It had been two days since Bee had been left aboard the Jörmungandr by Kabe, after Kabe had returned from his injuries. Bee was certain he'd walked every single one of the thousands of metal hallways, slithered through every crawlspace and visited every room throughout the entire ship.
He was bored.
Even the holographic projection room, his most favorite room in the entire ship, was still months later being repaired. Bee really liked visiting the room, but every time he walked past it now it seemed to bring up funny, fuzzy memories of getting very hurt in a fight that his brother-dad had gotten into with brother-dad's friend-brother, who he now knew was the cousin of Kabe. He formed brows on his face to furrow, confused by trying to understand all of that, and swallowed down the those ugly little feelings the room brought up. Try as he might though, he stared at the room. It was like he was drawn to it. Static on the broken screens filled his eyes, and he could taste blood in his mouth and feel the tightness in his chest.
He shook his head violently trying to shake the images straight out of his brain until he felt a firm hand on his shoulder. "Kid, you alright?" the voice asked, and Bee looked up to see the tall and imposing figure of Curb. "Oh, um... yes. Alright. Just... bad thoughts in here." Bee explained, knocking on his exterior shell above his eyes. Curb looked at him, and Bee saw a rare smile appear as Curb exhaled. "You've been cooped up all day. Why don't you go hang out with your friends? I can send the boys to watch over you."
Bee got very excited for a moment. Yes! Friends! Then he seemed to pause, droop the brows he'd grown to furrow earlier, and pout. "Um, Bee friend not really around? Maybe just go for walk..." He wondered if Curb could see the sadness about that he was trying to mask, but if he did, Curb didn't ask. He never asked much besides if Bee was okay. And that was fine, Bee didn't want to be a bother to anybody aboard the ship. He'd cause enough trouble. He gave Curb's leg a hug of thanks, and then headed off out of the ship, the three Beppans following in tow.
Bee didn't really know where he wanted to go. He just knew who he wanted to see when he got there. But every time he'd looked or asked around, he'd gotten knowhere. While he was crazy with that 'curse' thing for a while, he'd asked everybody he saw if they knew the Pancake, and nobody could send him anywhere except toward nice food. And right as he'd finally given up on finding his friend again, he'd seen him in the distance at that big stupid castle fight! But before he could find him again, he'd been gone.
Bee's frustration had reached a boiling point. "So frustrating!!" he blurted aloud as he stomped into the prettiest cave he could see, wanting to find a shiny place to mope and wallow. He leaned back against a large blue crystal, his insectoid arms curled around his knees, feeling utterly lost, staring at the vague funhouse projection of his three companions in the crystal glass. "Piquillo, why friend no want find me too??" Bee asked aloud to one of his guards, and they shrugged. "I don't know kid, but maybe you can talk to your big brother about it?" he suggested.
Bee shook his head and huffed, he knew that Kabe hadn't been reachable for days, and that even when he reached out into Kabe's brain, he got nothing back in return. As he thought that maybe there was no one in the entire universe he could ask about this problem of his, a realization struck him and his eyes flashed like a bulb to the thought. He sprung to his feet without a word, and grew eyelids to squeeze his eyes shut. In his minds eye, he dug around in Kabe's shared memories for any mention of Pankaa. Maybe someone had known something!
Besides that meeting at the palace in the distance, there was one very distinct memory: that Zhalla lady! She was asking Kabe to keep an eye out for someone who sounded like they looked like Pankaa! He reached out into the air of Namek, jumping from brain to brain until he was pretty sure he found her. "Um... Hey? Zhalla? It Bee. Can come talk? Have some question." He hoped that she would come and see him. He knew she knew a lot about kids, and maybe she knew Pankaa too. Maybe she could help Bee understand what he was doing wrong.
