Myths and Legends [Invite]

The mortals of this planet, Earth she believed it was called, were nothing very impressive. What they lacked in power though they made up for with innovative minds and remarkable adaptability to the various climates of the planet. Earth was fairly unique in that regard. Where many planets, including the Sacred World of the Kai, consisted of a single world spanning environment, Earth held many different kind that somewhat seamlessly blended into one another. Due to this she guessed that it was a fairly young one as signs of desertification were showing fairly clearly in many of the lesser populated areas. Perhaps in as few as a couple thousand years it would render the planet dry and barren. A practical sandland as it were. 

While musing on the make up and nature of the planet upon which she stood, hand scooping a clump of dirt from the ground and rubbing the rough texture of the glove together as it fell in thick clumps back to the ground she had her thoughts interrupted by the sound of a frustrated groan coming northward towards the shore, loud enough to be heard over the lightly lapping waves. It was then that she spotted a local mortal, humans she believed they called themselves. Fellow bipeds who seem to have evolved into being sometime over the last million years or so. She wasn't to familiar with the planet or the history of its mortals.

As the human gave another sigh of frustration she slipped the book back into the pack she was carrying. Walking a ways it eventually picks a stick up from the ground, swinging it around as if it were a weapon of some description. This brought a chuckle to the Shinjin as she watched the sloppy swings, the uneven footwork. She was no master swordsman herself but it was an entertaining sight to see nonetheless. As the human continued, however, some level of technical skill could be observed. Perhaps with some proper instruction the human may be able to appreciate the sword arts. After all, these humans were a sentient species. The only real problem was that from there was barely any Ki radiating off this particular one. It wasn't even worth mentioning. Without a sufficient Ki they would never be able to truly master the sword arts. But perhaps they could at least learn the basic philosophies. 

Though direct intervention was prohibited, and she was hardly qualified to be taking students (at least by Shinjin standards) she decided to approach the human. Slapping her hands together, an act known as applause to the mortals, she stepped closer drawing attention to herself. 

"I applaud your passion but must say as a swordsman and smith I am appalled by your lack of skill, human!" She began, her tone perhaps a bit more arrogant than she intended. This was her first time directly speaking to a member of a mortal race and the lack of practice was evident. "Perhaps you'd allow me to at least offer you my assistance? I simply must insist as one who appreciates the ancient arts."

Noting a hint of dissatisfaction at her off the cuff choice in nicknames the Shinjin bows its head to the girl as she brings an arm in front of her, moving it just under her chest. "My apologies Krim. The nuances of mortal communication can be a bit difficult for one such as myself. I do hope you'll forgive any rudeness on my part. I assure you it is entirely unintended." Bring her head back up she smiles to the girl as she brings the arm back around, crossing it at the midsection of her back once again. With that she begins to walk forward, the girl at her back as she thought over what she had just said. The Earth must be a rather peaceful place if once can practice one of the cardinal arts of war as a mere hobby. She was beginning to see why the observation of such species was not only an important task, but a fascinating one at that. 

"My mistake then Krim." She said after a moment, turning back towards the girl after walking some 10 feet during her pondering. "When I saw you with your stick I assumed you were...serious about the sword arts." Her wording on serious was a bit hesitant, as if she were unsure of exactly how to describe what she had thought at the time, or perhaps she was worried she may further offend. Looking towards the sky she continued. "In this universe very few have the luxury of the sort of peace that the Earth seems to enjoy. I'm glad that this is a world where you can practice your art for your own enjoyment rather than your survival." With that she bows once again from the waist. "I'll be wandering around for a short time at least. Perhaps if you wouldn't mind I can offer you a cup of tea sometime as an apology of sorts. You are the first mortal I have ever spoken to so you'll have to forgive me." With that she walked over to a nearby tree, placing her left hand upon the trunk as she studied it. It was up to the mortal girl now whether to accept the invitation or not. It would not be polite, at least in Shinjin standards, to force anymore upon her. 

Her mind raced with how her meeting with the first mortal went down. Perhaps she had been wrong to not only assume she was serious about swordsmanship but to also try to train her. She hadn't ask for it after all. It had just been exciting to see one exhibit some level of competence that perhaps she had overstepped her bounds. She would need to make a note of this later. Perhaps learn to keep her excitement in check next time. For now though her ears listened carefully to see if the mortal girl would take her up on her offer of tea or not. She did hope that she'd be allowed to make up for this faux pas.

Well this was certainly unexpected. As the Shinjin turned to the girl as she felt an unusual Ki begin to rise forth she moved the walking stick in front of her, the narrow tip sinking into the ground slightly as she held both hands atop the knob. Was this something that was usual for Earthlings, or for whatever the other race she had mentioned? Transformations certainly weren't an uncommon thing in the universe, but given that the girls face was blank, eyes dull and dead, something didn't seem quite right about the situation.

"Now that is a growl!" She exclaims somewhat cheerfully, still unsure exactly what was going on. Perhaps the girl had decided to show what she was actually capable of? Her Ki was so low before that it was hard to get an accurate feel of it. This was a situation that would require some tact in order to avoid a confrontation. The girls power level was now double her own easily. To think that a Earthling...or rather a half Earthling could possess such a power level. Then again maybe it was more common for them than she thought. 

 Responding to the woman's question she smiles, bowing her head ever so slightly. "Of coarse. My manners seem to have left me today. My name is Hops. I am a swordsmith by training and a sword enthusiast by trade." The first question had been rather mundane and normal but the second caused her left eyebrow to raise slightly. As the girl picks up the stick again, using it to form a blade of Ki energy. "I exist because I do. There is no divine secret in that..." Her hands glow green for a moment around the knobbed head of the walking stick as she prepares for what may come. Something felt very off about all this. It wouldn't be wise at the moment to assume she was dealing with the same girl who had just barely managed to swing a stick just a moment before. 

The girl who had seemed so slow before moved with much increased speed towards the Shinjin, her blade filled with a killing intent that had not been present before. As the Shinjin stood with a smile the blade smashes through her head and into the tree with enough force to shatter the once study trunk. As the trunk exploded millions of splinters of various sizes sprayed outward as the large chunks that remained fell in the direction of the point of impact. All the while the Shinjin's form remained with the Ki covered stick smashed through its face, ever smiling as the splinters of wood sprayed through.

From a large falling chunk of the tree quickly falling downward above the Shinjin presses off, knees bending slightly as the walking stick she had carried morphs into a fine blade that appeared to be made of some sort of metal. As the wood of the walking stick morphed into the metal of blade she springs downward using the large chunk of the shattered trunk to propel herself downward towards the half Earthling. From the left she swung the morphing blade outward towards the half Earthling as the falling bits of trunk fell quickly behind her as she slashes forward, her position at high angle above the half Earthing as her momentum carries her for what would surely be a vicious strike attempt.
