AGE: 500
GENDER: Female
SPECIES:
Shinjin:
Core Traits:
Mystic Arts- You can heal your allies with your magical abilities. You can generate a heal valued at 75% of your PL for 3 KP, 150% of your PL for 6 KP. This interacts exclusively with your base power level, and heals based on your target's base power level. Once per thread regardless of level used.
Kai Kai- Once per month, you may travel instantaneously from one planet to another with up to 5 others. This also provides a free 50% evasive defense technique, useable once per thread, and it cannot have its power boosted in any way. You can also post freely in the Otherworld boards even if you are not dead.
Optional:
Sour Fruit- Otherworld Training: You may use multiple Offensive techniques in a single post, to a maximum of three. This is usable once per thread, and will only work with Standard Techniques.
GENERAL TRAITS:
Antisense- Your ki is invisible to energy sensing and scouters, even in the midst of combat - this can be toggled on and off. In addition, escape techniques have a boost of +20% to their total effectiveness and your first escape technique per thread costs no KP.
Mimicry- If an opponent has used an Offensive or Defensive technique against you already in the thread, you may use that technique in turn as if it were your own. Does not apply to Sparking or Merging Techniques. May only be used once per thread and does not carry over to future threads.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
The clothes make the Kai- She most often is seen wearing somewhat typical Shinjin attire, a traditional tangzhuang colored charcoal black which has been cut away at the sleeves to form a vest. Accented with crimson button straps along the front and matching thread around the hemlines. sewn into the material is a pattern matching the scales of a dragon that can only be noticed in the right angle of light, and when the correct angle is achieved will cause the seemingly black material to shine in a dull rainbow of colors. Underneath she wears a similarly black colored undershirt that is loose and ruffled at the shoulders but much tighter and form fitting down the arms. Along the back, stitched in a thick gold thread is the symbol ' 剣 ' , meaning Sword. Her pants are gold in color, matching the symbol stitched into the back of her vest. Likewise it is also accented in red at the beltline and down each side to the hem of the legs. Similar again to her top they are looser around the hips and down to the thighs and knees where they begin to become more form fitting till they become tucked into her crimson colored boots, which are accented in gold stitching. She also wears a white colored hat with light blue accents with a strange, unknown symbol stitched in silver on the front. She also wears a set of black colored gloves upon her hands, similarly stitched with a gold accent.
The Swordsmith's hands- Physically she is rather diminutive at a height of 150cm (just under 5 foot tall). As Shinjin are born fully grown it is doubtful that she will exceed this height for the duration of her existence. Her body is, likewise, rather petite. One could mistake her for a male Shinjin by mere looks, especially from a distance. Up close, however, one can easily tell the difference simply by her more feminine facial structure, not to mention the high toned voice and generally more feminine movements. She sports snow white colored hair that reaches down to her lower back, though it is often braided and tucked under the hat that she wears. Since she often tucks it tends to lend more towards being able to mistake her for a male from a distance, making it appear as if se may be bald or at least shaven head. Unlike a lot of Shinjin she has rough, calloused hands, discoloring them to a slight purple color, which she hides with a pair of gloves.
BACKGROUND:
Hops was born fully grown as all Shinjin are who mature and sprout from the World Tree. She spent her early years as all Shinjin do as well, learning from their seniors about their place in the grand scheme of this Universe and from the knowledge collected since before concepts such as time even existed. And again, like all Shinjin she dreamed of perhaps one day being found suitable for apprenticeship by one of those who had managed to reach the highest of titles, the deities who watched over the various bits of creation and whose knowledge of this Universe and its innerworkings were unmatched.
To that end she studied the handmaiden arts. Tea ceremonies, drink tending, cooking, and various other talents that would perhaps one day come to put her ahead of other Shinjin when it came to considerations for apprenticeships. But she neglected to watch the mortal races, to learn of their follies and triumph, to study the nature of mortals and their struggles to evolve and thrive. Thus when the times came for many to begin to learn from older Shinjin she found herself passed up time and time again. It was forbidden to directly influence the lives and events of the mortals, so why then should learning from them matter anyway? It was frustration that began to fester in her until she met a mortal woman, or so she has always claimed that is.
Hops has always claimed that in her 200th year she met a mortal woman who wore a silver armor emblazoned with a symbol she had never before seen mentioned in any of the text available to young Shinjin anyway. She had been hidden away behind a tree, observing the young Shinjin and writing in a book. When confronted she disappeared into a silver light, leaving behind a white hat with blue accents with the heraldry of the armor stitched into it. Faced with doubt and disbelief when she reported the incident, even with the hat as evidence, she decided to come to a better understanding of mortals. If one was able to so easily appear and disappear from the Sacred World of the Kai then they must be hiding something even from the elders.
And so she watched and observed until her study paid off and she was selected to learn from the swordsmith. Though not as well known or glorified as other potential paths, the swordsmiths have created many of the most ancient and storied blades of many of the Otherworlds most fabled deities. Where other Shinjin seek knowledge through the observation of mortals or through study of the combat arts the swordsmiths learn through the study of ancient and powerful materials and how to bend them into new, more powerful forms.
Thus for the last couple hundred years she has learned about how the Universe came to be formed and the materials that were born from its creation, as well as materials that have existed since before the first Shinjin was formed from the World Tree. Having been found sufficient in the basic techniques of the craft she is now journeying to better understand Ki and how it can be used to not only enhance the basics but also form entirely new techniques. So she journeys to learn about the mortals use of Ki to grasp a new understanding of it and them, and perhaps one day be able to become a Kai.
COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES: You start with Three Standard Technique Slots that you can use any way you like. Some species start out with an additional slot. You also start with two additional Utility Technique Slots. These are for unique effects, such as Ki Sense or Magic Materialization, which aren't specifically tied to combat.
Speedy Defense: Light|| AfterimageADDITIONAL NOTES:
Hops is a big follower of non involvement. The she uses this speedy technique typically to cover her own retreat, though it can potentially be used to create an opening for someone to go on the offensive. It creates a false image of her form which disappears if struck.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants:
Evasive- Your technique gains +40% to its power, but if an oncoming attack exceeds its effective power it cannot be dodged with this all-or-nothing variant. Can only dodge one attack.
Sturdy Defense: Heavy || Yakyusuingu
Using her sword Hops swings the blade at whatever the incoming attack is with the hopes of sending it back the way it come. She learned this technique watching the Earthling past time of Baseball.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 5 KP
Variants:
Reflective- Should your Defensive Technique remain unbroken, you fire its remaining PL at an opponent as an Attack Technique with a +20% bonus to its power.
Basic Attack: Light || Basic Sword Strikes
Simple sword swings with more than the minimal effort put into them. Nothing fancy.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants:
Bleeding- Should your technique deal at least 20% damage, the target takes 10% of their own PL in damage for the next 2 posts. Can stack in duration but not in power.
Utility Technique|| Ki Sensing
A technique that allows you to sense, measure, and differentiate the ki signatures of ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Utility Technique || Magic Materialization
Hops uses this technique primarily to generate material used to fashion basic clothing and such. She can also use it to gather material that will require more precise work in order to forge a more powerful item that she doesn't have the knowledge needed to create through magical means. This technique is passive and those not us KP.
Utility Technique || Planetary Telepathy
Allows use of telepathic communication between nearby or familiar characters on the same planet as yourself, letting you and your friends always converse internally. This technique is passive and does not require KP.
Please spend 1500 Zeni for "Ki for dummies" to unlock the third utility slot.
While she uses a sword it isn't anything special. More of a aesthetic choice at this point.
I with to someday be able to design swords or other such items for other characters if at all possible.
Also not yet using a Sparking slot.
