”Alright, another match is about to begin in this monolithic tournament! Stay in your seats, folks!”
Though the previous match had only ended a few moments ago, the damage to the stage had been neglible. Enough so to warrant another match beginning near-immediately! They were on a tight schedule thanks to the high volume of early entrants, so they needed to speed things along just a tad.
Sliding back into position center-stage, the Announcer adjusted his glasses as those in the crowd who’d been eager to stretch their legs filed back into their seats.
”This next match promises to be a doozy, folks! We’ve got the incredible Mister Steel, versus the mysterious Dai! Both competitors were up against rather… strange circumstances in their previous bouts. How will they fare against a proper opponent?”
This time, it seemed the crowd had rather mixed reactions. With neither competitor being properly tested this far into the tournament, it was hard to say whether or not they’d put on a good show. Only time would tell just how much of a fight either one could put up.
”Im sure you’re both aware already but allow me to reiterate the rules: no flying, maiming or outside interference. Ringout, knockout or forfeit are the way to win. Have fun, and give these folks a fight to remember!”
The Top 16 Rounds of the Tenkaichi Budokai begin! This fight will end on May 5th at the time of this thread's creation if someone hasn't lost by then!

Kon's PL: 25,000 | Ki Suppression On! Her PL is now 1,000. Items: Scouter
After getting an unsatisfactory match the previous round, Kon sure hoped that this round would prove to be much better. This time she was up against someone that was slightly more familiar than her previous opponent, a man that he met while off hunting those strange beans back then. However, the fact that he was familiar meant nothing to her, especially when she was taking on the mantle of Dai. To her, he was a stranger and her opponent in this match and nothing else This time though, she was hoping for a much better fight and after hearing about the similar conditions her opponent faced in his match, Kon thought that maybe Steel would share the same sentiment as she had.
Unlike before, the audience seemed far less enthusiastic than they had before seeing how their matches had gone before. Not that it mattered, it just made it easier for her to walk up to the stage and keep up her aloof façade under this identity. Kon had to secretly swallow her disappointment, hoping to hear the cheers of the crowd as she walked out. Well, it didn't matter. They would soon come and get the fight that they wanted now that she was up against a proper opponent. Her hand went up to her mask to calibrate the scouter device installed within. She wanted to quickly measure his strength, making sure he would actually prove to be a challenge this time around. She wasn't aware of how strong he was in their previous meeting, making this fight all the more unknown. Otherwise, she planned to eliminate him as quickly as possible as to not waste any more energy than she already had to and move on to the next round.
For now, though, Kon (or Dai as the audience knew her) stood still, ready to react to any move Steel planned to make, ready to unleash her full power if he turned out to be much stronger than she had originally anticipated he would be.

Donût had been rather excited before the last round began. Not only had he proven his strength and skill against a man trained by one of the oldest "true" martial arts schools around, but his next opponent had been his own instructor! Cassidy "Cowboy" Cerrone! The man, the myth, the legend would have given him a proper test of his new skills and ideas. However, Cassidy had apparently sustained an injury before the bout began, and was forced to dip out. This left Donût high and dry, and Mister Steel untested, unbested, and too well-rested.
He'd spent the previous round watching other bouts, cheering for people he knew and people that caught his eye. But it wasn't the same as getting to actually bloody his knuckles against another trained fighter.
Thankfully, his next opponent didn't dip out. Hopefully, she'd be strong enough to give him a real test of his abilities, to really put the Unbreakable Mister Steel through his paces. Hopefully. Donût still couldn't read or sense ki, like other fighters could. He wasn't even aware that such power was an option, he just wondered how some of them could react so quickly to his attacks and getting behind them. So he had no idea how close he was to "Dai" in base power. Donût just knew that Dai had, like himself, had not received a proper fight.
As he did every time he entered the ring, Donût began to work the crowd. He grinned upon entering the sunlight, and delivered a few super-sonic sucker-punches to the empty air. This caused whip-crack sized sonic booms to echo out over the arena, and the crowd to start cheering. The loudest voices were those belonging to people from East City.
After getting about halfway to the arena proper down the little paved path, Donût leaped high up into the air. Higher... higher... high enough that, went he tucked his body in and shifted his weight, he had enough time to flip head over foot over head over foot about three or four times before landing firm on a single foot across from Dai. Another cheer rose.
Now, Donût was in full Mister Steel mode, though he wasn't in full costume. Sure, he had the orange pants and the hot-pink boots, he even had the shades that completely obscured his eyes. However, that fight with Wryce had left him missing a gi-top. This meant his obscenely buff torso was on full display in all of its hairy glory. Especially when he flexed for the audience and announced himself,
"ALRIGHT, YA MASKED MANIAC! GET READY... CAUSE YER FACIN' THE UNBREAKABLE... MISTER... STEEEEEEEEEEL!"
Mister Steel is entering this thread with zero items and a lotta moxxie! Thread PL: 25,000 6/6 KP 0/6 MP
Her new opponent seemed to be quite a showman, seeing how he was capable of riling up the crowd with a few supersonic punches. That alone showed that he was capable of some supernatural feats, seeing how most people she knew, martial artists and otherwise couldn't do that. That alone did make her feel a bit more relieved and comfortable that she was fighting against someone strong, giving her the proper fight that she desired. Her guess was quickly confirmed as her mask displayed his power level, being roughly around her own from what the others told her as they scanned her. That was good, that just meant that she could go all out without fear of beating him too easily. Not that she actually cared in the first place.
In comparison to Mister Steele's enthusiastic display and flashy clothing, Kon's own mannerisms were more subdued and appearance. It was clear that he won the crowd's favor, although that meant nothing in terms of the fight. She couldn't care less who they supported, seeing how their approval meant nothing when it came to strength. Kon said nothing in response to his introduction. There was no way she could risk it, more than ever now seeing how he was someone that she had met in the past. Instead, she would shift into a fighting pose herself, ultimately letting go on any restrictions that she placed on herself. It was almost relieving to finally let go of that handicap as she could finally be herself. Kon stared at her opponent for a moment, turning her head slightly to the side to see if he was going to make the first move.
Seeing how he was too occupied with his little display though, Kon decided to take the honor of the first strike to herself. Seeing how he was close to her, she began to test his strength a bit, leading with what appeared to a punch to his face. However, she never intended to follow through, instead using it as a distraction to keep him from realizing her true attack. Just before her arm would land on his face, she intended to drop down and sweep his legs with her own, hoping to knock him down on the ground to begin with. To be honest, Kon hoped that this would take him down a few notches, seeing how his extravagant display was beginning to get on her nerves. After being used as a commercial in her last fight, she didn't intend to be made a fool in her next one either.

Steel fell for Dai's trap hook line and sinker. While he hadn't been in a combat stance, due to his posturing and flexing, he had reacted quickly to the fist that was seemingly coming for his face. One arm was quickly raised to block it. However, no blow came. Instead, his legs were swept out from under him in a movement he hadn't seen. As he fell back towards the ground, he chided himself for his lack of awareness. The bout had already begun and he was still showboating! Rookie mistake...
With reflexes that were too quick, perhaps he was used to getting knocked down, Steel's hands touched the ground beneath him before his body could impact it. With his hands firmly planted, his arms seemed to act almost like springs... bending at the elbows and taking some tension before suddenly shoving against the tile of the arena. While he was pushing himself up, he pointed his legs straight out. This meant that she either had to get out of the way of his recovery, or take a two-foot kick to the face. Either way, he was leaping behind her current position to get to his feet.
"Heh! Almost got me there!"
Once he was up, he got into a proper fighting stance. One arm raised up and forward from his face, the other held close to his core. His feet were kept spread a bit, but they didn't stay still. He was constantly moving, shifting... And then he was sending a cross-punch at the strange woman's chest. A cross-punch infused with enough energy to make his limb feel like solid metal...

The man was far more agile than she initially thought he was. If anything, she would give him that at the very least. As she swept his legs from underneath him, she had fully expected that he would fall prone and she would be able to retaliate. Unfortunately, things didn't go her way and she had to adapt to it. Seeing how she wasn't able to move away fast enough before he would launch upwards with his two-footed kick, the best Kon was able to do was block it with her arms, sending her pushed backwards slightly. Underneath her mask, she winced although she managed to withstand the attack. Now, she really had to be careful, lest she would really pay for this in the future.
This time, Kon was far more prepared for her next attack, seeing how she anticipated it as he shifted into a fighting stance. No longer would she expect too little of her opponent, seeing how he was trained. The only reason she was able to match him was through sheer strength, something which made it extra dangerous for her and something she knew about. Trying her best, she observed the man's movement, hoping that at least she would be able to at least keep up with him for now.
As he readied his next attack, so did Kon. She saw his body shift and thus she anticipated a punch herself. As her arms were already up, merely infused ki into her hand in an attempt to meet his own strike with a similar amount of force. His fist collided with her palm with roughly equal amount of strength. Their exchanged blow would let out a brief shockwave, one that could be felt across the stage and perhaps even a gust by the audience. She let out another grunt from the force, although this time Kon dug her heels in so she wouldn't be pushed any further towards her side of the arena. She was only fortunate enough not to sustain any further damage. However, there was no way she wasn't going to take this opportunity she had. The moment his hand collided with her palm, her fingers attempted to grasp his knuckles to keep him from pulling it back. Instead, she utilized this opportunity to aim for a kick to a groin. Maybe it wasn't as strong as her ki infused attack from earlier, Kon was pretty confident at the very least it would cause him some pain.
Kon's retaliates with First Strike, sending 5,000PL of her own towards Steele. Seeing as they are completely equal in strength, this attack "fizzles" so she then follows it up with a non-KP attack of her own again.

The Unbreakable Mister Steel... found that his fist was held firm by his opponent's grip. In the moments that he took to wrestle it free, a foot that he hadn't been keeping track of went flying. And for the second time in less than a minute, a kick took Steel by surprise.
Once upon a time, he had worn a cup to protect his most vulnerable area. Even in the best regulated and refereed of amateur mixed-martial arts fights, blows below the belt were not unheard of, after all. However, such a device proved ineffective against fighters that had unlocked their ki, and fighters that hadn't unlocked their ki couldn't really hurt Steel anymore. Steel's only hope against such an attack was to harden his body before any blow made contact. He had been unable to do so in this instance.
Hands reflexively wrestled free of Dai's fingers and reached to cover the space between his legs. As he protected his unmentionables, Steel took in deep breaths through his nose that he let out through his mouth as hissing sighs. His eyes bulged behind his shades, and his brow furrowed as he struggled to regain his equilibrium. Thankfully, or perhaps unfortunately, Mister Steel had developed some resistance to such a dirty attack. While Dai would undoubtedly manage to get a few extra punches and kicks in, the mysterious masked woman wouldn't get to fully capitalize on her attack.
"Gunna fight dirty, eh? Fine then... I didn't wanna use this technique... *hff*... but ya gave me no choice..."
Mister Steel released a flurry of blows with just his fingertips. Each strike was aimed at a particular point on Dai's body. A point that matched up, more or less, with a diagram of pressure points that the buff little Earthling had once studied extensively after watching an animated show about a martial artist wandering a wasteland after the apocalypse.
Steel unleashes his Discombobulate technique at 30% PL! 7,500 PL is heading Kon's way! -4 KP 1/6 KP +2 MP (+1 for posting, +1 for using a technique!) 4/6 MP
It didn't really matter if he wanted to protect his crotch, seeing how he had opened himself up to a few attacks in the meanwhile. Although she really did wish she was able to get such a satisfying hit in, a few extra strikes were also greatly appreciated. Instead, Kon aimed for other potentially vulnerable areas, such as attempting a karate chop to the neck, another kick to his fingers and ultimately an attempted headbutt in hopes that she would disorient him. Fortunately, the mask was strong enough to provide her with a bit of cushion and wouldn't break through such an attack. Maybe she would continue to wear this even after the tournament ended with how helpful it had been so far.
Nonetheless, after attempting to get a few extra hits in from his opening, Steel would then prepare himself with another technique. With his words, Kon was given ample time to prepare for such a strike. Immediately, she channeled as much energy as she possibly could into her legs, giving her the quick boost that she needed to completely jump out of the way of Steel's incoming attack before it could hit her. She couldn't risk taking any damage even if they were of equal power. Unlike her, Steel appeared to be a trained martial artist and thus taking the blow of a skilled fighter wasn't the best idea. For now, all she believed she could do was dodge and hope for the best. It was annoying being unable to access the power that always seemed to come to her if she was angry. If only there was a way she could channel it on her own...
There wasn't much time to think about hypotheticals though and Kon knew that there was no time to waste in a tournament. Almost as soon as her feet once again touched the floor, her fingers began to crackle with green ki as she charged up another attack. Within seconds, the green ki exploded and began to arch towards Steel, even following his every direction if he were to try and avoid it just like she had done with her attack before. However, Kon made sure to charge it with a bit more power than it typically had, hoping to harm this martial artist even more than normal. Not only would this make a showy performance that the audience would most likely eat up, but she simply wanted to eliminate him as soon as possible, making it easier for her to move forward in the brackets.
Kon evades discombobulate with Out of My Way! She then attacks with Manifesting Fury (flavored as just as a ki attack without the combo stuff involved) that is enhanced with an MP boost, bringing its power up to 30%. So that's also 5,000 heading towards Steel's direction.

Steel's arms were moving in a blur as he tried to strike at every single pressure point that he remembered from that old pamphlet. Hopefully hitting one or two of them would allow him some advantage... It was only after he'd made all of his well-practiced blows that the squat man realized his opponent had simply gotten out of the way of his whirlwind of pain at the very last moment. Just before he could actually hit her. He idly wondered if this was how his own opponents felt, before he saw what appeared to be green sparks of lightning building up in Dai's hand.
He charged, trying to get ahead before Dai could unleash their attack. But... he was too late. A beam of green energy was shooting his way. The squat man used his combat instincts to duck down and to the side, away from Dai's attack. Then he grinned, charging forward... He was gonna get this masked madwoman while she was unaware! It was perfect! He leaped up to deliver what was often colloquially called a "Superhuman" punch...
That was when he was struck in the side by a searing heat that had the force and power of a big fist. The green beam. The one that he'd dodged. It had somehow looped around and followed Steel, despite his dodging. As he was shoved towards the edge of the arena, he shouted...
"THAT'S SO COOOOOOOOL!"
He planted his feet into the arena's freshly-replaced tile, digging twin furrows into the floor with his hot-pink booted feet. As he did this, Steel held his arms out to his side, to try and protect his gut from any further burn damage. It almost didn't work, it almost didn't pay off... but somehow, some-way, he was able to keep himself from going over the edge of the raised platform that designated the end of the ring. He smelled of sweat, cooked pork, and burning hair... but he was alive. And his shaded eyes looked to Dai with a new sense of determination.

Maybe she was overestimating their match in the first place. Despite being a trained martial artist, Kon had the very least had the advantage over this situation, knowing how sporadic her ki was when she released it like this. Dodging it wouldn't help, especially with how it had arched across the stage desperately searching for its target. Unfortunately for Steel and fortunately for her, he didn't know this. Nonetheless, Kon still responded to his attack, worrying that it wouldn't hit him until it was too late. By then she had already had her arms up, ready to defend herself when her attack finally struck him. What was frustrating was how close he was to the edge of the arena. Perhaps if she put in a bit more power into her attack she would have managed to ring him out completely.
Oh well, ring outs weren't particularly fun in the first place as she learned in her previous match. The best fights were won through a good old beatdown and even if she was under another persona, this didn't change Kon's opinion. The fight was only getting started and it would only grow more intense from here. Calmly, she walked towards Steel once again. She saw the look of determination in his eyes and she too was getting excited. It had been such a long time since she felt like this, fighting just for fun rather than for her life like she had to do all those different types. Maybe she really should do this more often.
As she moved closer to the martial artists, more balls of ki formed in her hand. While they were not as powerful as her previous attacks had been, they still had some force behind them. Her goal wasn't to damage him now, but rather wear him out with minute attacks such like this. After her previous maneuver, she needed to buy a few moments to regain enough energy to retaliate with an attack of her own. Still, she kept her guard up just in case he planned on doing something interesting himself.

Mister Steel charged forth right when Dai did, mostly to get away from the edge of the arena. He wasn't going to risk a ring-out now, not when the fight was just getting interesting! As Dai unleashed little ki-bullets, Steel tanked the blows. Once he got up close, the mixed martial artist unleashed a flurry of his own blows. These were not shiny, green, crackling ki bullets, though. They were, instead, regular jabs in punch and kick form. The flurry seemed a bit... odd... Like Steel wasn't really trying to hit Dai. Perhaps he was just trying to test her defenses? Each strike was so weak, relatively, and so quick and so off-center from the optimal punching point.
In fact, that was Steel's plan. He just needed to try and force Dai to back up, give him a little space, and see where her weak-points were. Did that mask give her full visibility? Or did it restrict her vision in any way? Perhaps it blocked her peripheral vision, making his fists appear to disappear when they went near the side of her head. Perhaps it kept her from being able to see too far, or only let her see through some hidden slits, blocking the view from above and below.
Steel uses no technique this turn again. +2 KP 5/6 KP +1 MP for posting 5/6 MP
Was he giving up? As he ran towards her, ready to unleash another volley of attacks she had expected actual strength behind them. But to her surprise, the blows was much weaker than she had anticipated. In fact, Kon even thought she had been overcompensating for them. Midway through his attack, she simply stopped defending, instead planning on tanking each blow once again. After all, they were also getting increasingly more difficult for her to block seeing how they were aimed towards every direction. It was not due to the visibility issues from her mask which otherwise did not restrict her sight aside from once the attacks went closer to her head. but simply because Kon was getting overwhelmed by so many attacks at once.
Even besides from this, she grew tired of just taking all of the blows from his attack, seeing how Kon figured that maybe that was his next plan: to wear her down until he was finally overtake her. The idea that he was trying to figure out her weak points never occurred to her, and this time she would begin pushing back herself. As he continued his assault on her body, she planned on enduring his blows for a short period of time before retaliating with a simple punch in the gut, right where her previous attack had struck him to aggravate the injury further. It was a dirty tactic, indeed, but Kon had never been one to follow the general conduct. As long as it didn't disqualify her and she could carry on it was all fair game to her.

When Kon's fist struck Mister Steel's side, he didn't react. This was very odd, considering that the squat Earthling had gotten struck hard enough to bruise his ribs and burned bad enough to leave a mark. Even more odd, her fist probably was more sore than it should have been after striking flesh... it probably felt more like she was hitting metal. This was actually not an intentional block, or technique, but a side-effect of Steel's plan.
Mister Steel uses his Sparking Technique, KO PUNCH! -4 KP 1/6 KP -5 MP 0/6 MP Preparation activates, starting his technique at 70% PL... Back-Up Plan is now active, giving him a 30% PL sustained defensive technique! He's got a pool of 7,500 PL for defending against Kon's attacks! Steel's whole body was being flooded with extra energy as he channeled all of his spare power towards his right arm. His whole body was as solid as iron... but his arm was starting to... twitch. It was as if his muscle and flesh and bone were struggling to contain all of the energy being pumped into them, far more than was meant to remain in a body part at any given time. It was even starting to steam up, was... was his arm getting so hot that it was boiling his sweat?
Just to keep the person he knew as Dai from getting too complacent, Steel jumped and delivered a flurry of kicks down towards her head and chest. Light jabs, but something she would have to block...
NO MP gained due to charging his attack! No KP gained due to using a technique this turn!
What the hell was he doing now? First, he was playing around with weak attacks as if nothing happened yet now, as she was trying to retaliate against her, he finally got serious? Kon was surprised when her punch did nothing as the man endured it. It felt like her hand hit steel. Where was all of this earlier? By now, she was growing more frustrated and irritated as this continued seeing how she had the advantage at first but now it felt like it was all going away from underneath her. Where the hell was this before and why was he saving this all till now? Was he just fucking around with her all this time, trying to trick her into thinking he was a weakling? If that was the case, then that was it. Kon wasn't going to have it any longer.
She had her fun playing around with Mister Steel. No, now she was planning on playing it more serious than she had before. There was no way she was planning on having victory snatched right underneath her this easily. This time, there was no more exhausting or overwhelmed strategies she had planned to use earlier. No, this time Kon planned on trying to overwhelm him with pure strength so that way she wouldn't be played like a fiddle once again like she had been earlier.
As Steel closed in with a series of kicks to her head, Kon did her best to parry his blows as best as she could with both of her hands, slowly spreading his legs apart so that she could once again get a better shot at his crotch area. He couldn't block it as well as he did last time now that she had a better shot. Once she saw the opening, she would once again strike at it with a ki infused hand... only to find that her attack had no effect.
Now she was convinced that he was actually screwing around with her and that pissed her off. As anger surged through her mind, power also began to flow through her body without even knowing it. As much as she wanted to scream, taunt, and do anything to just let her anger out, she had to keep it hidden. She had to do anything she could to preserve her identity as Dai.
Kon uses First Strike once again, only to have absolutely nothing happen due to the sustained barrier. As such, Steel still has about 10% up in the barrier. After this she activates x5 Wrathful although she is unable to access its full strength currently although it is still steadily rising. Her current PL is 41,000 (suppressed downward via ki supression)

The Unbreakable Mister Steel could not sense ki. He also did not have a scouter of any shape or form. This meant that he had no idea how much power Dai was gaining from her little tantrum. Well, he didn't even know that she was having a tantrum. He just knew that the masked maniac had flung another green energy ball at his body, and it hadn't done much. He also knew that there was some sort of... aura suddenly appearing around Dai's body. Winds shifting, causing a breeze to blow against his body, and push his hair and pants a bit.
His body was starting to ache all over. The worse ache, however, was in his right arm. Perhaps it was because said arm was swollen, looking to be at least double the mass of his left. That mass was all muscle, pushing away fat and stretching the skin on that limb until veins were bulging up from beneath the surface. Veins that pulsed and throbbed in tune with Steel's heart. They matched the ones coming up from his forehead. His forehead that was beaded with sweat...
It was so much energy that he was pushing, maybe more than he'd used when he fought Beowulf. And all of it, EVERY BIT was going into his arm. It still might not have been enough, though. The aura around Dai was growing more and more visible, larger too! She was probably some sort of alien that had a lot of hidden power and strength...
Steel knew what he had to do.
Steel uses Warrior Focus to boost his power x2! New PL: 50,000. KO punch is still charging, and currently at 90% PL! NO MP gain due to the transformation. I don't think he regains any KP.
