Meet Your Match [Invite]

It's been about a week, maybe a little more since Quila donned the costume and became Captain Sweetheart. Despite her...more than occasional screw-ups, Sweetheart has been doing an okay job. So far, she has been patrolling mostly during the day, but now she was starting to focus a little more on the darker hours, knowing that's when most crooks are up to no good. During a previous night, the droid apprehended some gang members who were assaulting a poor citizen. Thanks to her mechanical body, she was able to take them down effortlessly despite not knowing how to fight well.

Now, Captain Sweetheart was stealthily following some more of said gang members, the Slinking Sharks she believes they're called. The android kept to the sky, staying just high enough for them not to notice while maneuvering around various things to help keep hidden. It was safe to say that she has the whole flying thing down...She just wishes she could say the same about most of her other functions.

"Where are you lot heading....?" the girl muttered quietly to herself before looking forward, seeing what she assumed to be their destination. "The docks?" she questioned once again to herself with an eyebrow raised under her helmet. Why were they heading there of all places? The woman then recalled reports about sightings of this gang being mostly around this area which furthered her curiosity. She then squinted her eyes, using her built-in hud to scan the area. Her eyes then flashed a bit as she picked up two more ki signatures, both seemingly around the same level as these thugs.

Arriving at the destination, Sweetheart gently landed on top of a crate that was currently being held up by a crane nearby. She had a perfect view of the ground, specifically to where those gang members were heading. The droid crouched a bit and watched. The five members were approaching those two folks, the ones she scanned before. They all then brought out their cases which made it click in the droid's mechanical head that this was some sort of deal that was going down...an illegal one no doubt.

With a smirk of confidence, Sweetheart faced her palm down in the direction of the group. "Maybe I should spook them a little by grabbing one of them with my grappling hand." she snickered a little before pursing her lips. "Wait...d-do I have a grappling hand?" she muttered to herself as she started to mess with her hand, and eventually it retracted back, creating an opening similar to a small cannon which caused the girl to grin.

"Alright, grapple hand, do your thing." she whispered but as she thrust her arm forward, a grapple did not come out....but instead a freaking ki blast!

The blast went flying and if it wasn't interrupted, it would collide into one of the cases that one of the Slinking Shark members was holding, causing a small explosion that would at least throw those gang members down onto the ground!

"U-um..." Sweetheart's demeanor of confidence was quickly replaced with a sheepish one, looking almost like a child who had just spilled their juice all over the carpet.

"What the shit!?" One of the gang members would say as they slowly sat up, rubbing the top of their head. He looked down to see that his case was reduced to ashes before looking up at those other two. "The hell was that!?" he questioned those two, assuming they had something to do with that. "S-sorry, so so sorry!" Suddenly, Sweetheart hopped from the crate and landed perfectly in front of the group. "I was trying to grapple you, but it turns out I do not have a...um..grapple..." she then chuckled sheepishly while rubbing the back of her head.

"A-Anyway, I'm Captain Sweetheart, and I'm afraid you are all under arrest!" she claimed, trying to recover her blunder by acting all confident now with her hands on her hips!

"Is this some kinda joke?" one of the crooks said before another jabbed them on the side with their elbow. "Yo, isn't that the chick who bagged some of our guys? another questioned, causing the other guy to grit his teeth before looking back at the male and his Saiyan partner. "Dammit, did you set us up!?"

Things were not looking good for those crooks...but the same could be said about Sweetheart, not knowing the true power of these two mysterious strangers....

Antisense

As the two gangster were walking towards the representatives, Derry's little inquiry about Kon's time with Yangcong was answered in a way that he certainly never expected. She tells the crime boss that he should look over security footage before revealing a massive bruise extending down her left forearm. He glances over and whispers, "What the hell?" Cleary confused as to what Yangcong was up to. "The training room is meant for, well, trainin'. But that's a bit much. I didn't even know the man was even capable of doin' that to ya."

As she states that there's more where that came from, Derry shakes his head, now in disbelief at Yangcong's recent actions. "Well clearly I'm gonna have to have a talk with him. With his recent travels around space and this incident, he might be lookin' at a dock in his pay soon." He absolutely does not think that this would get Derry on Kon's good side, but she could be at least somewhat satisfied that Yangcong is receiving some sort of punishment. With that, Derry turns his attention back towards the Slinking Sharks representatives and drops one of the cases right next to him, asking Kon, "Ya mind watchin' that case for a bit? Don't even have to bother carryin' it, just keep an eye on it."

After asking Kon about putting her on case duty, a single ki blast makes a direct impact with one of the cases the representatives were carrying, and all hell begins to break loose. Derry quickly turns his attention towards where the blast came from and spots some girl in hero attire. Great, yet another hero trying to bust Derry. They never learn do they? Unfortunately, it seems as if the zeni inside the representative's case was burnt to a crisp, and they can no longer afford the tech Derry brought over, which certainly made him agitated.

The woman jumps down from the crate and begins apologizing, stating that she was trying to grapple them, but then realizes that she doesn't have a grapple. "Oh great," Derry pipes up, "another hero who has no idea what they've gotten themselves into." The superhero introduces herself as Captain Sweetheart, a name that Derry was somewhat familiar with, but never knew her personally. The representatives start panicking and even begin to accuse Derry of setting them up, and Derry coldly states, "You think I'd associate myself with a hero? What exactly do I gain from this, some sort of 'Get out of Jail Free' card?" Derry attempts to read Captain Sweetheart's power level using his scouter sunglasses, only to realize that something was keeping it hidden from him. He can't detect her power level, and she mentioned something about grappling without an actual grapple device, so is she an android?

Before Derry could attempt to take care of the problem himself, yet another woman shows up and makes herself known, calling herself Paladion. "Alright, who else is out here?" Derry asks as he looks around to see if there was anyone else coming, "please tell me it's just you two." Once again, Derry takes his scouter sunglasses and attempts to read Paladion's power level, only for yet another error to pop up. Is he dealing with two androids now?

The representatives start drawing their weapons not only at Sweetheart and Paladion, but also at both Derry and Kon, each one focusing on a single target while the fifth aims a second weapon at Sweetheart. Derry raises his hands and moves them up and down in an attempt to calm them down, stating, "Alright, alright, calm yourselves. Look, Kon and I'll take care of 'em, then we can discuss potential rearrangements later since a certain someone burned a case." He looks at Kon from the corner of his eye and asks the young saiyan, "What do ya say, kid? Wanna pick which one, or are ya feelin' confident and take on both?"

"Wh-what? I know exactly what I'm doing, villain!" Captain Sweetheart claimed as she pointed accusingly at the pink-haired man. Clearly...the aspiring hero has no idea what she's doing, but she wasn't going to give these criminals the satisfaction, so she kept a strong front, placing her hands back on her hips as she tried exerting her "heroey" dominance! "Now, I suggest you all surrender quietly! No one needs to get hurt." She then put one foot forward, and started to grin...until she heard someone jogging over.

"Hm?" Turning her head, the heroic droid was taken off guard by a familiar figure. "P-Pal-" The droid then quickly covered her mouth, her eyes widened under her helmet. Right...Paladion doesn't know that Quila is Captain Sweetheart...at least she hopes it doesn't. She needed to keep her secret identity safe, even around people she trusts. "U-Uh, I mean....Halt, citizen!" Captain Sweetheart placed a palm up, facing the other droid. "I highly recommend getting to safety!" But it was too late for that...

Guns were drawn by the five Slinking Sharks and Sweetheart immediately raised her hands up in response. "W-wait, this is the opposite of surrendering!" Seems that once again, Sweetheart forgot that she has literal metallic skin....

"Eh? You's two don't even have any guns!" The gang member Derry was talking to claimed, but how unafraid he and that little tailed girl looked was enough to make the gang member back off. "Tch, fine. Lower ya weapons, boys!" the man said, causing the other members to lower their guns.

The moment those gangsters lowered their weapons, Sweetheart, let out a sigh of relief before lowering her hands....totally not catching the part about how those two were going to "take care of 'em". "Good! Now, if you can all line up in an orderly fashion, I will escort you to the nearest precinc-" Then with little warning, the tailed girl was charging at her! A small yelp escaped the aspiring hero's lips, but as this happened, the built-in hud in the hero's eyes activated, making a flashing outline around the incoming girl as some random data flashed through on the side, but it was all happening too fast for Sweetheart to read....just as fast as the shoulder check that came her way!

"Ngh!" Sweetheart winced and gritted her teeth a bit as she slid back a little with her eyes closed. But as soon as the hero opened her eyes, that outline that her hud had around the girl shifted, forming only around her opponent's shoulders. "Wha-" Then almost as if it were second nature, Sweetheart attempted to latch her hands onto the girl's shoulders and if that happened, another outline would form on the hud, this time around one of Sweetheart's own knees. Still not knowing what was going on, Sweetheart grit her teeth once more and attempted to ram her knee into the girl's stomach!

If those were successful, Sweetheart would just stand there looking a little lost at what just happened. "D-Did I do that?" she asked, mostly to herself before blinking a few times under her helmet.

As Kon quickly covered up her little wound once again after Derry talked about punishing Yangcong, he wonders if he said something wrong or if he's missing some context. She did say that there was more than that where it came from and to also look at that footage, so perhaps there was more to this story than he originally thought. Having one of his own Snakes act so viscously against another one is just... terrible. He can excuse Kon since she's still new and rather angry about this whole ordeal, but this was inexcusable for Yangcong. "Was it really that bad?" Derry asks Kon as he takes another glance at her. "I really should look at that cam footage then, eh?"

The girl that blew up one of the money cases claims that she knows what she's doing, but judging from what she's been doing so far, Derry isn't exactly convinced. She asks everyone to surrender once again before Derry pipes up and asks, "Alright, and how do you suppose you'll take us down. I doubt you could even handle the teenager right here," as he points at Kon. "Trust me girl, you're gonna get yourself hurt if you try to stop us, so how about you surrender and you might just not be beaten by the little one here." It was also fairly obvious that this Paladion and Captain Sweetheart know each other, at least enough for the captain to know the other's name. Perhaps Kon could use that to her advantage. Either than or she just beats the superhero up. Either way works.

As Captain Sweetheart was trying to get the Sharks to lower their weapons and surrender before Kon comes charging in and shoulder bashed her right in the chest, sending her back a few feet. The superhero, however, attempts to grab onto Kon almost immediately afterwards and throw in a knee to her stomach as well. It was clear that this Captain Sweetheart can hold herself in a fight, but something was definitely off about her body language. At times she seems like a bit of a clutz while at other points she's as stiff as a rock, which catches his interest.

As the two were fighting Paladion surprisingly walks up to Derry and asks him how to get back onto the main street, and he looks at the woman with a raised eyebrow. "Well," Derry answers, "if you go straight down that line of crates, you should see the entrance to your right and you'll be home free. Isn't that your friend over there or somethin'? Shouldn't you be, I don't know, trading blows with the saiyan?"

Sweetheart's fists loosened just a bit at the pink-haired man's words. This of course wasn't her first time dealing with a criminal...but it was her first time dealing with one that did not seem remotely fazed by her. It didn't make sense to the aspiring hero, especially with how low his power is. The same went with the tailed girl who also appeared to not care much about this. But as quickly as her doubts appeared, they vanished evident by the clenching of her fists. "You must not be aware of this villain, but I am strong!" She then pointed a little too dramatically at the guy before continuing. "I will not be dissuaded by your words. Justice will always triumph!" she claimed...her cape mysteriously flapping all heroic-like.

With that, the fight has begun between the heroic Sweetheart and the villainous monkey girl! The evildoer was able to get some hits in, but Captain Sweetheart was able to deliver her own share of strikes...much to her own surprise.

"How did I-" Sweetheart was still a little too distracted by her previous actions, looking down at her gloved palms instead of her opponent. Unfortunately, Sweetheart was not expecting that headbutt which even through her helmet and metallic skull, the droid was able to feel the pain...or at least the illusion of it. "Agh!" Her built-in hud was scrambled a bit from that strike. She wasn't able to see anything but blurs and static for a second which was just enough time for the Saiyan to get those ki blasts in, blowing Sweetheart back! Her feet skid against the ground a bit before coming to a stop, the droid managing to keep on her feet.

"Ngh...woah..." Sweetheart rubbed the side of her head before looking back at the teen. Her hud readjusted and as it did, Sweetheart scanned the teen once more. "F-Five thousand?" just like her own power. Of course, Sweetheart should've figured that her foe was hiding their power, which could mean that the other guy was doing the same.

Speaking of, Sweetheart glanced over, and her eyes widened as she saw Paladion approaching that guy! "W-wait! Get away from him!" Sweetheart held her palm out in the direction of the other android, but the moment she did that, her glove slid off, and her hand started to retract once more....a rotary gun now taking its place. "What the...Waaahhh!!!" The rotary gun then started to fire ki-crafted bullets, catching the droid off guard so much that she ended up falling over from the recoil, her cape now covering her face!

"Woah shit, get down!" one of those gang members said to his comrades as stray bullets went all over the place. Some of the bullets were mostly firing upward now, and some of them shot at the hanging crate that Sweetheart was previously standing on. The bullets destroyed the rope hanging the crate up causing it to fall...heading straight for the Saiyand and hero!

Tech Used:

Again, more and more words were pouring out of Captain Sweetheart as she tries so hard to prove that she's a capable superhero, yet she still has yet to learn that she's out of her league on this one. Kon still manages to keep Sweetheart on her toes, and she isn't even using her full power yet. There is one thing, however, that has been bugging the crime boss for quite some time now. Considering her previous reference to a grapple, and Kon's reaction to slamming her shoulder into the hero's chest, something wasn't quite right about this Captain Sweetheart. It almost looked as if she was ramming her shoulder into a locker or something like that. Could this woman be an android?

Sweetheart manages to fight back against the young Dirty Snake and even manages to kick the air out of Kon. Derry rubs his chin as he looks on, wondering just what exactly was the deal with this girl. The possibility that she's some sort of superhero android grows more and more by the second, though this still shouldn't be something Kon can't handle. Kon lands a headbutt against the captain, and yet again there was that same reaction of someone when they slam into metal. Before he could comment on what he's seeing, Sweetheart warns Paladion not to get close to Derry before her gloves slides off and reveals a gatling gun underneath. The Sharks were smart enough to dodge out of the way, but Derry himself wasn't quite afraid of taking any bullets to the face, though he must rise up to his natural power level to do so. 

Derry's power level spikes up to twenty thousand as the bullets bounce off of the man's skin and fall to the ground as Sweetheart falls to the ground and continues firing off her gun. "Oh yeah, you're really showin' your strength right now," Derry mocks as Paladion comments on the fact that she doesn't know the girl. "Ya sure? She seems pretty scared about you bein' near me. Do you know anybody with galing guns for hands?" Paladion also comments on Sweetheart's gatling gun and claims that she's an android similar to herself and now wishes to watch on and see what happens next. "Sure, go right ahead, I ain't in no rush," Derry responds as he too looks at the 'spectacle' from afar.

At this point, a stray bullet from Sweetheart's gun cuts a box free from a crane, and the box is sent hurtling towards the ground, right above both Kon and Sweetheart. Seeing this as an immediate threat to Kon's safety, Derry raises a single index finger up and fires a series of pink fireballs and destroys it, sending pieces of flaming pink pieces of wood across the harbor and scattered into the nearby water as well. "I knew I was gonna have to call sanitation anyway," Derry comments as he turns his attention back on Paladion, "but this is really startin' to get outta hand. You alright kid?" Derry shifts his focus back on Kon and continues analyzing her fighting style, now with an android watching next to him on a crate.
