Just as Gandigan had earlier, Gira was able to catch herself from falling onto the ground, launching a kick in his direction before planting her hands and leaping back to her feet. Gandigan brought his arms up to cover himself from the kick, though the impact still wobbled him a bit. From there he began stepping back to try and create some distance as Gira began her onslaught. The Saiyan moved towards Gandigan and struck with a series of weaker melee attacks, which the Namekian able to block most of the damage coming his way.
"Give up? Why would I want that? We need to push each other now; it might be the last chance we get. I need to be ready for Lottus, and you need to be ready in case I fail!" Gandigan brought his hands together and swung them into Gira's gut, hoping to knock the wind out of her and give him some breathing room. He had spent a lot of energy the past few minutes and needed some time to recover if he wanted to hit Gira with something big again.
If he could hit Gira in the gut he would follow up by swinging his arms overhead and bringing them down on her back. Regardless of whether or not he was successful, Gandigan would again try and push himself backwards and out of the way of Gira.
Her sensei's words concerned the young woman a little bit. Gira had supreme confidence in the Mazoku King's ability to defeat the renegade Saiyan. However, it appeared that Gan himself wasn't too sure. That he might believe death was a real possibility. It was no use worrying about that right now though. As it stood right now, it was out of her hands. The only thing Gira could do for now was continue training and rooting for her teacher and continue to do as he asked her to do; protect Namek. Nothing was going to stop her from doing that. Her thoughts were interrupted by Gandigan slamming his fists into her gut. She was stunned for several seconds as the wind was knocked out of her; more than enough time for the Namekian warrior to follow up his attack with a similarly savage strike to her back. Gira let out a pained cry and allowed him to put some distance between the two of them. Taking a few seconds to stretch and wipe the blood and sweat from her brow, the Saiyan would quickly advance on Gan with a flying kick towards his gut aimed to send him flying upwards. She would then aim her palms out towards him before unleashing a ceaseless volley of ki blasts in his direction.
Gandigan didn't want to doubt his own abilities against Lottus, as he was confident that he would see a victory against the Saiyan, but at the same time he needed to be realistic. Lottus would be the toughest challenge he had ever seen, and death was certainly a possibility. In that scenario it would fall onto Nero and the Mazoku to defend against Lottus. Would they be able to win if Gandigan were to fail? the odds weren't great, but that's what this training was for.
Gandigan's attack worked well, buying himself a little time to breath as he took several leaps away from Gira. It seemed that she needed some time for herself as well, as the expected follow up to his own attack came later than he expected. The Saiyan came with a flying kick at Gandigan, which launched the Namekian into the air. From there she would attempt to follow up with a few weaker Ki blasts which Gandigan was more than ready to deal with.
Gandigan waited until the Ki blasts were near him, then opened wide and fired down a Shugeki Wave. The wave tore through Gira's Ki blasts and followed down aimed directly at the Saiyan.
In the end, Gira's barrage of weaker ki blasts were no match for her sensei's techniques. Firing a Shugeki Wave, a technique that Gira was all too familiar with, her wall of energy blasts was torn asunder. The wave of energy overtook the young Saiyan as she screamed in pain, the energy leaving burns over her arms and legs as she used them to try and protect her softer areas. Eventually, she was able to twist and contort her body until she was no longer trapped in the beam. As usual, her sensei's Shugeki Wave was very painful indeed. It was a good, familiar kind of pain though. Gira hung there in the sky, attempting to get her bearings again. She was heavily damaged. Her gi was tattered and singed, her limbs badly burned. That was all in addition to the damage she sustained throughout the course of the fight that had been accumulating. At this point, she was fighting to keep her eyes open. She wasn't ready to give up yet, though. The young warrior still had one more trick up her sleeve before she was truly left with nothing. Spitting blood towards the ground, she grinned at her sensei. "That hurt. But then again, it always does." She had to build just a little more power. Just a little more. "Not gonna lie, i'm starting to feel a little woozy. Don't think that means i'm done yet though. I think i've still got enough power to give you a challenge." Her muscles tensing up and swelling with power, Gira's aura erupted around her body once more. "One more big attack, sensei. Let's see what you think!"
The Shugeki Wave was one of Gandigan's most reliable techniques, and once again it proved it's worth as it landed directly at Gira. He thought that might have been enough to put the battle away; that maybe Gira had taken all the punishment that she could, but the Saiyan proved Gandigan wrong as she remained in the air. Though her clothes were in tatters and her body was beaten down her will remained strong, which is what he had come to expect from her by now.
Gira told Gandigan that she had one final attack to try, which was something that Gandigan had heard of before. The final, ultimate attack to seal a battle, or to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat. Ticoga had done the very same and in that case it proved successful as the Arcosian won their duel despite the gulf in power between the two. Might a similar thing happen here? Gira may not have been as powerful as Ticoga, but maybe this technique could see a victory for her too.
"One final attack, aye? Very well. Show me what you're capable of, Gira. But if your attack should fail then know that I'll be the one to end this battle."
Gandigan was going to let her attempt this final attack, it appeared. Though he warned her what would happen should she fail to finish things with it. Gira grinned and landed opposite her sensei a few dozen feet away, cupping her hands at her side in a pose that should be familiar at this point.. "With all my power... and all my pride... I will protect Namek, sensei. You can count on it. And with this... i'm gonna prove it...!" Gira's aura flared with her determination, her power swelling to great heights once again as her muscles struggled to contain it and her aura beginning to be tinged with red. Her pain and fatigue momentarily melted away and all that remained was pure adrenaline. "Kame..." All this time, she had been too weak to be any good to anybody. She had worked her ass off to change that, and at last, it was finally paying off. Her sensei, the fighter she looked up to more than anything, was trusting her with the defense of his home. At this point, Gira felt like it was her home too. That was a turn of events she never expected. "Ha... me..." She owed a lot to the King of the Mazoku, and she was going to begin paying him back by showing him the power they built together! "Now, I WIN!! HAAAA!!!!" Throwing her hands out in her sensei's direction, a giant wave of ki fired from out of Gira's palms, gouging a twenty foot deep trench in the ground as it ripped its way towards the Mazoku King.
Gira activates her MAX Power mode, Burning Pride, boosting all techniques by 10%! Gira spends 4 MP to boost Awakened Fury by +x1! Gira uses her Serious Kamehameha! (404,772 PL) MP reduced to 0! Burning Pride deactivated! Gira cannot regain MP on her next post.
Heavy Attack Technique || Serious Kamehameha Gira gets serious, firing a Kamehameha with a ton more power behind it!
Gira's power built up rapidly, condensed to a sphere within her hands. As he promised he would not try and stop Gira from attacking, as he was eager to see what depths the Saiyan was capable of reaching. Would she pull out an unexpected victory? Or would she disappoint the Mazoku Lord? "For Namek, Gira. Remember that now. If am I lost then the weight of Namek will fall to you, Marimba, Treses, Cello, Otama and Cabasa. The Mazoku must defend Namek!"
The Mazoku Kingdom had already grown beyond anything that Gandigan could have expected, yet part of Gandigan believed that there was still more to come. His strongest desire above all was to protect his home, but next to that it was to establish the legacy of his people, whether that be on Namek or elsewhere.
When Gira finally unleashed her Kamehameha wave Gandigan didn't flinch. He stood first and allowed the wave to overtake his body. Almost instantly he could feel his skin being torn to shreds, with the energy wave burning down to his muscle and bone. He desperately attempted to dig his heels into the ground, but it was pointless as Gira's attack overwhelmed him, throwing the Namekian onto his back. When her attack finally concluded Gandigan lay a smoking mess stuck in the soil.
But he wasn't defeated. Almost on auto-pilot now, Gandigan would strike both arms up into the air and fired off a barrage of Ki blasts. In his state he could hardly stand, let alone fly so he had to improvise a little bit, turning his Maelstrom into a mortar like attack, firing from the ground before the blasts would flip over and come back down.
Once the shining blue light of her finishing move faded, Gira remained stuck in her Kamehameha's finishing pose. No matter how hard she tried to lower her arms, take a step forward, or move at all, she was stuck in this very open position. "Well, it's official. I can't move." The young woman let out a weary, breathless chuckle. The only hint of movement was the very slight trembling of her arms and legs as they struggled to support the injured Saiyan. Squinting her eyes to look through the cloud of dust and debris, she found that she couldn't see her sensei in the aftermath of her technique. Still, she could sense his energy. It was very faint and easy to miss, but he was still kicking down there. "Did I... did I win...?" He shouldn't be able to stand after taking her full power head on like that. Indeed, her assessment was correct. However, Gandigan had one last trump card up his sleeve. From out of the trench came a barrage of ki blasts that soared into the sky. "Oh dammit..." Gira had an idea of what was going to happen next. She tried desperately to move. To do something in response. But no matter how much her brain pleaded with her legs to move, they were stuck in place. She could still move her arms, however, if only a few inches. Charging up a ball of ki in each hand, the Saiyan fired blast after blast in an attempt to blow them out of the sky... but it was no use.
The weaker blasts were no match for the sheer power of Gan's technique. "It's not over... not while I have ki left!" Clenching her fists, Gira roared in agony and effort. Finally, through adrenaline and force of will, Gira got her legs to move. And not a moment too soon. The deluge of ki finally descended onto the battlefield, pulverizing any untarnished landscape that remained. Gira ran through the explosions, the heat from her sensei's ki burning her back and shoulders. She was making a beeline for where she sensed Gan's energy, hoping she had enough energy to finish the fight when she actually got there... if she actually got there. Another energy blast exploded behind her, sending her flying into the air like a ragdoll. The Saiyan teen would get a hold of herself in midair, however, looking downwards into the trench where she spotted her sensei with his palms facing the sky, firing out the countless blasts that were tearing her apart. Rearing back her fist, Gira threw a punch right into one of the ki blasts in an attempt to send it back into Gandigan. the young warrior had a brief, but valiant struggle against the blast before it eventually overtook her, sending her flying into the clouds as she screamed. A minute or so later, the unconscious, broken form of the girl would fall from the sky, landing onto the ground and causing her to let out an uncomfortable groan.
At the very least, she was still alive. So she didn't win after all. However, this was still a very important step for her. She was proud of her performance despite technically losing the confrontation. Such a thing was new for Gira, who usually wanted to win more than anything. Namek had changed her more than she thought, and she found a peace here that had eluded her on Earth. It also helped that on Namek, she felt like she could be herself without the need to hide behind a mask, and she found others who accepted her for who she was. For those reasons and many more, she was proud to call Namek home. Hopefully, she would have the opportunity to defend this planet alongside her sensei and all of her friends for a long time to come.
From Gandigan's position he could hardly see what was going on, but he didn't care. He fired over and over again, until he was sure the deed was done. Gira fought admirably, but in the end she had fired everything she had and came up just short, allowing Gandigan the opening he needed to put things to bed. For a while Gandigan simply lay within the pit that the Saiyan had put him in, allowing his body some much needed rest.
The last time he had been hurt this badly was when he had attempted to catch Ticoga's supernova attack, though even then he wasn't sure which was worse. His body was near the breaking point; even if he had won, the damage that Gira had dealt would take it's tool. Perhaps he shouldn't be pushing himself so close to his battle with Lottus, but that was just the kind of fighter he was. Surely there'd be a Dragon clansman around here somewhere who could help him out.
Eventually he felt the strength to move again, and was able to climb out of his pit and approach Gira. The Saiyan was unconscious now; resting after a close battle. The Namekian would sit their and wait...
