Rise of the Orchestra

The man whom had sparred with him on Plant had told him to wait for his call, for he might have a place for Rhuba. Rhuba took that as a compliment from someone as strong as the man who could easily defend against Rhuba fully transformed without even transforming themselves! Surprisingly the man had came to Earth the same as Rhuba, a lucky coincidence for him since he was not finished with what he was doing on this planet. Rhuba had actually stumbled his way into success and the way Earth was set up was perfect for him.

Rhuba was wearing a beanie that had 'Dir-T Excavators' embroidered on the front, the name of his company that primarily worked in excavations of mines and private land. It was lucrative as well, Rhuba would also work as a surveyor finding the best locations to excavate, or plant crops. Rhuba had established this company here on Earth, gathering enough rare minerals on his dirt hunts allowed him to gain some favor with those in high positions in Central City. Rhuba had studied dirt more intimately than most and searched for good dirt for so long he could find high quality dirt by tasting it, and he was better than most of the best agriculture savvy people in finding fertile land. The fact that he was also already working as a bodyguard on occasion for some of the corporate elite as well allowed him to climb the social ladder in the city very quickly. Although he owned the company, he didn't actually run it, he had hired others more qualified to do so. He also owned property and an estate in Central City, though he hated living in the city, preferring the outdoors over a standard home.

The city life was nothing like Plant, and Rhuba didn't want any part of it. "Luckily I checked my ship, else I would have never got these coordinates..." Rhuba had flew all the way to what the locals had deemed 'The Cave of Darkness' or at least close by to it. As he finally touched down nearby, he looked around for a strong ki signatures he had detected on his approach, only to see Yangcong approaching the person he was here for. Rhuba did remember Maxsuz mentioning working with Yangcong, so it wasn't unusual. Rhuba felt this was perfect as he wanted to talk to Yangcong about new stuff he had heard and seen, especially about his status as a war criminal and terrorist. He personally found the whole thing interesting, wanting more details.

As he began to float above the landscape to make the few hundred feet he was to Maxsuz and Yangcong, the one whom he thouguht was Yangcong turned into another creature altogether, one being whom he hadn't seen before. Rhuba had felt it strange that the man didn't feel like Yangcong when he sensed him, meaning he didn't feel anything at all. The man was hiding his energy, and that usually meant they were either much stronger than Rhuba, or much weaker. The fact that he seemed to be casually and jovially talking to Maxsuz made him assume it was the former rather than the latter.

As Rhuba finally approached, his tail wrapped around his waist to stay out of the cold. Though for some reason, as he got closer to the cave, it became much warmer. Rhuba could now take a more detailed look at the situation now that he was closer, and could feel that Maxsuz's words toward the former imposter meant that he wasn't particularly invited and could be a potential threat. Being unable to sense the strength difference between himself and the imposter was annoying, but if there was a problem he assumed Maxsuz could handle it himself, though it was also possible the imposter might not be trouble at all.

Watching the exchange from a distance, Rhuba would watch Maxsuz intently to see his reactions to the imposter. He didn't want to interact with them in the wrong way, as much as he wanted to start some shenanigans he held back, waiting for his presence to be noticed and acknowledged.

The where had been established at this point, clearly he was in the right place. The others didn't seem to be invited specifically like Rhuba had, given that Maxsuz didn't seem to know any of them, at least that's how Rhuba saw the scene in front of him. As everyone turned their attention to Rhuba, he tried to adopt an air of nonchalance. Vale pointed out that he should come closer, Rhuba only stared at the Shinjin, unaware of what he even was, nor his association with Maxsuz. Rhuba had been fighting the urge to draw all these characters, as he still didn't know if any of them might be threats, and the abilities of the three of them were something Rhuba was cautious around.

If Rhuba didn't know that Maxsuz could easily end his life and most of those around him right now, he'd be acting like Vale, albeit a bit more childish in nature. Vale would be ignored by Rhuba, only for Maxsuz to finally tell him to come forward. Rhuba's old master and servant personality in full display as he lifted off the ground and floated nearer to Maxsuz, turning to face the others again. Maxsuz had remembered Rhuba's name, and it had made him happy knowing someone so powerful actually remembered him.

The strange person who had faked being Yangcong had said something about kili, which confused him greatly. The words about the stare were true, something about Caraway just didn't sit right with Rhuba. Those that hide their power generally have a motive for doing such things, and usually being around for those motives entailed bad luck. The fact that everyone but Maxsuz had referred to Rhuba as an object or a vague side character irked him greatly. While Vale didn't seem too strong himself, he had begun to realize the futility of basing an entire fight on their power level alone.

"Did I hear Yangcong is dead?" He asked, referencing the dialogue between Maxsuz and the two before him. "Who killed him? Why?" Rhuba was out of the loop, he had heard of a grand scale attack on Arcose, but the details were fuzzy and mainly it was gossip that he had heard. The knowledge of the attack on Namek and the Princess' fight with him was something he knew nothing about. Rather than bringing up Arcose, he left it at asking about Yangcong. His question was posed to anyone who could answer it, and even though he had only met Yangcong once, he was the nicest person aside from Zuq that he had met on Plant. Strangely Yangcong's death was a little saddening to Rhuba, especially since he had learned how strong Yangcong was.

The atmosphere had become dense, too many people were meeting in this one area for Rhuba to keep track of. Did they really all get invites too, just like he did? Impressive it was that so many strong individuals had gathered in one area, but for Rhuba it just meant it was more people he could observe and adapt into his strength. He had already started doing that with magic, gaining more knowledge over time on it, tracking down magical artifacts was his new past time.

As everyone took turns talking, he had his questions answered. Yangcong had been slain, confirmed by multiple people here. The why and how were vague, but he understood that implication. "That's unfortunate," he grumbled to himself, feeling a sense of anger mixed with disappointment. Rhuba had met the man once, and only briefly, though he did feed Rhuba, causing the interaction with Yangcong to rub off on him during his escapades on Plant, arguably helping him in many ways. Though when someone asked about everyone's plans, when it came down to what Rhuba's plans were, he wouldn't reveal those. The people around him could easily go against what he wanted, and he'd rather keep it close to his chest. Eradication of slavery might go against the plans of someone else here, and he'd rather keep those plans close to his chest. Who knows what some of the others here might want, and it wasn't like him to go off making grandiose claims.

"I am here to get stronger," he responded to the earlier question during one of the pauses between others answering.

The big green man who entered gave a rousing speech, which sounded like a dramatic scene from one of Rhuba's novels he'd read. The timing of him entered made it seem like he was able to read Rhuba's mind and was showing him up. The speech itself was amazing, at least to Rhuba, he loved the dramatic flair these guys exuded. The person who reacted the most to Marimba's speech was Maxsuz, causing Rhuba to feel a tad bit more comradery with them, feeling as if they shared a love for dramatic flair. The group of misfits that had gathered also came right out of one of those novels he loved so much. Excitement overtook Rhuba's tail as it began to sway back and forth behind him, though he remained stoically standing as if his tail acting this way was a very normal circumstance.

Maxsuz then declared they would all get new names, and named Rhuba first! His tail picked up a bit more, only to stop suddenly as Maxsuz requested them all attack him, wanting to test his. This was unusual, as Rhuba could tell that if Maxsuz just doubled his current strength, he'd easily deflect any attack from any of them. Perhaps the invisible man who was hiding his power had a trick up his sleeve, which he felt was possible albeit unlikely. Rhuba had gathered all this information as they all talked, fantasizing in his head situations that would entail a fight breaking out and if he could survive this situation if that were the case.

As Maxsuz ended his statement, Rhuba had activated Lightspeed to circle around to behind Maxsuz from where he had been standing, leaving an after-image in his wake for a moment. Rhuba had assumed this wasn't really a test, but more of Maxsuz wanting to show off. Instead of disgusting Rhuba, he completely understood the sentiment, Maxsuz was a performer and liked putting his skills out on display, how could one not admire that? Rhuba was the same, so if Maxsuz wanted the spotlight, well he didn't mind making others look good, as he at least would get to witness it himself. All of this part of Rhuba's intricate thought process, true or not, it's what he felt and that reasoning was how he ended up charging one of his strongest attacks.

Though Rhuba was naive, silly, and a bit unaware of certain things... When it came to strategies in techniques and fighting, he was on a different level. Rhuba had been fantasizing fighting everyone in this room. Trying to see what would happen if the person who arrived or spoke had randomly attacked him, if he could easily fend them off or not based on power alone. The real kicker was that he was also trying to gauge what kind of techniques or abilities they might have. That was harder to see at a glance than just sensing their ki, and after meeting people like Zuq who had powerful magic, he knew that techniques meant more than pure power alone. Thinking about power, that brought his gaze back at Maxsuz, he then amended his thought. Techniques meant more than power, but overwhelming strength might beat all.

Energy sparked out of Rhuba's hand as he raised it toward Maxsuz. He was a few meters behind Maxsuz after using Lightspeed, the after-image at this point starting to fade. "Thunderclap," he spoke softly, a smile spread across his lips as his muscles expanded and his hair spiked even more than it already was, and an aura encapsulated him. Transforming quickly this time, rather than when he last sparred Maxsuz he had to force out the power. Taking most of the energy from his transformation and shoving it into his hand, he was able to avoid using two arms to fire off this blast due to his transformation. The walls of the nearby cave and the ground shook with reverberations from Rhuba's finger snap, a large beam emitted from Rhuba's hand which shot toward Maxsuz. The force of the blast blew dust and small debris away from around Rhuba, the blast itself was roughly the same size as Maxsuz's torso, aimed center mass.
