Fighter's Gamble

To Zenos there was no denying that all of this was indeed a game... with benefits, of course, as this entire brawl would net him a nice sum since enough chickens had apparently taken the bait. Amongst them there were either those earthlings that were just that cocky as to challenge him without any basis, and those that believed themselves martial artists through the gift of ki and simply lost to a guy that could use none of that so easily. The truth of it all was that when someone had a special gift such as ki, they would often not see outside of their own little box, only concerned with comparing the height of each other's aura.

The Konatsian needed none of that loser shit, to him one's so called power level was only a parameter to figure out whether the target was killable or not otherwise he would eventually just return later. Otherwise all of them were just mortal flesh, able to be broken much like anything else. That was all there was to it, money and a little bit of stretching to be had for the renegade Konatsian.

At some point when most of his opponents simply went down, and the bucket was filled to the brim with zeni, a creature approached Zenos. The latter looked over only to find this, strange appearance that had manifested itself to the man. He was quite confused, of course, but he had seen stranger things out there in the universe- by far he did not know if this was meant to be a living species from this world, but other than that he frowned.

"Distraction? No. I merely put on a show to earn myself some zeni."

He said, before he reached out for the bucket that had laid behind him with the offerings of those challengers. It was quite full, and he began collecting most and storing it inside his own wallet.

"A gamble, you might call it. One that each and every one of these individuals has chosen to take willingly. They all lost. That is all."

After that he kicked the empty bucket away and once more turned towards the insect like creature.

"I am Zenos. What is a big talking bug doing around on this planet? You are a first for me during my time here."

Zenos quirked an eyebrow. What did this bug mean that he could say the same about the Konatsian? Of course his brain slowed down a bit when he started hearing phrases like 'my calculations', was this guy a bug or a machine? Why could he do math in the first place? Strange. He appeared to be not just a magic bug, perhaps he was some other kind of intelligent species after all. That was his best take on the situation at hand. Alas, while it was true that the average Earthlings was by all definitions just a wuss, that was just merely the average.

"Maybe I am just not the average Earthling. There are individuals on this planet that are far scarier than I am. They are known individuals across the universe at large."

The guy rolled his eyes up a little, it would not be the first time he was taken for an Android, however Zenos was organic through and through- all flesh and no metal, there was simply no way to explain it, because he did not understand it too well himself. All he did was just deal with the consequences of his situation.

"My species does not matter in the slightest. Neither am I an Android. I have a special body, that is all there is to know. I am the exception."

Zenos however found a little annoyance with this guy just bugging in his business so much. Normally he did not care giving out details about his career, but this one was awfully curious just to be possibly interacting with a street brawler.

"It is not my career, but what if it was? Do you have a problem with me making a quick buck this way?"

Of course, Zenos knew the streets very well, and if this guy wanted trouble, he would give him the smoke.

He had no idea what this creature was on about. Not only did he apparently come across as outlandish with the fact he would butt in with Zenos' choice of doing whatever he liked- and that alone should earn him an ass whooping- but he did not really quite explain any of why he was even reaching out to him.

"You have a problem, and why should I care about your problem? What do you bring to the table? It is either money or strength, otherwise you are not unlike those few just now I have drained of their coin."

Eventually that crowd was dismissed by the bug doing whatever it was doing, and drove most people away from his immediate proximity. Well, not that he cared, he had already gotten all their zeni- therefore he did not care to actually break their jaws, unlike what this creature likely thought about was Zenos' focal point.

"We have differing opinions, then. You do not grow only as a result of muscle training."

Whether it had something to do that Zenos was shutoff to ki, well, was something that could be argued, but in either case the bounty hunter was already tired of the charade.

"And are you bringing this 'challenge' or not?"

It did happen to be that Zenos was very direct often times. Of course this was not just a thing with this stranger that had approached him. It was not just a matter of appearances of course, there was no need for the man to once more elaborate the fact that he was talking to a literal flying creature of such a caliber. Well, in the end, Zenos was just unbothered by the opinion of others. He did not quite care what they thought in the slightest past what he wished to know. Whether people liked him doing something or not was hardly going to ever make a difference in his book. Was he going to kill them if he disagreed with him? Hell nah, he did not care that much to be 'right'. He was neither right nor wrong as far as his understanding could go.

"Yup. I just say what I think."

He responded. For he was just Zenos. Again with a tone that implied plain and boring, nothing out of the ordinary. He had been here before. There was nothing new, and unlike this moment here, some people actually took offense in the way the Konatsian potentially responded. Now that of course usually deserved an ass beating, but that was an entirely different issue given the fact that in the end Cocoona did not seem to be really that pretentious or whatnot.

"No. Of course it is not. It ain't like training is some kind of repeated exercises. It's a whole journey. These dudes fell because they failed to see it. That and they thought they could get free money by jumping me."

That and he made a bunch of money from beating them up, which could always be useful in his life. He eventually looked over Cocoona curiously. This creature was a bounty hunter? Curious, but not the end of the world. He had been in the game for some years, he got to see some real strange individuals in his profession doing the most unlikely things.

"I do not think from a glance the first thing you would see is a resemblance. For obvious reasons. But I guess you mean attitude and such? How old are you exactly?"

He wondered. In the manner he spoke he almost talked like he was his grandpa, and Zenos was fairly mature himself, so he did not expect just anyone to just tell him about experience. Even though, he did not really agree with the individual. When he described such a thing as a frivolous pursuit. It was a choice of words that simply went against the way he lived this life of his, without thinking twice.

"Waste time? If someone's happy doing something, that's not time wasted. That's up to you how you choose to use what you gained from it. Hell, kids nowadays make profit off playing video games. I can't make an easier example than that."

Zenos mentioned, before he shrugged off.

"Hey, if you want to spar go ahead. I got some time to spare until I gotta go."
