Megis' methods were unreliable and Kyten still didn't understand what he had tried to teach. Twice he had knocked the pink one out in a single blow, and neither time had he felt any stronger. It was likely that he could have grown stronger, of course, but he had not wished to harm him more than he had. Though both cases were accidents, that did little to help. Maybe someone else could teach him what Megis had intended, and he had at least one idea of a person. Though, sadly, he did not get their name. That would likely make finding him difficult.
Kyten still knew that he had to grow stronger, however. There were still threats, still, those who would do harm to the planet. With no other proven alternatives, he had returned to his initial targets. Yet again, he sat atop the back of a fallen beast, a dinosaur far larger than him. The animal gave an occasional weak twitch as it lay on the jungle floor, but had no strength to truly resist. As the life was taken from the dinosaur, an enzyme was pumped to ensure no resistance. It was unnecessary in isolation, Kyten could easily incapacitate the creature without its aid, but it made things easier. There would be no obvious sign of a fight. Nothing to scare his future prey away, to let them flee before it was too late. Again, that was probably unnecessary, but it made things easier.
Far too soon, the fallen body had no more to give, nothing more to drain, nothing to give Kyten. Wrenching the arm from the desiccated corpse of the formerly great dinosaur, he scanned the area. His antennae twitched at the air as he sought further targets. Soon, he found his next target and began to fly in its direction. Truthfully, Kyten didn't know how much stronger he had to get. Perhaps there was no goal, no inherent limit to how strong he had to become. He would perpetually have to grow. If it was possible for him, perhaps it was possible for others.
Those were questions for the future, however. All that mattered was that Kyten knew that he had to get stronger.
