This had to work, it just had to!
Pankaa had spent many sleepless nights now perfecting it! It all came down to today where he was finally putting it to the test... A camera had been set up close to the cube that'd taken his and Nero's Namekian father, or at least as close as he was willing to set it up and the second half of the teleporter had been placed there too-- Not on the cube since he didn't dare touch it, but as close to it as he could physically manage, now back home out the backyard side of the house he was with the other half of the teleporter, the part with all the bells and whistles of controls.
He stood holding the control panel he'd made for the teleporter as he kept his eyes squarely on the machine itself-- It looked fairly simple, like a sort of metal pad to stand on but it was so much more then that. He watched now more intensely then ever as he put in the command for it to launch into action, it'd start to glow a warm blue in colour as the same blue light began to form a shape in the middle of the platform making Pankaa lean in closer to get a better look at what was forming as it began to materialize right before his very eyes!!!
...
It... It was bread? A whole loaf of bread? What? But why? Why bread? The Avali would set his control panel down on one of his outside benches and would lift up his working goggles as he moved to go over to the teleporter platform, leaning down to get a good look at the food that now sat in the middle of it. Yeah, it was bread alright-- Or more accurately it was now toast and a perfectly toasted whole loaf at that. He frowned and poked at the food a few times-- Aside from being toasted it was completely fine or at least it looked fine? He took out a pen from behind one of his ears though and unclipped a notepad from his utility belt as he scribbled down a note to work on making sure the machine didn't cook anything else that went through it-- But that it could make for a nice toaster if he took the same idea and applied it to such. But he wasn't trying to make a toaster here, he was trying to bring their dad back and preferably not cooked.
Was this bread even something that had come from the cube itself like he'd hoped? Or had his calculations on the other half of the teleporter been completely wrong? Maybe if he reconfigured it a little to solve the toasting problem and sent something back through it the other way he could see if it then went into the cube? He looked to the little camera he had set up on the desk he'd set the control panel down on, the cube looked the same as it had always been and there was no movement around it either. He had to try, he had to try everything until something worked.
He sat down with the control panel to one side and the teleporter platform on the other, pulling his goggles back down over his eyes as he started to work on fixing what he thought was causing the whole toasting issue. He had a few ideas in mind already for what he could attempt to send back, but he needed to make sure they wouldn't just be cooked on the way there first. Once the item sent was gone though he figured it'd be a good time to pay the cube another visit in person to see if it'd really worked... As much as he hated being around the thing.
