's story begins. Not through his own experiences, but from two Saiyans falling in love. His father, Leak, and his mother, Verna.
While most of the Saiyan Race could be described as bloodthirsty warriors who wanted nothing more than to subjugate and conquer the weak, Leak and Verna were among a handful of Saiyans who did not quite share the same views. While they did enjoy the thrill of combat, and tested their skills constantly against other warriors, they still had compassion and refused to kill just for the fun of it.
Eventually, the life of Sadala would come into question. The planet underwent extreme environmental trauma. Some believe it was due to incredibly dangerous weather fluctuations. Regardless, the Saiyans needed to evacuate. Their home was no longer safe. It was time to find a new life on a different world. But while the royalty decided to relocate to a world called Plant, Leak and Verna had other ideas.
The two entered unattended space pods under the cover of darkness. They did not quite feel at home among their own people despite knowing that a portion of Saiyans shared the same views as them. Instead, they decided to start a new life somewhere fresh. And after launching off of their dying planet, they set a course for a hospitable world roughly a month's worth of travel away.
The lovers' space pods careened through the atmosphere of a green world covered mostly by water. Like falling stars, their pods lit up as they fell through the heavens. Eventually both crashed in the Southern Tropics on a large uninhabited island, creating craters in their wake. It would be on this island where Leak and Verna would begin their new lives.
By Age 994, Leak and Verna were blessed with the arrival of a son; Kombu. The pair made sure to raise him to have a good head on his shoulders. They made sure to teach him about good morals, and taught him about respect, honesty, kindness, compassion, dignity, as well as other important qualities to have. They also trained him how to fight from a young age. Like all Saiyans, they believed it was never too soon to become a fighter.
Now an adult, Kombu's dream is to continue to grow in power so that he can protect those who cannot defend themselves. He also dreams of one day exploring the cosmos to expand his worldview and live new experiences. Perhaps, someday, he will visit the new homeworld of the Saiyans.
