Of the various lands Flax had seen these last few months since she had left the shadow of Konats behind her, none quite reminded her of home as this Gizard Wasteland on Earth did. Like Konats, Earth had varied ecosystems and environments, but was also home to deserts as harsh and cruel as the sun that beat its unceasing heat upon the planet. Konats' deserts may have been more vast, but Flax felt Earth's were more harsh. In Konats, life could be found under every rock, in every crevice, no matter where on the planet one looked. Here, on Earth? The deserts held no life. Held no solace or hint that creatures even walked this planet. It was peaceful, in a way, but haunting in others.
At the moment, though, Flax only really cared that there was no one around for her to hurt. She placed her hand on her chest and grimaced as a feeling not unlike an upset stomach washed through her entire body, although she knew it had nothing to do with the food she'd recently eaten. Rather, it was another sort of hungering. A hungering for wanton violence.
"Keep your pants on," Flax grumbled to herself as she cracked her neck and began to stretch her arms. "Give me a second, first." She didn't know why she bothered speaking to a void of pure darkness that had no consciousness of its own it could use to reply to her, but she supposed it was helpful to personify it, somehow. It'd grown into a habit at this point, anyway.
And then, Flax relaxed herself... And opened the floodgates. Suddenly, black tendrils of formless mass shot out from her body as a dark aura enveloped both her and the area around her. The dark energy blasted itself out indiscriminately, though out in the desert, the only thing it could destroy was sand. Flax could feel a shimmer of discontent wash through the void inside of her, but she simply shrugged, shook her head, and sighed. "What do you expect?" she asked it, "I'm not going to go around using you on random, low-power people. Sand is all you're gonna get for now."
Still, it was always harder to keep the black energy under control when it hadn't fed on a powerful fighter in a while. Unless a worthy challenger just happened to appear, Flax was going to have to figure something else out...
