Riding down the streets of Central City in his limousine, Gelus was using his scouter to look through the files of some of the students that attended there. After getting his operation off the ground, now was the time to look for those who could protect what he had built. He was wealthy and a genius when it came to business and diplomacy (or so he believed), but combat was something that alluded him. It wasn't until recently, when he was forced to build his own company from the ground up with very little assistance from his father, that he began to realize how important it was to be able to protect what he had built. At the moment, he lacked the power to do so himself. He would never openly admit this, but the Arcosian knew deep down that when it came to all of the powers in the galaxy, he was weaker than pretty much everyone. He would attempt to tell himself that strength didn't matter when you could hire strong people to fight for you, but it was only a matter of time until he had to put his own ability to the test. Until then, however, he would have to settle with buying strength from others. That was where Orange Star came into the picture. Students were always a useful bunch. Many were crushed by debt, desperate to find some way to pay for their schooling. And with Orange Star beginning to cater to students who could use ki, Gelus figured that this would be a spectacular place to find young talent in need of someone to pay for their tuition. The businessman would be more than happy to provide, so long as these students proved themselves capable.
Perhaps he would encounter other strong individuals outside of the student body while he was there. The Arcosian's snow white limo pulled up to the front of the school, Gelus's aging driver hurrying out to open his boss's door for him. The Arcosian stepped out, taking a look around the front of the school. Its size was impressive. It must have cost a lot of money to build this place up to this point. There was a woman waiting for him out front. She was wearing a tan suit and pants, with thick, round, black frame glasses on her face. She was carrying a clipboard, presumably with their itinerary for the day. They would be touring the school for awhile, then going out to the athletic yard to meet the students. He hadn't given the school much notice about his visit, but a sizable donation of Zeni being sent their way quieted any potential complaints. The woman in the tan suit approached Gelus, holding out a hand to the Arcosian.
"Mr. Gelus, it's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard so much about you from your assistant." Gelus put on his best smile before reaching out and taking her hand, shaking it firmly.
"Ms. Bard, I presume? Charmed. I am quite... eager to get started." The Arcosian put his hands behind his back, standing up straight to make himself appear slightly taller. He was quite short in this form, and this was something that he had become quite insecure about recently. He could simply walk around in his second or third forms, but their monstrous appearance did not serve to set others at ease. It would make his job much harder. For an hour or so, they toured the school grounds. Ms. Bard was eager to show Gelus all of their various classes and facilities, but all the Arcosian wished to do was get right to the point and meet the students, and he tried to hurry the process along as much as possible. Such niceties were a necessity, however. It was important to ingratiate himself to Ms. Bard before he began scouting out the talent he required. Finally, after what must have been his fiftieth "oh my, how lovely", Ms. Bard gave him the news he had been waiting to hear.
"I've just received word that the students are ready and eager to meet you. What is it you said? You were recruiting them for a job program?" Gelus flashed a grin at the question as they began making their way to the yard.
"Indeed, Ms. Bard. We at Earth Ice Services are constantly looking for ways to benefit the youth of Planet Earth. I hear your institution is raising the leaders of the future. With our job program, they will receive a full scholarship while they work for our company. That way they can focus on their studies while gaining valuable job experience. At the end of it all, they graduate debt free." Gelus followed next to Ms. Bard as they walked, finally making their way to the soccer field, where the brightest of the Senior class had gathered to meet them. The Arcosian looked through the crowd, his scouter reading each of their power levels. Their strength was impressive for their age, but none of them had managed to match their power... yet, anyway.
He hoped someone would come along with power or some other quality that would truly wow him.
