The meeting with Phakk had opened Faustus' eyes on many ways in which he was lacking. During his time with Azoth he had began to slack on some of his work, instead shifting focus onto initiatives which would better help his lord's grand plans. Of course this was not his fault, nor did the Majin view it as a fault of his own, but while he had some free time why not go back to his roots and partake in the joys of science? Today, specifically, he'd be focusing on their otherworldly beings.
Of course they tended to be quite difficult to contact, with his encounter prior being purely out of luck. He did not expect such a fate this time around, which meant he'd have to be a bit more proactive. He scoured his research notes for anything which may aid him in this quest, but of course he came up empty handed; save for one piece. The Shinjin hadn't much written on them from the mortal world, at least none that he could find in the wastelands of Plant, but he did have something.
It was an old incarnation used by a certain ingenious species of Plant. The people, or whatever they were, believed this ritual would pull the Gods themselves down from the otherworld and bind them to the Earth. Once there they could force the Shinjin into prophesying for them, which this species must have believed they had the ability to do. Faustus was not so dumb as to believe in such rumors, but at this point it was really the only lead he had; what choice was there?
Faustus took the ingredients he needed and travelled out to a small, secluded section of a forest not too populated; he didn't need any distractions for this. He set up a large, black cauldron onto a tripod and threw in what he had. Of course the natives of Plant were dealing with different resources to those available on Earth, therefore he'd have to make due with whatever he could find. Certain plants, metals and even meats were thrown haphazardly in and stirred together in a truly revolting concoction.
But he wasn't too concerned with the smell emanating from the pot; after all if the Shinjin were truly bound it wasn't like he had to worry about it leaving. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about that bit though; forcing them from their natural home and leaving them to be stuck on Earth. Perhaps if he chanted and danced with a bit less intensity the effects would be quite as strong? Eh. Earth was a nice place; they'd learn to live with it.
