The Fires of Training

The warrior's training was going well thus far. She had managed to avoid all of the geysers so far without using her eyesight. Detecting the subtle change in temperature and the sound of the bubbling molten rock made it a little too easy. Perhaps she underestimated herself? She had gotten much stronger since coming to Namek. It was almost as though she was a different person. Right as she moved to dodge the latest burst of lave heading her direction, she heard a nearby voice call out, addressing her. Gira's eyes opened with surprise, causing her to miss her timing over so slightly and narrowly avoid a face full of lava. After taking a moment to recover and check herself for injuries, Gira turned towards the source of the voice. "Jeez, give me a warning before you shout at me next time. That almost got ugly." Placing her hands on her hips, the Saiyan sized up the newcomer. He was strong; practically as powerful as her! He said that these were Mazoku lands, something she was well aware of. He didn't seem to be familiar with her affiliation. Then again, she didn't exactly look like she was part of the Mazoku. "Oh, I see. This is just a misunderstanding. I'm actually part of the Mazoku myself! Name's Gira. My sensei is Gandigan. Though maybe you know me as Farria... hm..." Gira thought for a moment, then gave her new acquaintance a carefree grin. "Anyway, you can call me whatever you want. You must be part of the Mazoku too, right? Nice to meet ya!"

Gira could immediately tell that this newcomer didn't like her. Which was a shame in her mind. The young Saiyan thought she was fairly likable. Still, it seemed he decided to stick around for a bit and speak to her anyway. He asked the obvious question; about why she bothered with the Mazoku at all, since it looked like she wasn't exactly the type of person to work with them. She understood that point of view. The more time she spent around the Mazoku more generally, the more she realized that she was different from them in more ways than one. Still, they weren't bad people, even if they were different. Gandigan in particular was a noble soul. Gira knew that he once struggled with great evil, and respected his ability to overcome it. Your values mean nothing if they aren't tested. That was something that the Saiyan was beginning to understand. "Why? Long story. A good one too, but we'll just go with the shortened version for now." She laughed a bit. "But I originally came here from Earth cuz I thought the Namekians might be able to help me with my training. But then I met Gandigan and asked him to train me. He's been my sensei ever since and he helped me get as strong as I am now. When he took over as King, I supported him cuz I believed in his vision. I still do." She looked up as though she were thinking about the next part.

"As for why I stay... hm... let's just say i've got an opportunity to change the world. Like, really change it. For the better. That, and I also have friends here and I want them to succeed." When it came to changing the world, she was referring to what Gandigan told her about his desire to see her as Queen of the Saiyans. She wouldn't come right out and say it though. Still many things to do before she could truly say she deserved the crown. It was what the newcomer said next though that brought a bright red blush to her cheeks. Apparently, her sensei called her one of the Mazoku's strongest warriors. This caused her to swell with pride. "Sensei really said that?" She cleared her throat and regained her composure when her new acquaintance challenged her to spar. "A fight? I must not be the first Saiyan you've met before. I can never turn down a good challenge!" Gira grinned, immediately slipping into a defensive fighting stance. "But let's make it interesting. Say..." Gira thought for a moment. "Ah! Got it! Base forms only. First one to transform, give up, or get knocked out loses. Sound fun?"

Gira was happy to hear that her new acquaintance acknowledged the similarities between them. She wasn't sure what kind of person he was. He looked very Saiyan-esque in some ways, but he referred to Saiyans as though he was not one of them. Gira found that rather interesting. When he asked about Gandigan's plan to invade Planet Plant, Gira frowned slightly. "Gotta admit, i'd probably go about it a different way. But I understand where Gan-sensei is coming from. As a Saiyan, I know; the only way the Saiyans are gonna change is if someone strong forces them to. I just don't like that. Like, I fight to have fun and make myself stronger. Not to hurt people or conquer planets. But there are Saiyans out there who do like to hurt people... like Lottus." The young Saiyan clenched her fists as her violet aura flared once she thought of him... the only person or thing in her life that ever truly made her angry right down to the depths of her soul. She was always told by her mother that her gift was that she was able to see the good in anyone... but she could not find that glimmer of light inside of Lottus. If it even existed at all, she was too blinded by her hatred to see it. She was snapped out of her thoughts of disgust by the newcomer announcing that he not only accepts her challenge, but that he won't even use his sword. "Really? I'm no sword fighter, but that's probably a good portion of your style, right?"

Gira grinned, happy to have found a fighter like her who loves a fun, challenging battle. "I can't become an ape anyway. My friend Zuci can, though! I can still transform, but that'll be something you'll have to force me to do if you wanna see it." She gave him a joking wink. Now came the best part of combat; the anticipation before the first attack was thrown. She loved it. It was almost like when one was at the top of a rollercoaster, left to hang there before the drop. Gira could barely contain herself. It almost felt like she was going to jump out of her skin. When asked if she was ready, the Saiyan nodded enthusiastically. "Heck yeah! Let's do this!" No sooner did the words leave her mouth, her opponent had begun to rapidly charge his ki. sending a gust of wind in her direction. The hot, dry air caused her to close her eyes briefly, but she could feel the energy currents present in the area, and so she felt her opponent charging in her direction. Thankfully, she was excited to get started. She was ready, and so she wouldn't be caught off guard that easily. The only hint that the girl had something planned was a cheeky smile. The first punch her opponent threw would go right through the Saiyan as though she were made of air.

She wouldn't be gone for good, however, showing up directly behind him. "Pretty good. Excellent form and a fierce opening. This is gonna be a great time!" Gira would then attempt to grab both of her opponent's shoulders before pulling them in, trying to bring him closer with the aim of smashing her forehead directly into the back of his head, then attempting to follow up by swinging him around and throwing him into a volcanic rock formation that had formed from an old vent that had once flowed with lava, but had since hardened.

After their brief exchange, the two took a moment to get some space between them. He stated that he was impressed with her, which caused Gira to grin with pride. "I have a good teacher." However, he asked for something a little more substantial. The Saiyan couldn't say no to the challenge. "Alright, I think I have just the thing! This one's kinda new, but it's reliable." Sweeping her hands out in front of her in a circular motion, she brought her wrists together, aiming across the lava field at her opponent, who unleashed a barrage of ki in her direction. "Ka... me..." The young warrior brought her hands back towards her body, cupping them at her side. "Ha... me..." Then, a bluish-white energy began to form between her palms, beginning as a singular point of blue light that grew into a mass that Gira kept contained in her hands. As she threw her hands outward towards Maxsuz, she cried out confidently. "HAAA!!!" The energy mass between Gira's palms burst forth as a beam that flew through the skies, twisting and colliding with each blast, ripping through the energy as it made its way towards its target. Gira took the time to learn the Kamehameha when her sensei told her she needed more offensive moves. She had since grown to rely on it in many instances, most notably during the battle she, Cabasa, Marimba, and Cello had against Lottus. It was definitely her most versatile move.

Gira grinned when Maxsuz recognized the technique as belonging to Planet Earth. She nodded excitedly. "Yup! You got that right. I learned the basics from an old training tape. Nothing wrong with getting back to the fundamentals." Still, in spite of her successful counter to his technique, he was still confident. This was good. The young Saiyan was always excited to meet someone who could take her attacks head on with confidence. "I hope something that small wouldn't put ya down easily. I'm just getting started after all!" The two then stared across the battlefield at one another until suddenly Gira's opponent showed off a grin of pure confidence before making an upwards gesture with his fingers. The Saiyan was slightly confused at first, but she realized that what he was doing was an attack! The realization came just in time for her to notice that the lava beneath her had begun to bubble violently, unleashing several pillars of hot molten rock upwards right in Gira's direction. The girl flew upwards in an attempt to escape the lava cage, but she would not pass through unscathed. Protecting her face with her arms, the young Saiyan warrior burst through a thin veil of lava that had formed above her from the explosive power of the many lava pillars. This move left her arms burned and in pain, but she escaped without taking any decisive damage that would put her out of the fight. "Using the lava, huh? Good idea!" From her position above Maxsuz, Gira put her hands together before pulling them apart, a violet sphere of energy forming between them. She tossed the sphere downwards towards her opponent, but it would pass right past him, slamming into the lava directly beneath him before vanishing beneath the rolling orange and red waves. Almost immediately after, the sphere burst with explosive power, displacing the lava into a giant wave that attempted to consume Gira's opponent!

Gira readied herself once the lava covered her opponent. This move was not intended to be a decisive one. To her, it was quite similar to reciprocating a funny joke with one of her own. It appeared that Maxsuz also had the same idea in mind. Once he emerged from the lava, a barrier having protected him from the molten rock, he chastised her for attempting to use the same tactic on him, to which she smiled and shrugged. "Had to give it a shot, right?" What happened next shocked the girl, however. Taking up a pose similar to her own, he used her own technique against her, though it looked different from her own, carrying a blackened color with red details. Gira wasn't sure what to do at first, the attack heading in her direction was far too strong for her to simply negate like she did with the others. However, her face became stone cold with determination, a smile forming shortly after. This is exactly what she was looking for; a battle both friendly and serious at the same time. One she could take seriously, but had no real stakes.

"Alright! Bring it!" Readying herself, she took the attack head on. The energy overtook her, and though she tried her best to keep herself in place, the force of the attack was too much to bear. The sheer force of it pushed her through the skies, streaking towards a large rock formation that looked almost like a small mountain peak or a huge hill. She collided with the structure, the attack immediately obliterating it in a brilliant display of dark and crimson energy. Dust and debris mingled with the smoke that resulted from the attack, a huge cloud forming over the area. However, out of the smoke, came Gira. She wasn't going to be put down that easily. She had been beaten and battered, the right side of her gi torn and the black shirt underneath ripped near the stomach. She had to keep her right eye closed to keep the blood coming from her forehead from getting into it. Still, she was still very much in the fight. She panted heavily. That attack was no joke. Still, she maintained her usual carefree demeanor.

"Now that's more like it! Glad to see that you're fighting seriously now. If it's alright, i'm gonna start doing the same." With a mighty roar, Gira's violet aura formed around her, burning more brightly that ever before.

"Let's go!" And that was it. She launched herself at Maxsuz, covering the distance between them in an instant. She threw a punch towards his face, immediately vanishing from her spot as soon as the blow was thrown and reappearing behind him, aiming a savage kick towards the back of his head. This was her Justice Smash; her oldest technique, and one she came up with as The Great Saiyagirl in Earth's West City. It was meant to quickly take down criminals without hurting them too bad. However, she learned there were other applications for the technique. It was especially useful due to its low impact to her energy.
