Why.
Why did they care for her so much? It was all too much to wrap her head around. It seemed that wherever she went, there were people that cared for her no matter what she did. First, it was Tarch and now it was Hazel. While Kon was slightly taken aback by the way Hazel rebutted her question, especially with how emotionally charged it was, she still stood her ground. "No, but I deserve to die. It's only fair. An eye for an eye, I killed lots of people then." She said, plainly. Although she definitely did not want to be executed, it was something that was bound to happen eventually. Society didn't like people like her, and as a result, she had already resigned herself to the fact that she could never be normal, and thus it was the path she had to take eventually.
As Hazel continued on her emotional speech, a certain word caught her attention. Empathy. It was that one thing that all the people tried to instill within her when she was younger, yet even then she had a hard time understanding what it meant to begin with. Why would someone care for another aside from themselves, especially if their own life is shitty? From what she had seen this was all a dog-eat-dog world and while banding together to bring down the strong was a viable idea, caring unless they were someone quite close for another was something that perplexed her. She could experience a bit of that with her brother, but what Kon couldn't understand was why Hazel felt this to her, to begin with. They met only a month or so ago yet she cared for her, offering her a second chance. It was what she thought was foolish. She didn't deserve any of this so why were they giving her a second chance.
Yet despite these thoughts that came to her mind, she felt her eyes growing wet. Raising up a finger, wiped her damp eyes she noticed the teardrop lingering on the side to her visible surprise. Kon typically thought she had tough skin and she could count the number of times she cried on both of her hands, yet why was she feeling like this? She hated it, especially with how vulnerable she was feeling. Even if she wasn't explicitly sobbing out loud, the fact that this out of everything had gotten a reaction out of her was annoying. As such, she did her best to wipe the tears away as best as she could, although it wasn't long before more replaced them. "You all are idiots. You will regret this one day." She said quietly, as she tried to wipe away her tears. Although her words sounded as a threat, the tone gave away her true intention. Like everything else she said, it was just another matter of fact.
Seeing as the topic made her uncomfortable, she quickly decided to focus on another thing Hazel said, something that confused her. Another form? What was she talking about? "I don't know what you mean." She said flatly, trying to think of any instances where she had "another form" yet all attempts were for naught. Was there something she was unaware of?
