“A palace with no throne? Hmpf…Thankfully, I am here to correct the situation.”
His presence here on Plant wasn’t just anecdotal, it served a purpose. Firstly, to try to keep an eye on the Lottus situation. While he wouldn’t necessarily interfere, he wanted to stay a little ahead of the game should the man change ideas. While he had his attendant, Bêl, taking care of the formalities, her talents could better be used elsewhere if the Saiyan had a sudden change of heart. Secondly, he wanted to congratulate the queen of Saiyans herself for her victory on Namek! Vale had certainly watched the events unfold with great amusement. Though something could be said about the lack of development and the otherwise predictable outcome of this whole affair, he had genuine fun watching both death and love blossom on the battlefield. To properly congratulate the queen, Vale of course brought a gift.
He warped inside the palace, thanks to his Kai Kai ability, teleporting around until he ended up at where he assumed would be the throne room…devoid of a proper throne. While unusual, Vale chalked it up to some kind of new trend the young rulers were into. Something like “pretend you’re one of the people” or another silly excuse like that. Thankfully, the Shinjin knew better and thought ahead, bringing a gift that would surely make everyone green with envy.
The royal guards caught up eventually by tracking his power level (he wasn’t trying to hide it, but warping around the place was surely disorienting for them). After commanding him to surrender, Vale lifted both hands up in the air.
“Hold on, my good persons, you have the wrong idea! I am merely coming here to congratulate the Queen on her last campaign on Namek. She fought valiantly, in more ways than one.”
If there was a camera in the place, he’d wink at it. A little inside joke between him and whatever audience would be watching him. Instead, he proceeded with delivering the gift. Clapping both hands above his head, a throne appeared in the room.
“There! A seat fit for a true queen.”
To all witnesses, the scene was grotesque, and even the most battle-hardened of soldiers had trouble fully realizing what was going on. Indeed, there was a throne. A living throne made from grafted, still living Namekians. A mass of flesh shaped like that of a royal seat, mouths agape with guttural sounds emanating from them. For ethical reasons, the former Mazoku namekians who formed that seat were no longer conscious, but still very well alive. It was, for all intent and purposes, a soulless abomination.
“Have no worries, they were locally sourced and are truly the same ones who joined the Mazoku Hoken. No innocent civilians have been harmed in the process of this work of art. It is meant to represent the crushing might of the Saiyan people over those who threaten their peace. I have named it “The Wailing Throne”...Hmm…you don’t look too enthusiastic about this…I thought it would be a good gift for the Queen and her consort.”
Vale shrugged. What was he expecting? Saiyans having opinions about art? Hah! Oh well, as they said, it’s the intention that counts.
