It seemed like a tale as old as time. The hardened hammer of the law, the Cowboy, ensuring his people's safety from a supernatural force, fighting against a beast beyond their wildest dreams.
Although, this time around, it was a lot less personal. Cowboy Cerrone had been looking around for a while for a job that was a bit more nature based, considering it was a little repetitive having to go repeatedly into the same dank and dark super-villain like man caves and such for his assigned targets. He liked to switch up the scenery from time to time, and he was always was impartial to the wild wild wilderness of the planet that he lived on. So, he began searching in much more rural areas for any job openings or hits that were located in a much more nature-like setting than the majority of hits that had come before this one. And while he failed to find any listings that specified the taking out of a target whilst within the wilds of the wooded forests that surrounded him, he found a much more, unique, and, intriguing, opportunity in place of it.
After ambling around enough small towns and villages, he came across one that immediately gravitated toward him for some, nonverbal reason- and after asking around for any work that was available for a man of his particular skillset, he was led to the town's mayoral hall. Where the mayor himself began to speak with the surrogate sheriff about an ongoing thorn in their side for the past few weeks or so.
Occasionally, this well known nuisance of a Majin who went unnamed due to the townsfolk never able to get ahold of him for more than a few seconds went around playing practical jokes that often ended up with dire consequences at the butt of them. This, gremlin of a creature, continually tortured the towns' residents through pranks both minor and major- with the last joke having landed several people in a hospital bed. While in stable condition, the mental recovery would be several weeks at best, and the emotional toll would take even longer to recover from.
Being naturally softhearted for country goers such as these fine people considering the atmosphere that he was raised in, Cassidy took the job right away, and even offered to do it at a discounted rate. And after being given what little information that he could get, Cassidy began to search amongst the wilderness for something that was beyond that of what nature could birth.
He didn't really make an attempt at going stealthy, knowing the nature of this threat, he knew that it'd most likely be more interested in a noisy and lively type of prey rather than a quiet and meek one. So, Cassidy rummaged his way through the wooded forestry, eyes peeled and inner radar at work to see if he could sense anything out of the ordinary.
