When Azoth left Arcose to explore the universe a little before he would be crown emperor, he had very little ideas as to where he would go. There was a handful of planets, but knowing that some of them were at war, it only made sense to go to one that was fairly calm. His choice ended up being Earth because of the peculiar rumors about strong people and a strange but effective way their society worked, something he could take inspiration from when the time came to rule the galactic empire he envisionned.
The Freezing Horizon finally arrived in Earth's orbit while Azoth was sleeping, his alarm chiming a delicate song, pulling him out of bed. He knew what that meant, and got excited pretty fast. He rushed outside of his room and toward the bridge of the ship to observe this new planet.
The view did not dissapoint, as the blue and green planet looked filled with life, extremely different compared to Arcose, he was glad he would get to explore this one a bit, who knows, perhaps he'd meet people that could help him, directly or not, in his mission. But most importantly, he felt like this was a crucial time to make a first impression on the people of Earth, he did want this planet as part of his empire eventually, so he would have to learn how their culture work and proper etiquette to adress them, and a good first impression certainly wouldn't hurt.
After realising this planet did not have an official spaceport, Azoth decided to land in the familiar region, the north, with ice and snow covering the place. He would at least feel a little familiar until he explored the rest of it, so it seemed like a good idea, aside from the fact that it was vast and empty enough not to disturb too much.
The landing happened without too much issue, the gigantic imperial cruiser landing atop a massive iceberg. It felt stable enough, so the Freezing Horizon could just rest there for the time of their journey on Earth.
The Arcosian got out of the ship and stretched a little, taking a deep breath of this new planet's air. He could tell it was different, the air here was much more... full of life. It was warmer too, even in its coldest place, Azoth wondered how it would be when he'd go further south.
Of course, having done no effort at all to hide his arrival, a massive ship landing on Earth was bound to attract some attention, and Azoth was fully aware of that, and counted on it. What better ways to get a headstart on learning about this planet than having the people who are usually in charge of meeting strangers first introduce basic knowledge to you !
