It was late morning in the peaceful lands of Earth’s eastern region. Morning dew clung to the grass and tree leaves, a gentle breeze blew through the thick forest and blanketed the entire area in a slight chill. Korin Tower stood proudly in the morning sun, the intricately carved structure reaching up through the air and disappearing into the clouds on its journey to the top of the heavens. This morning, Korin Forest’s many tribal clans had started their day. Breakfast had been cooked and eaten in short order at the Wolf Fang clan’s village. The children had begun helping to gather the dishes and clear the tables when two bright lights appeared in the sky. Crimson in color, they had the appearance of falling stars. The clan shaman was present outside, watching the two “stars” fall from the sky. He solemnly thought to himself that this had to be a bad omen, before going inside to consult his manuscripts.
It was at this time that the falling stars were seen by the rest of the clan, who stopped to watch where they were headed. They wondered what they might be, if they were stars or something else. As the falling fireballs from the heavens disappeared over the treeline, a great explosion rocked the land, almost as if they were in the midst of a great earthquake. Then there was silence. The birds and other animals, whose calls normally echoed throughout the forest, fell silent. Whatever the source of the commotion, they knew better than to go near it. In minutes, it was decided by one of the clan’s war chiefs that he would take a small group of warriors and check out the location of the fallen stars. The shaman had decreed that it was a bad omen, but when he suggested that they should ignore this threat until it passed, there was major pushback from War Chief Hapa and his men.
Minutes after the event had occurred, Hapa had equipped his group and taken them towards the presumed impact zone. As they drew nearer, it became more and more clear that they were on the right track. At first, the war party came across the corpses of various forest animals; deer, raccoons, birds, and more, who appeared to have been burned in the explosion generated by the impact. The closer they got, the clearer the signs became. Trees were stripped of their leaves and branches, blowing outwards away from the impact zone. The group of four men approached the crater, peeking inside. One of them exclaimed that the two stars were, in fact, two spaceships, causing the others to gather around as the two yellowed, weathered space pods opened. The first occupant to reveal themselves was a short, elderly man with pink skin and pointed ears.
Wearing a tall black hat and robes with a grand white fur collar, he came off as some kind of fortune teller or shaman. He looked around at the gathered tribespeople and smiled excitedly. Next to emerge was another short creature, but it lacked a nose or hair, instead having some kind of head tentacle and holes along either side of it. Additionally having several of these holes between his shoulders and along his arms. Its rubbery skin was as black as the night sky, the only sign of its presence in the darkness of the pod being two glowing crimson eyes. The creature emerged from the pod, picking up the elderly man in his arms and allowing him to climb onto his back. The two then rose into the sky, above the crater and above the gathered warriors.
This was Meitr and his Majin weapon, Excalibur.
One of the warriors aimed his bow at the old man on the creature’s back. He did not intend to fire, but he was too nervous and his aim too shaky. In less than a second, the poor boy had fired the bow, Excalibur had batted the projectile out of the air with a large club made from his own arm, then counterattacked with a thin beam of ki fired from his finger, the attack piercing the boy’s heart and dropping him immediately. The rest of the tribe froze in fear and shock from the speed of the exchange, looking down at their fallen comrade with his still-smoldering chest wound. Meitr, despite nearly taking an arrow in the eye, seemed entirely nonplussed by the whole situation. “Ah, you must be the welcoming committee. Lovely.” Meitr looked down at the remaining tribal warriors and smiled. “Well, I was hoping to get settled in first, but I never miss an opportunity to run an experiment. Advances in magick wait for no man, and indeed there is much work to do.”
Pointing over the Majin weapon’s shoulder towards the war party, he called out his command. “In the name of my research, show me your power, Excalibur! Eliminate these remaining lab mice however you see fit. Maybe by turning them into candy! That sounds interesting. Do try to keep one around though so I can examine it later.” After giving his order with giddy excitement, he waited for Excalibur’s response. It wasn’t like he expected any disagreement, though. With a simple nod, Excalibur finally spoke.
“Understood, my lord.” Excalibur prepared for battle by bracing himself, his master still clinging to his back to get a front row seat to the action.
“Damn you!!!” The war chief, Hapa, shouted in rage and sorrow at the loss of one of his clan members and soldiers, taking his spear and throwing it in the Majin’s direction. Excalibur simply caught it in his hands. He looked over the spear for a few seconds with a cold, dispassionate expression before making a motion with a slight flick of his wrist, throwing it back towards the war chief without warning. The weapon pierced straight through his abdomen, sending the man flying backwards, his weapon finally sticking into a stripped and bent tree, stopping their flight and pinning the war chief’s broken and dying body to the wood. He screamed, trying in vain to pull out the spear for a few seconds before slumping over, dead. The Konatsian wizard let out a sigh of disappointment.
“Was he your best? My, Earthlings are quite fragile. I’m not sure i’ll get any useful data here.” The wizard frowned slightly before looking back to the two remaining warriors who were in the middle of a futile attempt to rescue their leader from his new life as part of a dead tree. “Well, what are you waiting for, Excalibur?”
“Apologies, master. I was considering my options.” Floating a little closer to the warriors, the majin’s head tentacle flipped around to point in the direction of one of them; an older, bearded warrior by the name of Duuno. A pink beam of energy fired from the tentacle’s tip and struck the tribesman’s body, He let out a scream of surprise and agony as he was changed on an atomic level, transforming into a tiny, human-shaped chicken nugget. As Excalibur bent over to pick it up off the ground, the wizard, Meitr could see that it appeared to be holding a spear, just like the warrior was! Apparently, Majin were not limited to merely turning people to candy.
“My word, how fascinating! He appears to have changed from a person into a chunk of poultry!” Without a second thought, the Majin creature popped the warrior-turned-snack into his mouth, chewing the man completely up before swallowing. “Well? What does it taste like?”
“Hm…good. Tastes like chicken.” The Majin wiped the crumbs on his hands off on his white pants before looking around the battlefield. “I am… thirsty.” Turning his attention back to the other warrior, the tribesperson dropped his spear and cried out in fear, trying in vain to shield himself with his arms. “You. I shall turn you into a glass of milk.” Meitr looked on in total fascination. Not only did he change the warrior's shape, Excalibur also changed his composition. No longer was he a man; he was now a chicken nugget in every sense of the word.

Excalibur kills the War Chief, Hapa, and three of his four men! If no one intervenes, he will kill the fourth!
