Ticoga had more energy left from his last technique than Gandigan realized. The Namekian was sure that his claws would find the mark, but just as he had before the Arcosian was able to match him blow for blow. He made no secret of his frustration, wearing it across his face as he engaged in the melee. Gandigan's lack of success had resulted in him getting a bit sloppy and unfocused, leading to him unable to take advantage of the gulf in power between the two.
Some of it came from Ticoga's own fighting form, which proved to be excellent, but some of it was definitely down to poor decision making on Gandigan's part. The Namekian was beginning to see flaws in his technique, which was exactly the purpose of this sort of sparring: to improve upon himself as much as possible before taking on Lottus. Leaps in raw strength were incredibly important, but he always believed strength without knowing how to utilize it was useless.
Still, in the heat of the moment it was hard to think like that. This was still a fight, and Gandigan still wanted to win. Perhaps rather foolishly he decided to strike with a similar technique as before, but instead of aiming to rake Ticoga against the chest he instead angled his claws forward into an uppercut. "Don't you ever tire?"

The spar so far was going rather well, despite the difference in power. Ticoga was learning how his own resilience had improved over the course of just a year. But his ability to relatively keep up with the stronger Namekian would not go to his head, as Ticoga had witnessed arrogance, even brief arrogance in the moment, backfire hard on many Arcosians - some had been Arcosian Nobles that believed they were more powerful than they actually were.
Ticoga reminds himself again that all it would take is a single mistake for Gandigan to gain a heavy advantage. But, there was still moments where the Namekian would leave himself open - and one such opportunity presented itself! Gandigan's claws came raking up - and Ticoga allows the attack to slash across his skin and bioarmor, and slamming unto his chin in an uppercut blow! In that instant, even as his own blood flew into the air, Ticoga pushed himself into action!
Ticoga's body suddenly twists as he moves to attack Gandigan! Leaning into the blow as much as he could, Ticoga's right elbow would come swinging around, intent on being driven into the left side of Gandigan's jaw!
"Eventually, I will," Ticoga replies even as the blow comes after Gandigan. "But being tired isn't enough to stop me from acting!"
Ticoga takes full damage from Gandigan's attack! (26%)
Ticoga retaliates with Light Attack Technique || Sudden Blow Description: Ticoga rushes to his opponent, ducking down, and delivers a harsh blow to their stomach with either his right or left elbow. Power: 20% -> 30% Supremacy Cost: 1KP
Sudden Blow will potentially deal 514,544 damage to Gandigan!
Gandigan's uppercut landed on Ticoga; the first decent shot the Namekian had landed in a while. The Arcosian responded almost instantly by throwing out an elbow, which collided with the left side of Gandigan's jaw. The Namek was sent flying backwards before forcibly halting his flight. Even when finding success, Ticoga some how found a way to take it away from him. The cuts and bruises were now beginning to pile up along his body, leading Gandigan to push for another regeneration.
Although all Namekians were capable of regenerating themselves to a certain extend, Gandigan had honed his own abilities beyond that of the common Namek. When Amon's parasite had escaped from his body it left behind a poison in his blood that was designed to slowly kill him, as well as halting his ability to recover. Gandigan was forced to research the natural regeneration abilities of his people and find new ways to go beyond it.
Although the process looked much the same as his earlier rejuvenation this would heal even more than before, leaving Gandigan in a nearly perfect condition. "That's much better. Now let's continue." Lacking the telekinetic abilities of Ticoga, Gandigan would have to do things the old fashioned way. The Namekian drove into the ground and tore out a large chunk of rock, throwing it at the Arcosian. The Namekian himself would fly right behind the rock, waiting to deliver a dropkick after it's impact.
Post by Emperor Ticoga on Nov 7, 2023 19:30:22 GMT -5
Once again, Gandigan healed away almost all of the progress Ticoga had inflicted upon the Namekian. There was most assuredly no chance of winning this spar; especially not if Gandigan could keep doing that, but Ticoga wasn't about to let himself be intimidated by something he knew ahead of time Namekians were capable of. Had the gap between their powers been less, this might have been less of an issue. But as things stood, Ticoga was still quite exhausted from the back and forth.
Which meant relying less on his Ki, and more on his secondary power - his telekinesis. Below, Gandigan would try something similar, albeit more physical than Ticoga's actions earlier. The Namekian rips a large boulder from the ground, and hurls it at Ticoga! This would have been a surprise, if Ticoga hadn't encountered others that used similar tactics. The Shinjin that had attempted to kidnap mining workers, that Cyprus fellow, had thrown buildings at Ticoga in much a similar manner. Ticoga's eyes glow, and he flicks his right wrist - the boulder speeding towards Ticoga suddenly changes course, veering in a ninety degree angle away from him without losing any of its momentum! Following fast from behind the chunk of rock was Gandigan!
Ticoga crosses his arms over his chest, taking the double kick against his forearms! The impact knocks Ticoga further into the air, until hs spreads his arms and legs wide, using his power to near instantly halt himself. He had to think, and fast - how was he going to fight Gandigan now, with the Namekian back to near full strength, while his own power was dwindling? And answer came to the Arcosian, and now it would just be a matter of putting it into play.
Wordlessly, Ticoga dives down through the air, hurtling towards Gandigan! Ticoga would suddenly vanish, appearing some meters behind the Namekian! Ticoga thrusts his hands upwards, and from below, hundreds of small stones and rocks fly up towards Gandigan like bullets!
Ticoga uses his UT: Mind over Matter to telekinetically brush aside the boulder thrown by Gandigan! He then uses this power to send dozens of rocks at Gandigan! (Non-KP)
Ticoga's telepathy proved too powerful against Gandigan's brute might, easily turning away the incoming boulder with a simple flick of the wrist. But next came Gandigan, rocketing towards the Arcosian with his two feet forward. Ticoga would bring his arms up and take the impact head on, being thrown backwards before suddenly stopping. "Don't worry. I've used up about all of my regenerative abilities at this point. Any more damage you do will stick this time around. I know how frustrating it can be to see all your progress vanish so quickly."
Gandigan had battled against many Namekians before, and almost all of them employed some degree of regeneration in their battles. To see the damage you've caused disappear before your very eyes can be demoralizing to say the least, though he didn't expect someone as experienced as Ticoga to be too disheartened by it.
The Arcosians next attack came then, sending up hundreds if not thousands of small stones up at Gandigan. The first wave of impact brought Gandigan numerous of small cuts across his body, forcing him to raise his hand up and produce a small energy shield to develop his body. Most stones would have been deflected after that, though some of the smaller ones would instead be destroyed upon impact, sending through only a small cloud of dust to brush against his skin.
When the storm was over Gandigan would take his energy shield and reform it into a sphere. Then, splitting the sphere in two Gandigan would hurl them at Ticoga, sending them off in opposite directions in an attempt to sandwich him as the Arcosian had tried to do to him earlier. Instead of just leaving it at that however, Gandigan would place a bit of icing on the top by firing a Shugeki Wave straight down the middle.

Well, that came as some comfort, knowing that the Namekian had used up the limits of their regenerative powers - at least, so they claimed. Whether or not this was actually true is unknown to Ticoga, but he didn't think Gandigan would lie about it in something as small as a sparring match.
"I admit, it can be difficult to reconcile the ability." Ticoga replies, grinning. He doesn't have the same combat drive as Taori, whom Ticoga had no doubt would be absolutely pleased with this kind of fight. And against the Saiyan King, Ticoga had backed down angrily - but considering Ticoga had to protect himself against a technique that was obviously designed to snap the spine of its victim, he had felt it was best to not continue, lest the King got too overzealous. "But if we're to see this through, then I'll show you what I can do. I still have one more trick up my sleeve, after all!"
The problem, of course, was getting to the point where he could use it. Not only did he need to build up enough power to begin that attack, he needed enough time to charge it to full power. Whether he had the luxury of that amount of time was very much negligible. Gandigan's attack came swift, and from three directions at once! Ticoga grits his teeth, and pulls in his arms and legs - he would have to bet everything on this!
The three attacks struck Ticoga with terrible force, causing the Arcosian Emperor to careen back to the ground, smashing clear through one of the plateaus!
Ticoga takes full damage from Gandigan's attack! (52%)
Ticoga somewhat unexpectedly took the full brunt of Gandigan's attack. The Arcosian was slammed from all sides, with the Shugeki Wave in particular throwing him down in the Earth below, slamming into a plateau on the way down. Gandigan would slowly follow Ticoga down, giving the Arcosian time to recover from what had just happened. It was unlikely that he had been damaged this much any time recently, and Gandigan was now curious to see just what this final 'trick' was. What cards did Ticoga have left to play?
Once he came into view, Gandigan would touch down and saunter over, examining the damage on display. While before they had been at similar leaves of visible damage, there was now a very clear divide between the two of them. Ticoga's final card would have to be a big one if he wanted to pull a victory out of the bag here. The Emperor's words on not pushing things too hard in sparring came back into Gandigan's mind, making him wonder whether or not he was now prepared to bring things to a close today.
"You've taken a lot of damage. Would you like to bring things to a conclusion now? Or would you like to test my theories on sparring?"

Ticoga used his telekinesis to lift large boulders and debris off of himself as he stands. His body ached all over, and he was fairly sure that he had a couple cracked ribs as well. Gandigan arrived and spoke, prompting a small chuckle from Ticoga.
"It's been months since someone has damaged me this much." Ticoga tells Gandigan with a smile and a light laugh. "Two other occasions come to mind - when I faced Mint for the throne of Arcose, and when I fought with King Taori on Arcose. He tried to break my back, but I managed to prevent that, fortunately."
A sudden stinging makes Ticoga flinch, and he looks behind himself - his eyes widen at the sight; about a foot and a half of his tail was missing from the end tip!
"Oh. Well, that's a first." Ticoga says aloud. "Fortunately, our rejuvenation chambers can regrow flesh. Not as efficient as your regeneration, but close."
Ticoga turns back to Gandigan.
"Well, I did have one last thing I could have done, but it requires quite a bit of time to pull off." Ticoga admits. "Usually, it is reserved for destroying comets, asteroids, or planets. I can control mine to explode within a localized location if I don't want to destroy the planet. I would have used that against you. But, again, it takes too much time to prepare."
"That sounds like quite the technique." The power to destroy planets. He made it sound so easy... it made Gandigan wonder if he might be possible of the same should he want to. Though he couldn't really see any situations in which he'd really want to destroy a whole planet. "You need time to prepare? By all means go ahead; I won't stop you. In fact I think it will be good. It'll give me a chance to test myself against this power, and it'll give us some time to walk in the meanwhile."
Gandigan had been thinking some things over; not just during the battle, but for a few weeks now. Now that he was King of the Mazoku he was in a position to do things that he wasn't before, but he would still need some help from others. Someone like Ticoga was in a prime position to do so.
"You remember Lottus? The one I'm after? I was told that twice he attacked Hatchi. The last time he did so he was defeated by a coalition of warriors. Lottus took pride in the fact that it took so many to take him down. What do you know of that battle?"
Post by Emperor Ticoga on Nov 8, 2023 13:37:35 GMT -5
Well, he wasn't expecting permission to prepare his Supernova. But it made sense, in a strange way - if Super Saiyans also could destroy planets, then knowing what that power feels like, and how much effort it takes to stop it, was a sensible thing to want to learn.
"If you're sure that you want to test it, then we can. Again, I can localize the blast to ensure it does not destroy the planet - but given your power, I believe you will be able to stop the blast." Ticoga says. He raises his right hand, pointing up as if at the sky; a small, marble sized ball of Ki forms an inch from his finger tip. After a moment, it begins to give off crackling electric jolts. Normally, Ticoga would allow the ball to expand as its power grew, but Gandigan appeared to want to discuss something. "Lottus... let's see..."
Gandigan began to walk, and Ticoga kept on step with the Namekian, though he kept his eyes on the ball of energy he was compacting so much power into. The fact that it apparently took multiple enemies of comparable caliber to defeat the Super Saiyan was... disturbing. Again, more proof that this power he possessed wasn't nearly enough. Evolution was the only way the Empire would survive. As for the two battles of Hatchi...
"The information gathered by my sources say little more than what you seem to already know." Ticoga admits. "However, we do know all those who were involved in the battle. ...Actually, no, we don't. There was one person present at that battle that we did not have information on. A tall, humanoid female with black and white hair. She appeared to be on Lottus' side of the battle early on."
Ticoga begins pulling at his memories of the reports, which was difficult while he was still focusing on building his power.
"...His ally took down multiple of Hatchi's defenders with a single attack, the reports state." Ticoga continues. "Known participants included King Taori, General Vocado, a Super Saiyan known to live on Earth named Russ, a young woman reported to have destroyed a place called Battle Island on Earth named Marrow who also seemed to be an ally of Lottus according to the reports, and a woman that lives here on Namek... what was her name... ...Zhalla, I beieve? The Empire's known of her for some time, but she's never acted out aggressively towards the Empire, so we've left her largely alone."
Ticoga continues thinking about the reports.
"The Saiyan, Russ, killed the girl Marrow I believe, and the tall woman helping Lottus evidently abandoned Lottus part way through the battle. King Taori and Lottus largely fought each other, and ended up knocking each other out. Reports suggested that Taori broke Lottus' back in the end. But, other than the fact that Taori ordered Lottus be taken back to Sadala, we don't know anything after that." Ticoga states. "We're looking into the tall woman, but she hasn't appeared again since disappearing from the battle, and we have no leads. I've met with Nero, and based on reports about Zhalla's participation, I feel that Namek is actually very well defended compared to Plant."
Ticoga begins charging Heavy Sparking Technique || Supernova Description: In times of true desperation, Ticoga will raise a hand, forming a small ball of Ki at his index fingertip. He points above his head, and the ball rapidly expands, becoming massive and resembling a miniature star. The attack is launched when Ticoga points towards his intended target, and the Ki ball then descends towards the intended target. Upon connection with either the target or the ground, the ball explodes in a devastating blast. Power: 110% -> 140% 1st Charge Cost: 6KP-5MP Variants: Preparation: You charge your attack for up to two posts. Charging for one post adds +30% to your Sparking Technique’s power, while two posts adds another +30% atop (60% total). You fire the post after you finish, but your KP and MP is consumed when you start the charge. You cannot regain KP naturally while charging, but your passive MP regeneration continues normally as you charge. You cannot use any other techniques while charging unless you fire or cancel your charged attack.
Back-Up Plan: When you use your Sparking, you generate a sustained Defensive Technique. Value depends on the size of your Sparking. Light: 20%, Medium: 30%, Heavy: 40%. (1/3)
Overflowing: Your technique gains an additional 10% strength when clashing with any other technique, and cannot be fizzled unless beaten in power.
Gandigan was quite confident that he could stand against the power that Ticoga had in store for him, but he needed to be sure. He needed to know what it felt like to go against that sort of power and see if he had the will to come out the other end. "Yes; localized would be perfect. We don't need Namek blown up." While the Arcosian raised his hand into the air and began to gather energy, Gandigan would offer him a course of action for the future.
"Several of the names you mentioned I have heard of before, and some others I haven't. There is one that is more important that all the others thought: Taori. The King of the Saiyans. He defeated Lottus... and yet Lottus still lives. We dealing with the Lottus menace I believe that all who are responsible for this mess need to see justice. That is why once I'm done with Lottus, and after we've trained together for a while I want to return to Namek and execute that justice personally."
Gandigan was prepared to go to war if need be. He could take on Taori himself, but he would help for the Saiyans on the whole. "I believe it's time that the Saiyans live under a non-Saiyan administration, which is where you would come into play."

Ticoga stops walking at the last part of Gandigan's words. He looks at Gandigan with a mixture of curiosity and confusion.
"That's quite a bit to unpack." Ticoga says after a moment. "I suppose the easiest way to address this in order."
Ticoga considers his words carefully before speaking again. The last thing he needed now was a misunderstanding.
"On the matter of King Taori - to play Dabura's Advocate - we need to take into consideration a few things involved here. The first, is that Lottus is... unusual." Ticoga says, gazing at the still strengthening compact ball of energy hovering over his finger. "I could barely believe the reports myself, but that Saiyan participated in the Imperial Open - while he was still dead. I cannot fathom how that was possible, but the former Emperor Mint is under the impression that the Shinjin that participated in the tournament, Ward, had something to do with it - but that is conjecture at best with no solid proof."
Ticoga looks back at Gandigan.
"And then, there is the matter of that recent battle itself over Hatchi - that it happened at all." Ticoga continues. "That Super Saiyan found a way to defy reality twice. It is very possible that King Taori may not have had another choice. If they killed Lottus, what was stopping him from coming back again? I imagine that must have colored Taori's decision quite a bit. I have absolutely no proof to this line of thought of mine, it is only conjecture. It is just as possible that they allowed Lottus to live because they may see a use for him."
The thought of Taori potentially unleashing Lottus on Arcose was the first to spring to mind.
"As for what you're suggesting - I assume you mean for the Empire to take control of Plant." that was a statement, not a question. "That will require more thought on my part. There are dangers about that planet I must consider first. In all honesty, it may be safer to destroy the planet and eradicate the Saiyans before more Super Saiyans like Lottus can rise up."
Ticoga blinks, and looks again at the ball of energy.
"It's ready. Prepare yourself, King Gandigan." Ticoga says. He leaps off the ground, and brings his hand higher above his head. Almost instantly, the marble sized ball expands massively, becoming a gigantic sphere of churning red and yellow blazing power, appearing almost like Ticoga was controlling a star! "This is the strongest attack I have in my arsenal - if this doesn't test you, nothing I can do will!"
Ticoga continues charging Heavy Sparking Technique || Supernova Description: In times of true desperation, Ticoga will raise a hand, forming a small ball of Ki at his index fingertip. This attack will fire on my next post! It's total Power (not including Overflowing) will be 2,915,747!!
Ticoga did not seem as enthusiastic for his idea as he would have hoped, but he didn't outright dismiss it either. The problem of Lottus somehow coming back from the dead was something that Gandigan had encountered before, but in his mind that wasn't good enough. "Even if Lottus could find another way to come back, it would have at the very least given the rest of the universe time to prepare for him. Failure to do so is tantamount to letting a wild animal run loose because you aren't sure if your sedative will work. A temporary respite would have been nice."
The last suggestion only made things worse. "And if Taori believes that he can somehow control Lottus then he is a fool. A fool and a man responsible for every single life that Lottus will extinguish. Only more reason to bring an end to him." Obviously a full scale occupation of Plant would be a significant ask of Ticoga, but Gandigan preferred it over eradication.
"I think that may be taking it too far. I believe in nurture over nature, Ticoga. If the Saiyans are a problem it's because of the leadership and culture which can be changed with the right degree of control. I understand that occupying them could take up a significant amount of your forces which is why I would offer to provide my own. There are several Mazoku clans who are eager for battle, who like to take out this desire on those around them. Within the neutral territory of Plant I would like to initiate several colonization efforts to resettle some of my tribes. Adding some space between them may do both of us some good."
It was a lot to take in, but they could sort out any details once the battle had concluded. For now Gandigan would take his defense pose and prepare for Ticoga's attack.

Ticoga looks down upon Gandigan, offering the Namekian an approving nod of respect as he watches the Mazoku King settle into his ready stance. It occurs to Ticoga that this will be the third time he will have used this technique on an opponent. Both of the other times had resulted in victory; but this was very much not the same situation.
The first time Ticoga had used this attack, he was battling a Shinjin by the name of Cyprus - they had landed on an Imperial mining colony and had begun an effort to kidnap the workers. Ticoga had picked up a distress signal, and ended up facing the Shinjin directly. Ticoga used this attack to put an end to their struggle, though there was never a body discovered after the fact, leading Ticoga to believe that the villainous Shinjin was still alive somewhere.
The second time was against a warrior named Zerori - she had some relationship with the missing Empress Ise, who even now was still missing. Zerori challenged Ticoga for the title of Shield of Arcose, proclaiming her desire to protect Ise and her belief that Ticoga's title would benefit her. But she also proclaimed to want proof through their fight that Ticoga deserved the title to begin with. It had been a grueling battle, and in the end, Ticoga had used this very technique for the second time, again bringing and end to the battle in doing so.
But since those two times, Ticoga had further perfected the technique's power - though at the cost of preparation time. And now, for the third time, he held the gigantic ball of energy, like a star, hovering above his fingertip. The Supernova shone across the landscape in bright, swirling red and yellow, its presence like a hum in the air.
"Here it comes, Gandigan!" Ticoga calls down, and swings down his hand, pointing at the Mazoku King! Immediately, the star-like sphere hurtles past Ticoga, and rockets towards Gandigan!!

This attack will potentially deal 2,915,747 damage to Gandigan! If it clashes against another attack or defense, it's power gains 10%, rising to 3,087,261!!
Curiously, Ticoga said nothing in response to Gandigan's approval. Perhaps he thought that the magnitude of their discussion was better left for after their sparring was complete, or maybe he just wanted to wait and process all that Gandigan had mentioned... or maybe he just wanted to the Namekian to be left wondering. Or maybe the attack the Arcosian was preparing required so much energy that he couldn't physically muster any sort of reply. He'd had to ask once all of this was over.
Right now Gandigan's main concern was Ticoga's ultimate attack, which at this point was now fully charged. The massive, swirling supernova above the Arcosian's head was all that he had promised it to be. Gandigan had no doubt that if he wanted to, Ticoga could destroy an entire planet with this attack... but could it destroy Gandigan? The Namekian had spent the last few minutes recovering his own energy, and had a number of options that he could counter with.
Or he could choose to do nothing. Ever wanting to test himself, Gandigan choose to counter Ticoga's super nova by standing still, waiting for it to land with his arms in the air. They were positioned to catch the attack, though whether or not he'd actually be able to do so was still up in question. "I'm ready!"
As soon as the miniature star made contact with the Namekian's hands he felt an immense burning sensation across his skin. That skin would almost instantly be reduced to nothing as now Gandigan was bearing the brunt with his muscle and bone instead. The Mazoku King dug his heels into the Earth and pushed back with everything he had... for a few seconds. Gandigan had overestimated himself, just as he had against Lottus on Plant, but this time he might truly pay the ultimate price.
It was hard to say what happened next. Once Gandigan's grip broke the supernova barreled forward and collided with him directly, carrying him into the planet's surface. Gandigan lost consciousness almost instantly.
