NOTE: Himnabrjótur's ANTISENSE is active!
Trips into the city were something Tunic actively tried to avoid when at all possible. Rarely did it bode well for herself, or others when her presence was specifically requested for one event or another. When the letter arrived for this particular event, Johnathan and Merri made it more than clear that they intended to get Tunic there one way or another. And the young girl knew better than to get between the two of them and a goal if they truly intended to accomplish it.
Finding herself in the back seat of the family sedan, Tunic's eyes would gloss over the overly treated decorum of the event hall as they drew into the parking line. The gala presently ongoing was one for an organization the girl had not heard of to this point, and to that point neither had any in the estate. Some 'Sea Moon Enterprises' and their interests in interstellar travel or something? The girl was having a hard time remembering the exact wording of the letter she had received and rather focused on getting into that ever so tedious headspace of the kind of people she was about to bump shoulders with on this evening, much to her chagrin.
The hall itself was quite well adorned, tapestry of Sapphire Blue and Amaranthine hues against the pale marble of the building's interior. It created a spacious illusion that helped the space feel as if it stretched well beyond its physical limitations. Various tabled of light snack foods created a semi-circle perimeter behind the rows of seats set as audience to the stage of focus. A banner with the organization's name hung over the stage, with a bold gold text presenting both title and mission. 'A new face in the sea of space.', it read. Perhaps they hoped to bank on the rhyme scheme, at least from those who threw their money at every small start up they felt might make them a tiny dividend.
Hidden beneath the hood of her ever so iconic rabbit hoodie, Tunic's lips curled into a frown as she looked to Johnathan and the elderly butler nodded to her. "We should perhaps take a seat, yes?", he would ask in a way suggesting rather than wanting to know. The girl would consider a moment and shake her head, taking a moment to collect a small hoard of snacks before making her way to the assorted seating. Picking a seat at the boundary, Tunic was planning an early escape well before it was needed should this whole affair turn into something less than worth her time.
As more and more of the social elite took their seats among the chairs or chose a place to observe from the sidelines, the lights in the hall would dim as those of the stage took prominence. Stepping out from the shadows after a moment, two men took to the stage. One an elderly looking man with a stout physique and a studious look to him, and the other a younger simulacrum of the same man. The nearly clone-like appearance gave Tunic pause for thought as she observed the two.
"Greetings and welcome all! I am Corall Jenns, founder and former CEO of Sea Moon Enterprises.", the older man spoke before giving the crowd a small nod. As he stepped back the younger man stepped forwards, his disposition much more savvy than that of the older one. "And I, Soots Jenns, am the current CEO of Sea Moon. My father and I welcome you all to this banquet presentation and hope you all enjoy the offerings." The man would motion vaguely towards the tables and decorum of the hall as he spoke. "This evening we hope to elucidate you all as to what we hope to achieve with Sea Moon going forwards." The man's words would trail off and lose purpose as Tunic's attention shifted from them to the snacks in her lap.
