Koban blinked himself awake as his pod began making an ungodly amount of noise, he had been in transit to Earth for just under a week now, a long trip due primarily to the age of his pod, age that was apparently catching up to it far faster than the hero had anticipated as several alarms were going off indicating various problems with the pod. Koban shook his head a few times to clear his mind and properly wake himself up before looking around to assess the situation.
The good news was that the life support systems were still fully functional which was great because just about everything else about the pod save for the propulsion WAS failing, apparently the ship had been hit by something during his rest and that had caused a cascade of other problems leading to his current situation… which waaas,...
Koban tapped the controls a few times trying to get some sort of feedback, he got a bit and the verdict was ‘crash imminent, all systems critical’ not the best. “Well, thats not good” Koban muttered with a great degree less urgency than his situation likely should have entailed.
He could see that through the view glass that he was just about breaking through Earth’s atmosphere and thankfully his crash site appeared to be wilderness which was essentially the bulk of the reason he was able to remain calm. Some injury to himself was certainly not GOOD but was infinitely better than his ship coming down on a city or even a small town.
With a sigh Koban waited a bit longer until he was roughly certain the pod was close enough that escaping from it would put him somewhere with a reasonable air supply, with that he then shifted himself around in the pod and slammed his foot into the hatch.
The hatch however remained in place, the impact that caused all of this having actually dented the outside in enough that it was effectively ‘locked’ Koban raised an eyebrow and with a bit more urgency kicked again, and again, and then once more as his ship steadily approached the ground.
“Ok then, maybe a bit more effort” Koban said with a sigh and for a brief moment his muscles bulked up and his power surged as he landed one last powerful kick on the hatch sending it flying off into the distance and allowing the caped fighter to launch himself out of the ship just moments before it crashed.
Koban let out a breath of relief as he released the power surge and caught himself in midair with his flight, righting himself after a moment so he could survey the damage his pod had done, while the area was entirely wilderness it would still not do to let the crash cause any undue harm and he was especially concerned on the potential for a forest fire.
