He enjoyed seeing such eager fellows grouped here together. If they were to sow discord and destruction across the universe, it would have to be through a common alliance. These days, there was simply no market for the lonesome type of evils. At least not for ones seeking results. The newest addition, a guest of importance, clarified that his goal was to take revenge against those who had wronged him. They were numerous, but Vale liked that kind of appetite Marimba displayed. Certainly, he would do his utmost to help him achieve victory. As for the leader-to-be, his goals were certainly as ambitious, perhaps even more. The shinjin pondered as to what kind of empire Maxsuz could bring about.
News of recent events eluded the aspect of death, but from what he had gathered, most of their comrades had survived their assault on Arcose, leaving Yangcong as the only victim. It was a shame, but also an opportunity for the Tuffle to become something else, far greater than what he previously was, a true ace for the Orchestra.
“My, I do like seeing such enthusiastic and ambitious fellows. As for me, my objectives are far less involved. Let’s just say that by helping you achieve your goals, mine will also be fulfilled. I look forward to your success.”
Maxsuz then shifted the subject by issuing codenames to the newer arrivals, Vale included. Theremin shall now be his alias. He liked the sound of it, but not so much the actual musical instrument, though. He wouldn’t complain about it, though. It was, after all, a decision of the Maestro.
Though he was ordered to attack, Vale stepped away, standing next to Drum, preferring to watch rather than actually participate.
“Oh no, my value does not reside in physical might. I gap the bridge from here to the otherworld, I bring knowledge, advice, and support. My network of collaborators is yours to use, but you will not see me fighting.”
Disobeying the first order, Vale stood there, waiting for a response. Perhaps this could be used as a test to see how the Maestro would react as well. While the others displayed their powers, Vale took the time to strike up a conversation with the Namekian known as Drum.
“Forgive my rudeness, but I’ve been wondering. How did a namekian only in name manage to secure the role of spiritual leader over pure-blooded namekians? I find the concept intriguing, a little counter-intuitive, too. Was it because the one known as Nero is truly special? Or…because no one else was worth it?”
He switched his focus back to the group attacking Maxsuz, waiting to see if they managed to deal significant damage to him.
